Using either one is fine, you would only need the 2.5G for something like a home file server.

Asus Strix X570-E has a 2.5G LAN and a LAN ports. Does it matter which one I use? I have normal 100mg internet connection.

Fan headers on your motherboard can provide maximum of 1 amp each. So if you connect too many fans to it, it may damage the board.

I have the Rog Strix Z390- E and it only has two PWM fan connectors the rest are not, you need to make sure any PWM connection is connected to a PWM compatible header. Consult your motherboard manual or support webpage to figure out which headers are PWM compatible.

This fan header that you've located is most likely for the Fan controller on the back of the case.

Feel free to plug that into any CHA_Fan header on your motherboard, and then plug all your fans into this fan controller. NOTE: The Fan controller has a SATA power cable coming off of it which supplies the power to the fans, so make sure you plug this in! As @PopsicleHustler pointed out, Motherboard headers can only supply power to a few fans, so this is how many fans can be controlled with only one motherboard header.

That’s more of a personal decision.

Unless I’m dual booting with Linux or Mac OS I won’t partition my main drive at all.

When you install Windows on your M.2 drive, you can choose "Custom" or "Advanced" at some point, and instead of letting Windows automatically do everything, choose to create a smaller partition for your Windows installation. For example, you can configure your C : letter as 200 GB or whatever size your comfortable with. You can leave the rest of 7-800 GB unused and install your Windows.
When Windows is completely installed, you can go in Disk Management , select your SSD and right click on an empty area in the bar that shows how your SSD is partitioned  and select to create as many partitions as you wish, and give each partition the letter you want and format it using NTFS (standard file system for Windows 10).
When done, you can simply copy the data from mechanical drives to your SSD.

You may not be able to give the new partitions the exact letters you want because they may be used by your mechanical drives.
In this case you can right click on those partitions on the mechanical drives and select "Change drive letter" and change the letter to something else.
The letter that was previously used by mechanical drive now can be used for your new SSD partition.

(skip the shrink volume stuff at the beginning, go to around 3:15)

For HDLED and PLED the positive connector is to the left. For PWRBTN and RESET it doesn't matter.

Honestly u can do it without downloading a program.
Just load up MSpaint, create 5 single color images. red, green, blue, white, black.

Save them in the same folder. Then open them in windows image viewer, enter 'display slideshow , pause and cycle through them.

'Black' is to check for 'stuck' pixels.

The included splitter isn't a requirement. Using the motherboard header will give you a little more control over the fan as well as those splitters usually don't include PWM control for the 2nd fan.

devdeep reacted to WoodenMarker in CPU fan connections
Yes, you can connect the fans to different fan headers if you don't want to use the included splitter. Any of the fan headers displayed work fine.
The M.2 fan header is just a fan header with different presets but is probably functionally the same or very similar as other headers if you're going to use your own settings.

just tell us what board is that]

but if you dont know, stick to using slot 1

slot 2 should also work, at 3.0 x4 instead of 4.0 x4 (max, can fall back to 3.0) slot 1 can do. What you quoted is... not sure where you got that from, it just doesnt eman anything.

The pwm versions are strictly better as you can control them with either pwm or dc whereas the 3pin variant is limited to dc.

The DC can use significantly more power, so you can charge things a lot better on it.
    That's the difference.

That's SAS to SATA not SATA to SATA.

EDIT: It will work, but you'll need a Mini SAS port on the board or through an expansion card to use it.
