so I was trying to make a new build for somebody, specs are ryzen 5 1600af, corsair vengeance lpx 3200 cl16 ram 16gb, asus b450m-a/csm, asus strix gtx 980. so I had this on a different motherboard originally, asrock b450m hdv rev 4.0, with that mobo with all the components except ssd in mobo and cpu power plugged in the fans would go on for a second then off and stays off, i switched it with the asus to see if it was the mobo, when turned on the lights and fans turn on and stay on and it seems like it is running but no display. another problem is the mobo uses 8pin cpu power and the psu only has 4pin, it is rated for 460w, the fans turned on with half the cpu power connected, is this normal to not even get bios? I hear there is a 4pin to 8pin adapter some say is just "band-aid solution", if that can work what would be downsides? although this psu has worked in the past could it be dead?

I currently have a behringer u-phoria um2 audio interface and for a while I used a mic I found laying around that uses a 1/4” plug, but it was too quiet and had a lot of background noise. With the environment I am in there are some clocks ticking and occasionally people talking so I think a dynamic microphone would be best. Any recommendations on what xlr mic under $100 to get that is loud enough and not too noisy to use with the u-phoria um2?
