  1. Hi all,

I have an Aorus FO48U like the Linus video linked HERE (11.45)

In the video Linus uses the nvidia control panel to emulate an ultrawide style setup by creating top and bottom black bars (11.45 in Video).

Using the control panel I am able to get the black bars and it looks great but as soon as I open Destiny 2 (my main game) the screen returns to using the whole panel, despite the fact I ticked the box that says to override game settings.

Can anyone help shed some light on this?

Do you use the Lian Li software to control the fans or motherboard? If motherboard, then use this:

If you use the Lian Li software, there is likely a way to set which temperature source to use.

Thanks for sharing will check it out!

I have both options, I have it set to PWM at the moment but have been manually over riding via lian li software when temps are rising.

  3. Hi all,

    I have a custom loop with a 5950X and RTX3090 in an O11 Dynamic with 8 Lian-Li UniFans.

I am struggling when playing certain games which dont load the CPU (destiny 2 mostly) where my PWM fan control wont increase the fan speed unless I manually change it. Is there a way I could have my fans increase based on GPU temp or coolant temp?

I have a coolant temperature sensor which can connect to a header on my asus board but I dont know how I would link that to the fan PWM profile.

Apologies if this is a noob question I am quite new to custom cooling.

    Thanks, Mark

What about 42" OLED? LG might release them early 2022.

And why do you want the AORUS FO48U? Why not LG 48C1 if you want 48" OLED?

Reduce OLED light down to 25-30 to have less eye strain.

A 42 could be the answer!

the reason for aorus was the display port input and built in KVM switch

  5. Hi all,

after watching the Linus video on the AORUS FO48U I really want one for my setup.

however I can’t seem to escape the feeling that sitting at a desk with that monitor might be too close a viewing distance/angle. I am a bit concerned about eye strain.

Am I being silly or have others experienced this?

    thanks, Mark

  6. Hello everyone,

I have a custom loop water cooled system and I’m using a pci-e riser cable.

To get it to boot I had to manually set the PCIE to gen 3 as the riser seems to cause issues.

I had some issues so cleared CMOS forgetting about this and now I can’t boot.

Can anyone think of a way past this without breaking my loop open? I was thinking perhaps I could edit a bios file to force the slot to PCIE 3.0?

    Thanks, Mark

Your RAM and motherboard may be rated for DDR4-3600, but your CPU might not be able to handle DDR4-3600.

AMD is only guaranteeing up to DDR4-3200 --- anything beyond that requires overclocking the CPU's Integrated Memory Controller (IMC).

That said, make sure you have 'Gear Down' mode disabled in the BIOS.

If your CPU / motherboard doesn't like the XMP timings, you may need to fine tune them (e.g. using DRAM timings / voltage "suggestions" from Thaiphoon Burner, etc)

ahh okay. I didnt realise that.

I was previously able to run 3600MHz on my corsair RAM which is strange. I will try and find some more friendly settings 🙂

  8. Hi guys,

    I recently got some G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz kit (2x8GB).

However when I turn on D.O.C.P or leave that to auto and set them to 3600MHz manually the system wont post until it eventually posts in safe mode.

This may be a silly question but if my RAM is rated for that then surely it should boot without issue, are my sticks fauly?

  9. Hi all,

I am struggling a bit with my ASUS board and controlling my EK D5 pump built into my distro plate.

I have the pump connected to the water pump header on my ROG hero. I want to run the pump at 100% to help clear any trapped air.

so I have set the QFan settings for that header to be always at 100% but when I quit out the bios it remains in what appears to be a normal setting. Spinning up as and when the pc picks up a load

    any suggestions please?

  10. Hi all,

Currently planning out my first loop in my O11 dynamic with a distro block.

I am trying to get my head around a few things. Wondering if any fellow O11 owners could help me out. Please note I am talking standard O11, not the XL

    1. If I put the distro in the front, can I run a rad/fans at the top, bottom and also vertically mount the GPU?
    2. if I can’t run a rad/fans at the bottom due to the vertical mount. Could I mount the radiator on the back of the side panel and connect it to the block?

I’ve done a fair bit of Googling but there is very limited info about a front distro in a non XL case

Looks like their Coolstream Classic lineup: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/classic/classic-radiators

Thick PE model for the top and slim SE model for the bottom.

    Thank you!

They are indeed, as I have both of these in my O11 XL and would recognize them anywhere. Personally I like the distro front plate so you can still intake from the side, feed the top radiator more fresh air

I have been torn between which distro plate to go for, however I dont think I would be able to do a 360 on the bottom with a regular o11 and distro plate, do you know if that is the case?

Lower your graphics settings with RTX on. Are your temperatures fine? What are your CPU/GPU utilizations with frequencies in game? Set Window's Power Plan to "High Performance". Go to Nvidia Control Panel's "Manage 3D Settings" tab and scroll down to [Power management] and change from Adaptive to Prefer Maximum Performance.

These are just some ideas to point out if you have not done so already. You can always try DDU and perform a clean install of graphics drivers.

Thanks for this. I have tried tweaking these settings but sadly no luck.

My temps on GPU are 65-70 and CPU is mid 60s.

However I notice in task manager while playing my GPU usage is less than 20%, is this to be expected, I thought a game would hit the GPU hard?

    Exactly, you enable raytracing.

Disable it and your fps will be a lot higher.

I tried this, still low - no noticeable boost.

Are you sure your settings are the same as others?  Unless 100% confident this is apples to oranges.

Its also an online game, that is at the mercy of waiting for data over your network when a new sprite appears.

What is your FPS with raytracing when playing the base game, not online?  Id wager its alot higher.

I beleive so, but what confuses me is when I reduce the settings I see little boost in performance.

I am now downloading the campaign mode to test this, thanks!

  13. Hi guys,

I am rather confused by my results in Warzone. Playing 1440p max settings (RTX on) I struggle to get more than 140fps. Looking at others results it looks like 200+ should be possible? Perhaps I am mistaken.

I beleive everything is working as it should be with my CPU/GPU, See 3D mark score to validate these thoughts.

Can anyone suggest something to try?

Tried rolling back any updates because as you said this happens after boot so when it started happening it might be the cause of an update.

And if that doesn't work just reinstall windows and choose the options of keeping your data while doing it.

That may not work either sometimes so just take a backup of your entire system on other hard drives if you have them or just pay for some more storage on google drive and do a clean install of windows rom a bootable usb.

Thanks for the advice! How do you roll back updates?

Enter these two commands in Command Prompt after your system comes to being usable.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

and let it finish, and then

    sfc /scannow

and let us know if any errors come up.

    No errors :(

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I think i've had something like this before. Navigate to task manager. Im assuming right clicking the task bar won't work so pressing ctrl alt delete can get you there. Find something called "explorer" and end the task. Your sreen will go black for a second but everything will reload and hopefully fix the problem. It's happenned to me twice before and I'm not sure what causes it

Unfortunatley that doesnt resolve the issue. When i try to click on the taskbar during this 10 minute phase I think it is doing a restart of the explorer process due to the crash.

  15. Hi everyone,

I am very confused and hoping for some help..

My rig ( in sig below) has all of a sudden started being extremley slow to fully load windows. Initial boot up and login is fine but then I get to the desktop and the taskbar items dont load and it just shows a spinning blue circle, I also cant access the start menu or any of the search functions.

During this my start up apps such as razer synapse, corsair iCUE, Steam etc also do not open. I can however access and open apps if I navigate manually by opening a folder from the desktop to get into explorer.

After 10iish minutes my taskbar loads and all runs like normal. I have no clue where to start troubleshooting this. Can anyone offer some advice?

    Regards, Mark
