Eh, this is a day 1 purchase for me, one of the only games that get me excited these days,
This and MGS are probably the only games worth $60 to me

DevanArianne got a reaction from Bensemus in Its official, new console is Nintendo.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something, but wasn't there a huge outcry for more frequent hardware and console updates last generation and even still this one?
They're not releasing it at the end of the quarter, if anything it will get released really late in 2015, or mid-late 2016, which would make the Wii U 3-4 years old.
With how quickly hardware and the limits of Nintendo consoles are found, I think that's a perfect lifetime of a console. That's just me though.

DevanArianne got a reaction from dalekphalm in Denuvo DRM has been cracked!
Legit Warez, there's an oxymoron.
Also both the previous games with Denuvo have been cracked. Denuvo was never uncrackable. The thing they were proud of, and honestly should be proud of, is that int heir first game released with it it too 38 days for it to be cracked. 15 days is still respectable and useful to combat immediate pirate sales.
I'm never for DRM. I think it's awful, I agree the best DRM is a good service backing your game. But their primary selling point is preventing piracy for the first 2 weeks as that's when most sales happen for a game.

DevanArianne got a reaction from FlamingDefibs in Looks like Dragon Age: Inquisition will be joining the list of uncracked (to date) PC games
Not uncrackable. Both Lords Of The Fallen and Fifa 15 have been cracked. It's just taking longer to make cracks for them.

DevanArianne got a reaction from jarr456 in Flight attendants want to bring back gadget ban during takeoff and landing
Yes, while this is true fro safety reasons phones and other devices should be put away, if you want to go with that logic things like books, magazines, non mechanical children's toys, trays, cups, and anything with any sort of heft to it should also be forced to put away. And if you want to go that far lets go overboard. Since it's hard to predict turbulence, none of those things should ever be out ever on a plane. Also people need to not be allowed to leave their seat, they could trip and fall during turbulence. And they must be strapped down with 58 point harnesses. All of them.

Wow! You two think people should lose their rights if they engage in illegal activities? That is complete madness! Nobody should ever lose their rights, no matter what the crime. I am not saying that people shouldn't be punished but that doesn't mean they should lose their rights.

DevanArianne got a reaction from achillesviper in episode 17 Guilty crown
The second half of Guilty Crown really went to shit, like it was made by a totally different team. If it had ended with Gai dying, and Mana being stopped would have been fine. The second half just got really ridiculous and poorly thought out.

DevanArianne reacted to Nuluvius in Kid spends 37,000 EUR on a free to play game
This is an easy slope to fall down. I myself suffered MMO addiction in my earlier life which destroyed me on just about every level. If I were to calculate the total amount of cash that I have spent on the virtual over the years it would easily fall into the triple digit range. In the time I spent in that very dark place I have watched others do the same around me. I have even encouraged this in others and then subsiquently watched as they destroyed themselves. Combined with strong autistic and obsessive compulsive personality traits this business model can be especially destructive. I recovered by staying away, understanding what my triggers are and keeping myself busy/obsessed with other less destructive things like programming for example.
I can recount one specific incident of note: I was spending time in a particular game when lock boxes had literally just been introduced. The leader of the guild I was a member of at the time, like me, was obsessed with needing to own absolutely every item. With the addition of the lock box model and thus the one time only, time limited item model plus lock box keys appearing in its pay2play/pay2win micro transaction model, his destruction was realised. We were up late one night and he kept on spending money from his credit card trying to roll a particular item from the boxes he had amassed (also with cash). After he had spent the first $200 he would say to me "just another couple of $$, I know its really close now". I would tell him that he had clearly gone off the rails and to stop... this did nothing to deter him though because he was fixated at this point. $500 (that he had admitted to) later he had acquired two of the same item he was originally after and was finally satiated.
It was on vent the very next day when we were all discussing some unrelated matter that we heard his wife come into the room with him. She began shouting at him, demanding to know what all of the money had been spent on. The row escalated terribly and we all heard him getting slapped/punched around the head and face before he signed off.
While I think these business models are inherently evil, I don't think it's necessarily the fault of the companies for exploiting them. At the end of the day they are only utilizing a methodology for generating revenue. Moreover if the consumer demand was not prevalent in that direction then they would ultimately not succeed (given there is also valid argument for the engineering of that demand in the first place). Generally all of this is probably not that dissimilar to the machinations of gambling, drugs, tobacco and alcohol (the latter two being a form of drug).

DevanArianne reacted to OlekKing in 15 year old kid spends more then 30K for an online F2P
The kid was clearly the tech nerd at the house, clearly understood how a credit card works, clearly linked it to his iTunes accounts yet he says he didn't know he was paying real money?

DevanArianne got a reaction from Technous285 in Valve, curator transparency and #GamerGate
When it's just a plane recommendation, then yes, a large bias is fine. But when you're getting into games where people are spending significant chunks of money, bias ruins things. These are the people you use to make purchasing decisions. They drive where your money goes.
If you had someone you really trusted with investments. They then sign a deal with a company that they will get paid to advise people to pay into a business. That business then turns out to be a sham, and all the money disappears. Millions of dollars are lost.
That is what happened with #GamerGate, just at a bit of a smaller level.
No one is saying that every review should be completely objective. But what we want is the subjective parts to be because of the reviewers own personal enjoyment, not because they were paid off or because they slept with someone at the company.

SO basically if "crime" (even something as a bar fight 4 blocks away that the police think could have possibly happened [notice the MAY have occured] at some point in the last 200 years) They can seize and copy any of your electrical media if you are try to obscure it through any way that involve "technology"?
Am I getting that right? Cause if I am, I have also noticed I'm missing my pants, I'm straddling a barrel and the law is railing me hard with their night sticks of "justice".
