Anyone else have this issue when moving from B450 to B550 and from 3000 to 5000 series processors?

A few months ago I treated myself to a couple upgrades in the form of an ASRock B550M Steel Legend motherboard, and Ryzen 7 5700G APU. Previously I had the B450M Steel Legend and 3500X. Since the upgrade, my audio for videos or games crackles and pops when I run them full screen, but not windowed. As for video, games run fine and videos run fine at the same time, but if say a game has to download some data, or I just have Steam or even just chrome downloading anything, the video I am watching (be it from youtube, hulu, prime video or anywhere) will skip and stutter and it makes me think I am about to have a blue screen. This is a tough one because I genuinely have no idea what could be the issue here. chipset drivers are current, bios is current, radeon drivers (5700XT GPU) are current, but the problem still continues. I never had any issue like this when I was using the older hardware. does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or at least have any ideas of other things I can start checking to begin troubleshooting this further?

So to get the latest ASRock bios update for my board which is 2.30, youre saying i DONT need one of the specified CPUs...? because I read that as "to update to this version of the bios, you need to use one of these CPUs" and I dont have one of those. i USED to, but I made a PC for a friend and dont have a 3500X anymore. but suppose I am able to update to the latest and I still encounter instability with BAR enabled. what other issues could be causing the instability? I've actually had issues ever since I swapped to the B550 and 5700G. Specifically weird crackly audio issues, but thats a topic for another time.

I did not, no, would that be something I need to quickly enable after turning everything else back on for it to be stable? Also since I only have a 5000 series processor, I think the point is moot anyway. I think when I heard that there was support for the 5000 series GPUs, I took it to mean anything 5000, GPU or CPU was supported for SAM now. Looks like it might not be the case and I am just SOL until the hype for the newest and best subsides and they extend support.

So my issue is my computer hard locking, like when audio freezes and just becomes a buzzing sound, and the whole system locks up and I have to hold the power button to reboot. This didnt start until after I watched the recent LTT vod on getting more improvement from an all AMD setup. I have since reverted the settings and things are perfectly stable again, but I feel like I am missing out on performance now. Pertinent specs as follows: ASRock B550M Steel Legend (bios v2.10. upgrading requires Matisse, Renoir or Vermeer CPU which I do not have) Ryzen 7 5700G Radeon RX 5700XT I disabled CSM, then enabled Above 4G decoding, and resizable BAR support (there was no AMD specific option for SAM or Smart Access Memory in my BIOS). Booted into Windows 10 just fine. Started watching some youtube and playing eldenring, and thats when the system locked up. Rebooted, tried again, this time just watching youtube, it locked up again. I reverted the settings and everything is fully stable again. Ideas on what went wrong or suggestions on how to get stable with those settings enabled would be fantastic. if there is any more information about my system or the issue that could help, let me know what else to add here! So I have a Ryzen 5700G and an RX 5700XT with 32G of ram clocked at 3200. My monitor only has 75hz refresh rate, so I target that and use vsync. My problem is I see my frames dropping down to 50 or less, but my cpu and gpu usage isn't going up. It just stays around 60% or so. Why is my usage not going up to keep the framerates up? Is this a weird AMD setting I need to find and change?

Will NVMe not just slow down to sata speeds when plugged into an M-key port?

issue: TeamGroup MP33 1tb NVMe drive not being detected in Disk Management tool, hence can not initialize or partition the drive for use. Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend. NVMe installed in m.2_2 port. Attempted Fixes: confirmed SATA BIOS settings. consulted manual which says SATA3_3 and m.2_2 share PCIE lanes so SATA3_3 has been unplugged and the drive shows up in device manager and BIOS. checked for any driver updates anywhere that may apply and found none. Current status: The drive is visible only as a long serial number in the device manager and BIOS, but does not show up in the Disk Management tool at all. The issue is not how to initialize a new disk, the issue is the disk is not visible to initialize and partition at all, just to be clear. I know how to initialize a drive...i just cant see the damn thing in disk management. Hopefully this is an easy fix by now, but I checked several old similar posts that seemed to have gone nowhere.

So last night my internet was running really slowly, for everything. Phone, PCs, consoles. Today everything worked just fine for my fiancé while I was at work. So I come home and now my pc can not connect to the network. No error is given, no feed back of any kind, other than it "can't connect to this network" between shutting down last night, and getting home after work today. Nothing changed. Things I've tried: Using command prompt to flush dns, winsock reset, ip reset Changed wifi adapter settings and disabled tcpip6, forced band to match the 802.11b/g of the modem. Uninstaller the drivers and started fresh. Tried multiple adapters that all work on fiancé pc. System restore. Ioconfig release and renew And reset network from windows settings. I'm fully out of ideas.

That sounds simple enough. I will give that a try tomorrow. But I also agree that it probably isn't my issue. But it's easy enough to check and if some reason that fixes everything, hey rock on!

The GPU fans don't turn on because of the stupid zero DB mode that is forced by default. I normally go into Adrenaline and force my fan curve to Jumpstart the fans. And yes I have tried multiple rebooting. No signal but I do hear it going into windows through my speakers.

Wouldn't I need a video signal for that? I've never done that before.

Ryzen 5 2600 no OC, 32gb Corsair Vengeance 3200 @ 2800 for stability, ASRock B450m Steel Legend, PowerColor RX 5700 no OC had video signal. things were great. never overclocked, never overheated, always forced fans to go because i HATE zero DB mode. I keep my stuff as cool as possible. So I go away for about 4 or 5 minutes, long enough for the dumb windows power saver thign to have turned the screen off. i shake the mouse to turn the screen back on, and nothing. no signal. turning monitor on and off does nothing, monitor tested on other PC and works fine. tried every port on the GPU, no signal. i know the PC itself boots up, because I hear it loading into windows every time, but no post screen, because no video signal. this seems to be a fairly serious issue to me, and I have no idea how to fix it. did my GPU randomly die? or is there some weird thing I need to do to get it to come back on? I've removed it, cleaned it, and reseated it in its slot. still nothing. what's the deal?

Literally tested it as you posted... Yes monitor works fine. No spare GPU.

Windows 10 home 64bit Ryzen 5 2600 no OC w/240mm CoolerMaster AIO 32gb Vengeance 3200mhz @2800mhz for stability. ASRock B450M Steel Legend (bios 2.50) ColorPower RX 5700 no oc EVGA 750BQ LG 34UM68-P 34-Inch 21:9 UltraWide IPS Monitor I play games windowed on the right side of the screen, and have YouTube and discord and whatever else open on the left. And all this is connected through display port. I was watching some YouTube, and things are fine. I get up to go get something to eat, and come back to see what windows stupid power save shut off my monitor. As it does. Which is fine... Wiggle the mouse, monitor turns back on. But this time it didn't. Wiggle the mouse. Nothing. Uodate: found out the issue is GPU not sending signal. No idea why. I don't OC and I don't use 0DB mode, I always keep the fans going. I have no other system to test the GPU, and no spare GPU to swap out and get going again. Any suggestions for what to do next short of buying a new GPU? It's not even a year old. Unplug and replug in the display port. Nothing. Restart. Nothing, no post either. But I hear windows starting up just fine. Swap to HDMI, nothing. Reboot, nothing, no post screen. I hear windows boot up just fine. Unplugged monitor power and let it sit for a bit, then plugged it back in. Nothing. No post screen, I hear windows just fine. The monitor is not even a year old, it can't be dead already can it? The buttons on it work, I can access and use the menu. But it gets no signal from my gpu. So I can't get into the bios or anything to troubleshoot. Where is my issue here? What's my next step to getting my screen to display again? Update, tested a laptop with the monitor, outputs just fine. So.. GPU troubleshooting now please.

Not while I am at home on my personal computer, no. This is a new issue.

I want this feature disabled and to go away, and absolutely none of the methods i found elsewhere on line worked. editing the registry, did not work. using chromes PC clean up, did not work. Reverting chrome to its origional state, did not work. has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you fix it? This is on my personal pc at home, signed into my personal account. This is not a work pc or work account.

So I have a Ryzen 2600 with 32 gigs (4x8 bought as 1 set, not 2 sets of 2x8 16gig for clarification. already made THAT mistake before too) corsair vengeance 3200 speed ram. I recently used the Gigabyte Aorus B450m motherboard and had a stable 3000 mhz @ 1.35v on my memory. I upgraded motherboards to the ASRock B450m Steel Legend and now my memory is unstable even at 2933. I am going to have to down clock it further as I am still having system instability. So my question. Do I need to try to find more compatible ram, or will upgrading to a Ryzen 3600 solve the issue with it's much better memory compatibility? another kit of 32 gigs 3200 or even 3600 speed ram would cost round about the same as the new processor, so I am torn and seeking guidance from the community. I am leaning towards getting the 3600 but wanted to see if that would even solve the issue before spending any more money right now. Thoughts? Advice? Cat memes?

my bad, PowerColor 5700. and I know they have a history of not working well together, but for a few months, everything worked fine. was it so wrong to hope for it to last?

i DO use MSI afterburner. I said that in my post. But the fan curve I have set there, will not take effect, until i turn on Adrenalin manual fan tuning, then turn it back off.

So, is it just my install of Adrenalin 2020 being weird or botched some how, or does it turn everyone else's fans off until around 65c as well? Then turn right back off when the temp gets down to about 55c... where it then just creeps back up to 65c, then fans and noise, and back down to 55c...Even with MSI Afterburner running on start up, my GPU will sit and idle up to 50c, because the fans just don't turn on. My fan curve is set in MSI, but still zero RPMs. Here is the weird thing. When I go into Adrenalin 2020 and set the fan curve... well first of all, it NEVER saves the curve and just sets it back to a flat line, but, suddenly, NOW the MSI curve is working, and my GPU idles down to 34c like it's supposed to. So I guess my question is... why does my Adrenalin 2020 (20.3.X and 20.4.X) keep disabling my fan until I go in, and set it to manual tuning? Because then I turn manual tuning right back off, and the MSI fan curve stays in effect. Leaving the fans in manual mode doesn't work for start-up either. Is silence THAT important that they will let their software just shut fans off for the sake of lower DB? I love AMD... but man, stuff like this that should have been, and stayed fixed a long time ago really puts that to the test sometimes. If anyone knows how to train their Adrenalin 2020 to turn the GPU fans on at start up, that would be great. Otherwise I guess I will just check for a new driver update next month. That's all I want. for my GPU to idle at 34c with my fans spinning like they are supposed to.

So I put the drive back in the boot order list... but this was such a strange thing that happened, I dont know how it could have happened. I thought my NVMe SSD failed because after a reboot, i was prompted with missing boot media. I looked in the bios and saw that my drive was removed from the list completely. I assure you I absolutely did not go into the bios and change this myself, nor did anyone else as I was here at my PC the whole time, so what I am wondering is what outside the bios can alter the boot order to the point that my boot drive is removed from the list? has anyone had this happen as well? any ideas what could possibly have caused this weirdness? It really freaked me out thinking my boot drive died, and freaks me out further because I just have no freakin idea HOW it could even happen with no one touching the bios. Someone smart please educate me and set my mind at ease before I start lighting candles and making offerings to the ghost in the machine to appease it.
