  1. Thank you guys, I really appreciate all of the help that you are giving me I've tried anything, changing thermal paste, reseating the cpu, clearing the cmos with the 2pins,changing the battery, switching to another psu, clearing Everything from dust, but the problem is still present, can really a bad bios setting turn your pc in this state? Is there some other thing i can try? The motherboard has 2 bios, M bios and B, there's no manual switch, I've tried shorting then pin manually, and also doing that thing with the power button(also the reset one), is there a way to flash a bios in this state? Thank you really kindly
  2. Hello guys, thank you as always for helping me out with this sort of things! Today I have a pc with the following Mother board (gigabyte ga h270 gaming 3) that turns on and off without booting, it is owned by a friend of mine that after tampering with the bios settings, got stuck with this result, i have a video of the led status (maybe it can help) I've tried switching bios(the board has double bios) , but i do not know how to do it,(even though I'm not certain that it is a bios problem) what could it be? Can someone help me? Thank you VID_20230329_201137.mp4
  3. Hello guys! Back again with another stupid question of mine! Two days ago a friend of mine gave this imac a1418 with a broken psu, i was wondering if it was possible to use a normal ATX one to power it! I have so many of them, I don't want to spend money and it would be a Fun project if it is possible, I cannot find any pinouts diagrams of the original psu so... Can someone help me?
  4. Thank you guys for the help! I thought it was something really important, it can be solved by just using a WiFi dongle instead of messing around with soldering, thank you as always for all the help

  7. Hello there beatiful people of this amazing forum, today I would like to discuss a topic that may be kind of stupid (but nonetheless,i hope, interesting hahaha) I've started working lately and I have some money for little ideas I have on the back of my mind: i'm a big fan for old/vintage game (also emulation etc) but most of all ancient MMOs etc(like metin 2,runescape and such) I really want to buy a cheap netbook ( or similar kind of laptop, old or new) for doing just that! some good old fasioned gaming on a outdated machine but there are so many out there and I don't really know which to choose from! I would like it to be in the range of 10 inch screen and powerful enough to run these games (even with crappy settings ahah it's fine) I've seen some samsung n150,asus eee x101ch,etc (my preference is that it need to be white, but it doesn't matter too much) of course I don't want to be here and just ask you guys to give me tips about it,it would be kinda selfish,I want this to be a thread for discussion also,be free to say whatever you want about these kinds of laptops! thank you kindly ! (and sorry for my broken english,I'm italian )
  8. If It is a gpu bios problem, I have a clevo laptop that I can use to flash the bios of the gpu without any problem, so I'm asking for this reason
  9. Hello jaslion thank you for the reply! Thank you really kindly! Is there a way to bypass this bios thing? I've read that some people were able to flash an unlocked bios on unsopported gpus to make them work on these laptop, so the problem is the laptop's bios or the gpu one? Thank you again! Savage also thank you for your reply, this is very important proof, thanks a lot!
  10. Update to the whole thing, it could be that the gpu needs a custom bios and not a different psu, Can someone pls help me figure out what is the problem?
  11. Hello there beautiful people of this forum, I need an advice, a friend of mine wants to upgrade his alienware m17x gpu from a nvidia 765 to a 970,he tried to swap the gpu, but the pc got really slow and almost unusable,I think that the issue is that he used a power brick that was not powerful enough for the gpu (here are some picture below) can someone help me figure out if that is the case? And if that is the problem...which wattage should the psu be? Where I can purchase it? Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the reply! You were right! I've purchased the laptop and it was indeed a screen problem! Thank you really!!
  13. Hello there beautiful people of this forum, I need an advice, an odd one, from the experts of this forum(I clearly am not ahahah), sometimes on my facebook marketplace sections some bargains pop up and I have to decide wether or not to take some risk to take home laptops like this: this guy has a clevo workstation laptop and says that the screen has some orizontal Lines that one day just showed up, before it was just one and then they become two and showed up in a different place on the screen, he says that it is a problem on the ribbon cable of the display, my question is... Is it really this? Or it is more likely to be a gpu artefact because it is failing? Here are some pictures, can you help me figure out? The price its just too damn good, of corse thanks for the help!

  15. well guys,it has been a really fun ride, after 3 consecutive days of just trying literally anything,i decided that I could try to take out the battery of the laptop...and give the windows setup a try...AND GUESS WHAT IT FINALLY INSTALLED WINDOWS,IT WAS THE BATTERY ALL THE TIME,HOW CAN IT EVEN BE!!!? but thanks everyone, like really,I really mean it..THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
  16. The irql is not less or equal error happens during installation, to be more precise, right when the : copying Windows files is happening so that is not the problem, also the ram are soldered in the machine so yeah i cannot pull it away, That friend of mine says that the problem is correlated to a specific driver that does the writing on the ssd/hdd, yet I cannot find a Solution, If I found out what it is, I will let you know! And thanks
  17. that good friend of mine says that it has do with some kind of driver that needs to be put on the windows image that i'm installing, could this be?
  18. it seems like the pc is not able to write on (neither) the ssd or hdd,how can this even be possible?
  19. little update,I've tried installing windows using a normal hdd instead of the ssd,and the error showed up anyway so...now I'm even more lost! AHHA
  20. Had the same problem again, even with win 7 :(, really don't know what could be wrong
  21. HAAHAHAHH ok ok got it thanks, I'll install Windows 7,yeah I just need this laptop for playing some good old half life 2 and sonic titles using an external crt monitor, nothing more HAHAAH Thanks thkitch I'll try this one, my friend told me something about putting some kind of drivers on the bootable win image, or something like that, he told me that some drivers are missing, and this could potentially be the reason
  22. Hello! Thanks for the reply! It is a chinese Ssd i think, it is called goldenfir, it has worked fine inside of other laptop of mine, so i don't think it is broken or something like that
  23. Hello there beautiful people of this beautiful forum! I'm having some kind of a problem here! I'm trying to do a fresh and clean installation of Win 10 on my old eee 1225b asus netbook, (with a ssd inside) but no luck so far! I'm getting an error right before the setup starts that says (irql not less or equal), a good friend of mine says that it is an error related to the fact that I'm trying to use an ssd inside of this pc ( in fact, if I try to install Windows 7 on it, i get another error that says: impossible to write on media device ((something like this)).) so yeah can someone help me,please! And Thanks
