There may be a configuration in the driver that, despite your fan curves, full guns the fans if it goes above 80C. Even if you could fix this issue, it's not that great of an idea to be running consistently above 75C. You might want to invest in some case fans.

The Astro A10s have treated me quite nicely. They sound pretty good and are really comfortable.

You can get really long Ethernet cables for cheap off the internet, like this. Probably cheaper than buying a WiFi adapter, plus you won't have to fiddle with drivers on such an old machine. Also, Ethernet is not a fire hazard.
