  1. What is going on? I thought they are supposed to get better performance/watt, but it looks to me the power increase % is the same as performance increase % for every new generation. Top end used to be 250w, then 2080ti 260w, 3090 350w, 4090 600w. I'm still running 1070 (150w) and it generates too much heat in my room, my country australia is very hot, I'm not going to turn on the 8kw aircon everyday just to play some game. I thought 4000 series was finally the time to upgrade, then I saw the 4090 power draw. Who will buy this crap? What happened to efficiency?
  2. not asking for stock tips, just asking for upcoming products and what the performance people think they will have compared to current gen
  3. haven't been keeping up with them, want to buy some shares in this panic. what % of nvidia's revenue is from data centers? i was going to buy jan 2019 after the crypto crash because jensen huang kept bragging about data centers and self driving cars, but was too high inhibition. any market killing products they're going to release?
  4. they said this is faster than 9700k for gaming, anyone know which games? it can't possibly be faster for most games, 3600 can't beat 9700k and they're saying a mobile cpu beats it? must be some amd optimized game?
  5. is it possible to get a virus just because they know your ip? i get tons of block logs on my router, but i dont know if it's blocking all of them. also i think most people get infected from visiting sites not downloading exe files? even for lots of normal sites im cautious.
  6. i got a 3400g and the fan is very loud, exactly like from 0:09 in here i used their online warranty form last week and still no response. i've seen plenty of people (including the uploader of that vid) get fan replacement. whats an effective way to get them to respond? this fan noise is unbelievable, this isn't me being picky, the fan is way too loud. even after i changed to DC instead of pwm its still a bit loud at idle, and it spins up like crazy to untolerable sound levels just browsing the web, many other people ive read have felt exactly the same.
  7. there really shouldn't be a problem, its on the list from gskill https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/184/1536110676/F4-3200C16D-16GVKB-Qvl. if u cant fix it after geting latest bios just rma (probably mb at fault)
  8. im using asrock b450m-f right now. this ram is not on the QVL of ur mb https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_STRIX_B450_F_GAMING/Memory-QVL-For-AMD-Ryzen-2000-Series-Processors.pdf. strange the 2x4gb version is on the QVL. ram isn't on my mb's QVL either but its worked so far without any issues. the latest bios is 2901 https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B450-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_BIOS/, u should check ur version.
  9. whats ur mb model? before i bought the exact same ram i googled QVL of my mb, and some people reported bsod freeze etc. i was going to make a new build anyway and the new mb i was going to get had this ram in its QVL, so i bought it. now using it on my previous mb, no issues at all unlike wat others reported, maybe because im using latest bios. u should use the preset profile instead of just changing the speed urself, it'll change voltage to 1.35 like boggy77 said. also make sure ur mb has latest bios update.
  10. will try that but i want it to be able to spin to 100%. also its a spire, the stealth for my 2600 is very quiet, so quiet that at first i opened the case multiple times to check its spinning (compared to my i5 2500k fan @ 100% it was silent as a ghost) its that sound exactly like in the video from 0:09 thats so annoying.
  11. its a a320 board so very barebones, only 1 cpu fan and i plugged the cooler into it. i will contact amd i guess, my 2600 fan is barely audible at 100% yet this fan is very annoying already at 1.7-1.8k rpm (and it's at that rate with sub 38C cpu temp), ive set the fan curve to the mb's "silent" preset yet it still spin so fast.
  12. just got my 3400g today, the fan is VERY loud. it makes exactly the same sound as like from 0:09 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uY8eDX0TDI, like the sound of a miniature bike engine. my 2600's cooler barely makes a sound even at 100%, watever noise it makes while gaming is drowned by my gpu+psu fans. whats worse is that the fan revs up just during internet browsing, no videos. ive seen it hit 2500 rpm at 40C. cpu is definitely not overheating, temps are normal. the noise is unbearable, this isn't just a minor annoyance, it rapidly goes up and down just by idling on desktop like you hear in the video. is the fan faulty? or are all 3400g fans like this?
  13. for anyone who googles this thread in the future: so i played for couple days now with new drivers i installed myself and used a different pci-e on my psu, no issues so far. if u encounter this problem first thing is to install new drivers urself, disable windows optional auto updates.
  14. well thats true. im the type who never plays below max setting (excluding AA which i hate). quite a few 2019 titles are lagging for me, and looking at benchmark 1080 is the way to go.
  15. 1070 is not enough for 1440p anymore, need 1080 at least.
  16. i upgraded drivers, havent played games yet. but i forgot to mention my comp turns on by itself when i plug power in. it shuts off fine, and remains that way, until i turn off wall socket then on again. this is obviously a mb problem, might it be related? my 1070 has 1 8 pin, its rated tdp is 150w and i thought 8 pin is 150w, so mb shouldn't have problem providing the 75w through pci? any help appreciated.
  17. i changed drivers after i got new mb/cpu/ram, but that was at least 10-13 days ago and all my games played fine under 100% load. issue suddenly started happening today, gears 4 played fine before today. but i will change version, current is 430.86 windows auto installed it for me.
  18. started happening today, 5 times already. playing gears 4 and suddenly black screen and fans start spanning at 100%. did some googling some people say its a power issue, i only replaced my mb/cpu/ram last week, did not have this problem with 100% load before, dont think its the psu. should i rma? its a msi armor 1070. or can it be the mb? im worried they'll give me a really bad refurb.
  19. slightly off topic, but do a320 mb have voltage control? i know no OC just wondering about voltage.
  20. another question... will a320 boards be able to undervolt? my 2600 runs alot cooler undervolted on my b450 board. i know they cant oc, just wondering if they can control voltage...
  21. https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/GA-A320M-H-rev-11/support#support-cpu say right here supports it... im just worried about them not updating newly manufactured ones, but slottr answered my question.
  22. deciding to get this for budget build. are the current ones being sold already flashed with latest bios? my asrock b450 was using latest, all companies update their bios on new stock right? will a 3400g work even if it isnt using latest bios? since its 2nd gen anyway...
  23. heard rumors its only gonna be binned vega 11 again, and mid 2020. anyone have credible sources? im thinking whether to wait for my dad's build.
  24. KonFid3nCE its hard to confident without having positive experience with women under ur belt. its hard to be confident in any area without having success in that area. i think its better to tell people not to take rejection too seriously and that different people have different preferences, so dont think ur unattractive to all women just because 2 rejected u.
