  1. normally id disagree, but in this case, most likely. im just glad he didn't do something entirely beyond my knowledge... cuz like im a hobbyist man, there's a lot i don't know. but each time something new happens i try to fix it before resorting to buying new parts, i learn more and im able to help more people. He will get what he deserves :)
  2. unfortunately no, but it finally worked in disk management assigning a new drive letter to it, not sure if it was setting my bios settings to default or if it was the 5 restarts i did trying to get it to work, but it finally let me set it as a new drive letter. but every time i tried even this it'd just say something like "you don't have access to make this change" same thing when trying to open the drive to see if something was on it, it'd just come back saying i needed to change its security settings and it wouldn't have a sec tab. i mean when it comes to drive partitions etc... i do not mess with them unless i absolutely have to. i worked on this trying to figure it out and doing research for like 3 hours before work. on lunch now, ill make a flashdrive this weekend for fixing everything. thanks everyone
  3. i cant delete the partitions, it fails every time i try, it actually has me locked out of messing with it
  4. Alright, so i let someone i know use my streaming/gaming pc for a bit, they told me it was running slow. my pc that boots in 10 seconds and can run everything on ultra is going slow, im like ok, maybe they just have an obscene amount of stuff open or maybe a part is failing out etc... then they tell me its taking 5-10minutes to restart... so im like ok, ill look at it in a bit and now im left with an actual mess on my hands. the ONLY drive thats being read apparently is my HDD, my SSD isn't even appearing in my bios and when i go to check... its been partitioned, half of it is labeled as a new drive, the other half is WIPED and set to fat32, oh right and im locked out of it, i cant alter it, i cant pull up its sec tab, its listing its space as unassigned, like how the hell do you actually do this? and im at work now so i wont even have time to fix this or attempt to + get all my games re-downloaded before the weekend. if anyone knows how to actually fix this, advice greatly appreciated. ik its risky, but i'd also be willing to pay someone if they are able to fix it and get it back to booting in 10seconds. file attached for what im dealing with

    Can it run doom

Can an Aegis B60 vap run doom, the answer I have right now is maybe, I mean we've gotten doom to run on a bunch of weird stuff. Here I am today to find out what is or isn't possible before I dive in and try to figure this out, so the manufacturer said it has no memory for running games and that it's firmware is on a chipset. So I'm thinking maybe a highly custom firmware that basically just has a doom port on it, or I rip it apart and modify it the way they did the pregnancy test and lcd screen. Now I know if we do that it's basically guaranteed to work, what I want to try to do is get doom on it and keep the vape itself working. Any ideas or advice appreciated because I'll admit I need to do more research before even attempting to upload anything to it's chipset or modifying it. The people at geekvape advised against this obviously but, they did give me some helpful information on their device and advised against hacking into it or loading on third party firmware, but they also told me to factory reset it if need be to get it back to its old self. So I see this as a we don't recommend it but want to see it response
  6. i believe it's a Z690 PG riptide, i've contacted them as it appears the drivers i've found were already up to date, so hopefully they have something i didn't see listed. i will update here once the issue is actually fixed or if this fails to fix it
  7. so i recently bought a pc through one of the companies that builds them, picked out my own parts, OS etc... i had to go into the motherboard later on and enable it over to user mode because they forgot to do that in order to get valorant to run, i suck at it but it's still fun to mess around with occasionally, but let's get into the issues. it came with windows 11 and i asked for windows 10 on the form, no big deal, i can always downgrade it back to 10 myself if i truly have to. however after having the PC for a few months its started having issues, the main one and only one i haven't figured out how to fix being it resetting my usb devices, for example in the middle of a gaming session such as RDO or valorant or FFXIV or minecraft what have you since i'm a variety gamer/streamer so i have a ringlight, webcam, mouse/keyboard, usb mic, headset, capture card etc... it breaks everything for anywhere from 30seconds to 2 minutes and it's so hit and miss im having problems narrowing down the fix for it, for example it might not do it for a month, then all of a sudden it does it three times in a week. if it was a PSU issue which who knows maybe it is, usually everything would mess up but the game and everything is still running fine, it's just my USB devices that are resetting on me, i've only downloaded things from official sources such as steam, riot etc... so i highly doubt it's a virus but we know steams file checks aren't entirely full proof so who knows. but this is me reaching out to see if maybe its something with my motherboard or my usb ports or maybe someone else had this issue and upgrading the psu fixed it, it's still under warranty and with my job i don't really have time to buy new ports and attach/remove the old ones if that's it, from what i saw on the motherboard i couldn't find any solders linked together or any cracking or anything. these same devices never had this issue on my other PC so i know it's not the devices themselves
  8. So to save you all like 10 paragraphs here's some bullet points. I'm in Tennessee, near Chattanooga areaish 1. Craigslist has been a bust, I've tried buying full rigs but they refuse to turn it on or get back to me when I get there. 2. Rigs and parts aren't sold on Craigslist often around me 3. The small mom and pop shop here and the only shop in town that deals in PC repair and such, is now ran by their son who steals top of the line parts from ignorant customers and resells them on the side and tells x customer they'll need to upgrade eventually due to hardware issues, said customers usually don't even know what's in their PC to start with. So buying from him is out of the question. 4. I need to somehow build two PC's capable of recording and editing video/streaming with about 1000$ total. 5. At least 6 people I know who bought a Walmart PC lately in my town got screwed somehow with either 2gb of ram instead of 4 or they somehow had a Nvidia 545 or something instead of a 1060 or whatever was labeled on the box So if anyone has any idea on builds from a trusted site or shop or anything in this area or in surrounding towns, it would be much appreciated. Yes I'm also looking at potentially waiting until cyber Monday/black Friday before buying the parts
  9. Hey, so a friend of mine only has 1,000 dollars to spend on a PC, currently hes using a 5 year old hand me down laptop. He streams off it but it's super laggy and just bad, he's talked about wanting to edit videos for YouTube as well which thankfully I talked him out of for now because he doesn't have a real GPU or a good CPU or ram or anything. Anyways, I honestly don't even know where to begin for his build because everything i think of comes out to at the very least like 1500-2000$. Any and all build recomendations appreciated.
  10. Thank you both, for the suggestions, I'll probably add a bit more in to spring for a bigger hard drive though seeing as I had to get a 1 terrabyte micro SD for the switch and honestly with my steam library I need all the space I can get. I'm a variety gamer
  11. I posted all this here as I've not found it all in one place before
  12. So as some of you probably know if you tried to stream off the switch or know someone that has its not exactly a fun experience, you buy the equipment you buy the switch and you still have audio issues and if that wasn't bad enough, the program the capture card wants you to use is extremely scuffed. What you need. 1. Switch/dock for switch 2. TV 3. A computer or laptop, literally anything will work even if it's the dinosaur in the attic.... As long as its on-board chip set can handle OBS 4. OBS - it has the least amount of usage out of the alternatives I've used and is great if your a budget streamer, let's be honest most new streamers are budget streamers. 5. Elgato HD60P capture card - this is the best capture card the switch can actually support. 6. ELGATO record program (this becomes obvious soon) 7. A second mic preferably USB Ok so you have all the items and programs downloaded, now let's hook up the Elgato HD60. 1. Plug the HDMI from the switch dock into the Elgato input port. 2. Plug the micro USB which you should have got with the Elgato, into the Elgato and your PC 3. Plug in the last HDMI cable to the Elgato and your monitor or TV Now that's all set up let's configure OBS 1. Start a new scene just right click and name it anything or use the new scene/+ button. 2. Under source add video capture device and select Elgato HD60 3. You should now see it in OBS. 4. Tweak OBS settings as needed. So now that all set up, you do a test stream and realize a lot of things aren't working. 1. In-game chat not accessible. 2. Audio splitter isn't viable for switch (in my experience) 3. No sound output to the stream for in-game sound and music. 4. Stream has game sound but you don't Now I will address all these issues, this is where the Elgato studio comes in to play so go ahead and close OBS for now and open it. 1. Open Elgato Game capture program 2. In the top right you should see where it detects the device from there go into it's settings. 3. Select the device you are recording from 4. Make sure it's on HDMI Audio 5. Feel free to shutdown Elgato Game Capture now. 6. Open OBS - Edit the Source settings as you like, just make sure it's running properly 7. Go to mixer go to HD60 settings and make sure it's set to monitor and output. 8. If you have echo issues or audio issues still plug in your headset to your computer and tweak the mic on it to work on twitch Keep in mid the switch can only handle 1080P at most so anything higher is generally a waste of time. In-Game Chat fix. 1. Plug in a USB mic to the BACK OF THE DOCK IT HAS TO BE THE BACK. This should fix all issues from No display to Audio messing up as well as give you in-game voice chat still for fortnite or overwatch or whatever it is you play
  13. I've done both over the years, honestly don't care which as stated above. I even tried frankensteining two broken laptops I had together before admitting there's no repairing it without refurbished parts, didn't see any corrosion on it either which would of been an easy fix.
  14. So my laptop died, went to work come home it was posting error blinks, basically everything in it failed out except for the power supply and motherboard, so I'm in the market for a new PC or laptop my budget is 1300$, looking to get something decent that can handle casual gaming maybe overwatch or dauntless or a few steam games. So any ideas on what parts I should get or on any PCs that might actually be worth buying prebuilt
  15. hey so i went and got a cheap camera from walmart today believe it was about 20$ where as it used to be 40-60$, it does everything as advertised and even though people say it doesnt work properly the timestamp on it does in fact keep ticking even when its not recording, however small delays in the time happens as the SD card is removed for any length of time so occasionally you may have to micromanage the minutes that are on it before putting it back in, honestly not that big of a deal, one downside i did notice is the device itself heats up rather badly when plugged in to charge with the official charger, be wary of this as its a potential fire hazard personally i try not to use anything that requires charging or is a charger itself if it heats up like that just from charging/being charged but keep in mind it is cheap, but for that cheap price its actually pretty nice, the camera is wider than i thought it would be, while its not in 1080P or anything its still in 720PHD so it has a fairly clear picture, honestly if it wasn't for its very short night vision detection which wont show an actual person until their basically next to it i would recomend this as a cheap must buy, basically it would work fairly well as a cheap dash cam or even a very cheap rear cam as long as you had a decent size SD card in it like 32GB since thats the biggest it claims to support with 32GB assuming the battery life holds up i would give it approximately 7-10 days of recording time before it starts to write over itself. with all that said if your would be thief will walk next to it with lights off or if theres a small light source somewhere to help it out within X distance its wonderful for use at night, however if they turn on your light which say, a room mate thats prowling through your shit will when your at work its still a fairly decent buy for what you get. however the cons outweigh the pros, the clip slips off things easily including the wall mount, yea it clips to the wall mount.... the adhesive for the wall mount WILL rip paint off your walls so be careful where you place it if you dont use screws or dont want to use them, the adhesive id say is fairly good quality in terms of sticking and bonding, i had to slide my knife between it and the wall to move it to a better spot, the mount swivels completely even the part that attaches to the camera rotates as well however it falls apart very easily once you start sliding it around, if you remember those old bionicle toys with the ball joints yea... its that all over again, night vision works but is very limited without an external light source even though they claim it has an internal one also it doesnt have a flippable camera or gravity sensor like your phone or the gopro etc... so which direction the cameras rotated to matters quite a bit, its really a difference of you being upside down or sideways or something else. theres more i can list but yea, all in all its only really good as a dash/rear cam for a car or monitoring your bedroom when your not at home, however there are potentially a few hacks you can do to make it better or hide it without the stand/clip, the adhesive strip has a small piece that pops out in the middle so it doesnt interfere with a screw fixture in case you decide to use them, so if you have a small place to put it thats out of sight but it can see you, you could place the strip around the front with the camera looking through the hole and have the strip holding it like that, or you can take the small circle you popped out and stick the camera LITERALLY anywhere without potentially obstructing or harming its view, so as far as potential goes for hiding it if you actually think, id give it a solid 4/10 partly because i doubt the company that makes it thought of hiding it with only using the adhesive, then as for hacks youll need to pop the case open and replace or re-organize the components as you see fit, you could also replace a few cheap internals and 3D print a new case or simply buy materials for a DIY kit like linus did yes i did heavily research my local, state and federal laws/statutes that way i am in no way violating a law or creating a loophole for said individual to squeeze through. Anyways, i came home from work one night and i noticed one of my safe keys was missing so i shot someone a text and also confronted the possible offender, two days later i now have a second lockbox this one uses a programmable combination with no default unlock code once programmed, i have both of them hidden in two different places, the literal day after that happens i leave for work i come back home, im missing 2-5$ in quarters off my dresser (laundry change) and what i was saving for a friend had been gotten into, would be offender admitted to both of these, since then i have been locking my bedroom door every night, however i came in this morning and because im OCD and exceedingly anal about every little thing in my room, everything is placed where its placed on purpose i have some things lined up with others that dont seem it specifically for the purpose of knowing if someones touched ANYTHING. things that were moved, lens cleaner, usb microsd card reader, the penny from behind my tv, my knifes were pushed exactly 0.7 inches farther up and were starting to go under my TV, my change pile had been messed with yet again, this time it had a quarter added to it and 12 pennies were gone, my case with my switch games and a few accessories was tossed on the floor, my glass ocarina still in box was close to falling off and i had positioned it perfectly diagonally to make a nice show piece while not blocking what was next to it, the picture i had of my family was also moved from ontop of that to behind it, the painting i have on a glass tab was moved closer to the edge and unevenly so one good bump would of made it fall and break, the inhalers that were lined up with my bedroom tv were moved about 0.5 inches, and my bluetooth dongle for my switch was farther away from the surface meaning the switch dock itself had been moved as well.
  16. Ok, so I'll occasionally install malware, adware, ransomware, Trojans, worms, chargeware and all sorts of stuff on burner phones or old PCs that I don't care about, this time I chose to install adware on my personal phone to test how good my current cell providers Antivirus/antitheft partnership is. Unsurprisingly it's complete and total garbage, it's a program called lookout while it's antitheft and loss prevention is great and honestly over the top, it flagged my phone while it was at my house and in my hands.... Maybe it's not that great when I think about it but the point is it works, however the antivirus side is complete and utter garbage, I had it scan my phone and while scanning the adware actually made a pop up happen, when in game it's a 30second ad and when not in a game it's a browser pop up and it was quite aggressive as well sometimes popping up 5x in a span of 20 minutes, now keep in mind that was with their premium subscription to which is about 10$ a month or 80-120 a year. Then I installed bitdefender and activated the 14 day free trial not only did it find the adware I installed on purpose but it also removed every trace of it, i could not find a single remnant file or anything and I even hooked my phone up to my PC to really dive into it and yes I checked my SD card as well and it to was completely clean. So not only did lookout fail where another that I don't trust either worked, it also kept turning its own VPN on after I turned it off, I actually had to delete it's VPN off my phone to keep it turned off.
  17. again can it be found normally without mods? seriously can you find it in a bottle, on a farm, in a bag etc..? lots of times devs will add things, follow through on making it, then decide its a bad idea or its to controversial and never fully add it, then user A finds said file and makes a mod that calls on it since hey its a finished file its just not in use. they dont usually delete things just incase they decide to use it or re-brand it as something else later, on runescape for example theres a hidden recipe that will get you an item thats used in a quest it involves weed, like literal weeds, a pot used for holding flour and a tinderbox if im not mistaken and the animation is a little risky. so if australias going to ban DayZ they should also ban Runescape, GTA V and tons of others for having potential drug references as well, between censorships bans and all sorts of other things people are just getting ridiculous with it. i remember a game i played awhile ago think it was called earthworm jim his catch phrase for a few things was literally "its time to open a can of whoop ass" and it was directed at 10+ iirc or maybe it was the game with the talking lizard idk it was awhile back, my point if that released now itd likely be tagged 17+
  18. being in the files and being added are two different things entirely, if its not there in a UNMODDED BASE GAME SERVER then it was NEVER FULLY ADDED BY THE DEVS, mods can do a lot of things hell i had a mod on one game that had me killing fire breathing ponys instead of dragons. the files for death knight were in hearthstone literally before it fully released but to my knowledge wasnt added untill way after or still hasnt been, idk i dont play HS anymore
  19. its not worth it for me either, personally i wouldn't wipe my ass with this psuedo VR excuse they have out atm. when full dive releases ill be one of the first in line to snatch it up
  20. Eh, whatever, its been proven marijuana has a ton of real medical applications/uses be it from smoking it, eating it or even ingesting the oils, in the US everyone is slowly legalizing it for medical use however you dont want a weed farm near your house, its one of the foulest smelling farms possible. if the island of inmates wants to ban DayZ over a potential idea the devs had and never fully implemented let them do it, unless they start monitoring your net history the ban won't work itll just put peoples minds at ease, ever hear the old saying "locks only keep honest people out" ? well same thing with bans, people that are honest wont violate it or will be less likely to violate it due to the fact its banned, however others like myself will sit back laugh and begin the torrent or use a VPN which if im not mistaken most of the island inmates use a VPN anyways because their net is literal trash and or ban policies on other things. that sound about right?
  21. yea im still willing to bet its got something different vs the product in the US im actually confident enough to say that if its at a 300USD price point or lower that ill bet an entire year salary its going to be cheaper materials or feel different or maybe even have a lower resolution rate, not be packaged properly etc...
  22. So one of my hobbys is gaming obviously, i find most games these days to be lacking a lot i dont know if its because its all just rehashed crap or if its me getting older, i no longer have that passion that fueled me when i was racing my friends to diamond/grand master every season on some games, that was until i started looking heavily into advancements in both the medical field and our tech field and honestly if you dont get hard off of this, hope may be lost. so lets explain what BCI is first, i dont have all the technical knowledge behind how it works but essentially in one of the tests i read about they had a parapalegic man walk a few feet without help with the use of BCI technology, basically they put the cap on his head, attached the electrodes to his legs and after a lot of trials as well as preparation so he could walk again like building up leg muscles they managed to bypass the damaged nerves entirely and get him to walk, in another study they had a human move a rats tail. now lets get to the product at hand the supposed AR glasses, one of many sources - https://www.virtualperceptions.com/oculus-facebook-ar-glasses-bci/ thats right folks, BCI tech on AR glasses which could potentially fix all the issues of people walking around and falling into manholes and all sorts of other stuff that happened with pokemon go, now im sure people might still fall in but it wont be because of the AR glasses (fingers crossed) and thats not all the good news either, back in 2016 samsung jumped on the wagon with a patent for AR contact lenses. the bad news and maybe even good news depending on how you look at it is Apple has patents and such but they also admitted they cant make them with the right price tag behind them due to how much it costs to make, but we all know apple they like to give us these shiny things and say they cost 1100 dollars and 4 years later you can buy it for about 200$. But anyways to the point of this post and my mindless rambling, if they manage to add BCI technology to AR glasses successfully, not only will we be closer to Augmented Realitys true potential but it could even pave the way for REAL VR, what we have now is neat and really cool and im glad i get to watch it progress but its still lacking and its a far cry away from its full potential look at things like the matrix, yes its a movie but how many things from sci-fi movies actually exist now or are being developed. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmS8P-e7URw - Disclaimer this is only a statue with seeminly minor things like being able to move very few parts for the "transformation" theres another one that shows someone getting into one and actually piloting it, granted it moved very slowly its still proof we could have giant robots to beat each other with someday
  23. in china its also a bootleg product most likely not the real thing, lower plastic quality, worse strap quality, etc... thats like buying a chinese DX racer chair from china for 80$ vs 200$ from the company. the one for 80 is actually made with cheaper material to the point that the bottom of the arm rests actually break before the top does and the pillow things arent as great either + a slight design change thats almost unnoticeable as well as lower quality seat that breaks apart after 6 months of use
  24. Their already unbanned as well as licensed with the SD association again...
