  1. You responded to my thread but I don't see it?

  2. Correction, I did not mean "Why", I meant "is it a good idea to still get it even though it's old and there might be newer models out with the same if not better specs for the same price"
  3. I'm going to be using it for gaming only but I'm worried the PG279Q is outdated since it was released in 2015 according to amazon. Does anyone know if it's a good idea to still get it even though it's old and there might be newer models out with the same if not better specs for the same price? Which would be better for me? Any tips and recommendations would help greatly!! I'm not gonna use any AMD cards for now, so I don't want freesync Acer Predator XB271HU ASUS ROG PG279Q

Would it be better to wait for newer panels?

Money is not the issue for me, I'd rather get everything new. But since my motherboard and everything else apart from the case and hard drives are outdated and require an upgrade it would mean tossing/selling basically my whole rig, which is a shame since I have not hit any performance ceilings with it, and it has a sentimental value.

Would it be better to wait for newer panels?

Since my motherboard's sockets are outdated, people on reddit informed me as such. I'd need to upgrade everything apart from the case and the hard drives.

Would it be better to wait for newer panels?

As in, is it a requirement? I guess not? I do want to try a new thing that's futureproof.

Would it be better to wait for newer panels?

@Crunchy Dragon Could you please help me out with deciding on a new display? I would most love an ultrawide, perhaps curved, should I wait until later this year? Would a 980ti SLI work?

Would it be better to wait for newer panels?

People say that, but that would mean getting a new motherboard, CPU, graphicscard and memory, while I can also just pay 300$ and be happy for another 5 years and then upgrade to the newer generation than the 2xxx's. I would also have to be lucky all parts are working, and selling my own pc which I am attached to. I rather just keep it at this point, but since I want a better display I might get more performance in SLI for a secondhand price.
  9. I was thinking of getting the Dell Alienware AW3418DW but now I'm hearing there are newer panels coming out, should I wait? I have a 4790K and a 980TI I can upgrade to SLI if I wanted to for only 300$.

Buying a New Monitor: Where to Start?

It's better if you could specify what specific resolution and refresh rate you'd like. 90Hz could already be plenty but you might want to go up to 144Hz

Which monitor to choose for my gpu?

But what refresh rate would you want?
