  1. The right question would be: what's a tier A power supply? In some Eastern European countries like for example Romania it's an interesting choice for it's price, because it's really cheap. But quality wise a GPxxxG can compete with a Corsair TXM 2017, which is actually in Tier B+.
  2. I explained in August last year as you can see. You asked if I knew, so I give you a post to show you that I knew.
  3. Well if you only care about that and don't look at anything else. Yeah get the PSU with the lower 10% ripple. But if you look at every aspect the conclusion won't be the same.
  4. http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?16714-Cooler-Master-MWE-V2-and-MWE-Bronze-V2-LLC-SR-DC-DC&p=158959#post158959
  5. That's certainly not a great deal. A Dark Power Pro 8 is old and because of that unreliable. It's a PSU you should replace asap. Xilence is never an interesting option, always overpriced. For the same price you can also get a Cooler Master MWE Bronze V2 550W or Corsair CX550 for example.
  6. Seasonic is focusing much more on sending review samples to not reviewers, when the reviews came with the problems of the Focus. So they all got a 9 or 10 out of 10. And the reviews with the problems didn't stand out anymore.
  7. First I believe you need to understand what you are writing. A good idea doesn't mean a good execution. It's exactly the opposite. If you focus on two points and make those two points much more important then everything else you're being subjective.
  8. No I'm not, I just told you some facts that you didn't like. The whole idea of a tier list just doesn't work. It's only helping people to get more misinformation. I believe we need less misinformation not more. The whole point is you don't help people with misinformation. Maybe the believe that in the first place because they don't know any better. But it's still not helping.
  9. Because a tier list like this never works, it has been proven again and again. I've seen more than 10 and all were crap. The next list tier list will just prove my point.
  10. You can't learn anything if someone always give you the answers and you just copy his answers. Why not check it for yourself? Gambias Cyclops X1 1200P is an example of a great power supply. If you understand the basics, you will also see the others...
  11. If you don't see it, then you shouldn't publish the next Tier list. Because it's gonna be yet another crappy list. Just learn the basics first.
  12. Don't do it! A PSU like this needs airflow. It's noisy because the only way a small fan like this can generate some airflow is if it spins really fast. If you replace it with a Noctua which can generate enough airflow, it also will be just as noisy. If you replace it with a Noctua which can't generate enough airflow it's gonna be really dangerous. A PSU that overheads can easily kill your hardware, it can even catch fire.
  13. No that PSU misses some connectors, it can only be used with a graphics card that requires a single 6 pins connector.
  14. This list is very bad. Some power supplies in Tier D are really great power supplies and some are hardware killers. Without knowing your power supply it's impossible to say if you're just lucky or if you have a high-end power supply, or something between that.
  15. I saw that list already, but it actually has a lot of the mistakes. Way to much focus on just one or two things that are made way to important. If you focus on just one or two downsides and don't look at the other downsides or upsides you just get a bad list. So I'll say it again, don't focus on one or two things but look at everything. Some years ago people only focused on Japanese capacitors and didn't care about the rest of the PSU. Now people here trying to start the next "just focus on one thing" hype.
  16. BitFenix isn't lowest end series from BitFenix, that's BPA, not that it matters... Anyhow, Formula Gold is better in almost anyway except the fan.
  17. I don't really understand what you mean. But the Abkoncore Core Platinum 1200W is a Andyson Platinum R1200 but with worse caps and maybe more downgrades, but that's not visible.
  18. All the PSU's there are Andyson's as you can see in the pictures. Could be good, but it looks like Abkoncore prever to be an overpriced brand. And also likes to downgrade the designs as much as possible.
  19. Corsair CX450M/CX550M/CX650M launched in 2016. Same goes for the CX750M and CX850M with black/white label, but with those not much changed compared to the green label ones. Just some upgraded components, it's not a totally different power supply.
  20. Yeah a bit below Corsair CX 2017, more like Corsair CXM 2016 series, an uninteresting PSU. There is no market for a PSU like this.
  21. Looking through the back, I'd say something close to FSP Hexa 85+/Raider II low wattage models/Hydro GE.
  22. If it wasn't it would be a marketing bullet point. It uses a double forward primary, so the secondary will be DC-DC or independent voltage regulation, last on isn't interesting, because the small price difference with DC-DC. Also if it was DC-DC, the total power on the 12V wouldn't be 35A but 37,5A. Yeah can't visit ITOCP ether. It's not that I would recommended it, but just that you where talking about a different PSU.
  23. Just because the EMI filter has some similarities, doesn't mean anything. They clearly are two totally different power supplies. They don't even share the same topology. One uses double forward with group regulation, while the other is half bridge LLC resonant with dual mag-amp.
  24. Your right I had the 430W version in mind, that's Seasonic ST series. The 450W is totally different and from RSY. It's like saying that every ATX PSU with a black PCB looks the same, because this two look totally different.
