  1. So i've been wondering for about a week now on if i should open my gpu because when i opened it for a good cleaning i saw that the gpu as a whole had a lot of dust on the fans and inside it, i blew it with a can of air and a lot of dust did come out and i was wondering if i should open it to repaste and deep clean it. The gpu is an asus tuf rtx2060 that has been in use for about a year, because of the frankly shit cooler on it it has spent a lot of its time on 70-82C. The main thing im worried about is voiding the warranty in case the gpu decides to prank me and die on me while its under warranty but the manufacturer then deciding it doesn't want to help me because they can see that i broke the paper seal on one of the coolers screws, should i not open the gpu just for the fact that then asus could basically say "fuck you we wont help" in case it decides to die on me or should i just open it worry about it breaking if it happens?
  2. So i'am doing a school project where i'm putting together pc's to play some games, í have to use whatever components i can find around the storages and what not and i found a HD6970 that is the best that my school has and i really want to use it since theres nothing quite like it to find. The problem is that the shitty psu's that are available only have 1 8pin and 1 6pin and the card needs 2x8pin and it wont boot with one psu, i plugged in another 8pin from a separate pc and it booted so it's definetly the 6pin thats causing issues, is there a way i could "fool" the gpu into thinking it has 2x8pin or is this a lost cause?
  3. I'll look avout doing that tomorrow since i gotta go to bed because its 3:30am right now.
  4. It has a "SVI2" at the end but i was cutout because of the size of the window, it shows that the maximum is 1.375 and during use it seems to go around the 1.35+V. I'm guessing that means that the 1.375V would be suffient?
  5. Is it the "CPU Core Voltage" reading?
  6. Which one is that, i've been looking at the Core 0-5 VID readings since i was assuming that was the one?
  7. After a brief run of aida64 it seems to max out at 1.306v, the maximum figures do show that at some point it did reach that 1.375v limit though. Also to add while watching yyoutube it seems to go to around 1.37v
  8. I'm a little paranoid when downloading things, is the link i pasted the right one? https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
  9. How do i check the actual voltage? Would looking hardware monitors voltage usage suffice?
  10. I put it to 1.375 since going lower seemed to make it not boot and that from what could find should be safe.
  11. Yeah i was thinking it might be fine since i wouldn't imagine the processor being in 100% usage since that isn't going to happen too often since i just mostly play video games and watch youtube. Also not sure if this is relevant but shouldn't my processor downclock itself while not in use or is this just a thing that happens on laptops which i come from?
  12. So i just applied a basic overclock to 4ghzon my ryzen 5 2600 and it peaked at 84c during a brief aida64 stability test and i'am wondering if this is ok? Is it a case of aida64 not being a represetation of a normal use case and it peaking that high in that not being of much concern or should i just lower the clock speed until i get a better cooler?
  13. So i might be getting a gtx770 that i'am going to look into fixing since its broken adn was wondering would it work properly if i used a 550w psu that i have since the gtx 770 has a recommended psu wattage of 600w? ' Edit: Just thought that since i didn't say in originally but the gtx 770 would not be staying in my use since i would probably just re-sell it if i can fix it.
  14. Yeah i have both of them and i'am feeling the 24 one more but just wanting to get other opinions aswell.
  15. So i'm wondering on how you wonderful people feel on the dilemma i have that i'am not too sure on. So the thing i'am wondering on is should i use a 32 inch tv/monitor or a 24 inch monitor which both are 1080p 60hz, not quite sure on what panel type the tv is but i'am pretty sure it's VA and the 24 inch monitor is TN. Both of them would be almost the same distance of 50-60cm away from my face.
  16. Yeah this seems like what i was looking for, thanks a lot.
  17. So i'am pondering on bying a windows 10 pro oem key and was wondering is it possible for me to upgrade my windows version since i have the home edition installed and would rather not re-install windows on my pc. All answers relating to the question will be appreciated.
  18. The only store i can go to doesn't seem to have a TXm model psu in it and CXm has a gray label so doesn't that mean it would go to the B+ category since the cx model there has a gray label and the one in B category has a green label.
  19. Yeah as i said in a reply to @minibois i got vs550 because it was the only thing i could afford and was planning on replacing in under as soon as i had the means on getting a new one, it seems to be the slightly better one with the gray label which as i understand is the better one out of the two.
  20. Yeah i know that my first choice to my build wasn't ideal but at the time i had to get it done and i couldn't afford to get a better one so i got to atleast till i could get the money together to get a better one which it's looking like i will have the money to get one. I was looking at a corsair cx550m with a gray label on a store in about the only store i can go to since i can't really order anything from the internet, if i understand the list correctly the cx550m would fall into the B+ category on the list. Thanks for the link to the list man.
  21. So i have a very simple question and that is how much extra wattage would i need/want for me to do some light overclocking on my processor since i'am thinking of getting a new psu to replace my VS550 that i have right now? I have a ryzen 5 2600 that i'am thinking of overclocking and a RTX 2060 which i'm not planning on overclocking since the cooler on my model is not that great at the current speeds.
  22. So i just looked at the drivers and utilities page for my Tuf B450 Pro Gaming motherboard and saw that there is a bios update to 2007 from the current one 1804 and now i'am wondering if i should update the bios because it says there are performance optimizations on the newer one, so my question is that is there any reason i should update the bios on my motherboard and what are the risks if i do? Any answers relating to the question are much appreciated.

    Cooling my CPU

Would a Hyper 212 EVO be a good choice for me or should i look at the Hyper 212 Black?
