  1. So I've built the PC, everything is hooked up.. but I can't install Windows. I use the USB and I make it to the first initial screen where I need to click next and it freezes. I have the msi meg ace mb and the code is usually stuck on 68-70 which are initializations. I can't power off the PC with the button, I have to turn off the PSU. What do I do????
  2. Building my pc, down to the last cable. The 2x4 pin CPU cable doesn't match the slot on my motherboard. What do I do? I have the EVGA g3 850w PSU and the msi Meg ace mb
  3. True. Well, when the reviews come out if Intel wins, I'll just get the i9-9900k, kraken x62, and appropriate motherboard.
  4. From what I've been reading and seeing lately, the likeliness of that is pretty slim. But we'll see I suppose.
  5. Oof... Most of the parts you mentioned are the ones I already have. Luckily the case isn't too expensive. I currently actually have a EVGA 850w g3 but was worried it wouldn't be good enough for the higher end stuff like the cpu and gpu. It's like a b-tier or something. As for the case, I watched some reviews, gamers Nexus for example, and said that the case wasn't anything groundbreaking but the thermals weren't awful. Idk, the whole thing kinda confused me. I'll definitely look into the cooling for the cpu though, but then again, I'll probably need another case and this one is pretty compact.
  6. That's mainly what it's gonna be used for, yeah. Might also look into getting a Wacom tablet later down the road and try some digital art
  7. Still on the journey of building my first PC. A lot has changed since my original post and I thought I'd post an updated list of the parts I'm looking into to get some feedback on compatibility/better alternatives. Anyway, here's the build plan. Case: NZXT H500 Motherboard: Croshair Vlll Hero WiFi (x570) CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x or Ryzen 7 3800x (whichever is best for gaming) CPU cooling: Plan on using fan that comes with the CPU Memory: Corsair vengeance rgb pro 16gb 3200 Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 1TB Seagate Barracuda 2TB GPU: RTX 2080 Super PSU: Corsair HX1000 80+ plat Monitor: Asus Rog Strix XG32VQ 31.5in curved 1440p 144hz Thermal Compound: Grizzly kryonaut Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Keyboard: Corsair K95 Platinum.
  8. Was looking at getting this monitor but wanted to get some second opinions on it, as well as any recommendations on better alternatives. Mainly gonna be doing gaming, lots of RPGs and some gtav
  9. Hey, so I'm watching some build guide videos and it's recommended that I get a wrist band that connects to a ground to protect the parts while I'm building. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any trustworthy brands of them as Amazon reviews averaged like 2-3 stars which is scary when building a $2500 PC. Thanks in advance
  10. Gonna be building my first PC soon and was originally going with the Ryzen 7 2700x with the hero vii wifi board. (I think that's the one, it's like $280) Was told to wait and see what Ryzen was gonna put out at computex and was wondering now that the new CPUs have been revealed, which is best to go with? And should I get a different motherboard aswell or will the hero be good enough? Mainly gonna be doing gaming, going for 1440p high frame rates. Getting the rtx2080
  11. So, I'm currently in the process of getting all the parts for my first PC. Everything seemed fairly simple but then along came the monitor and a ton of reviews going in both directions for each one, debates about tn vs ips, refresh rate and response times, etc. Its a bit overwhelming and I just want the best monitor I can get without worry of dead pixels, ghosting, bleeding, and all the other scary things that pop up in reviews. Right now, I've narrowed my search down to 3(kind of 4) monitors that I'm interested in and would greatly appreciate any feedback that I could get to help me pull the trigger on one of them. 1. Asus ROG STRIX XG32VQ 31.5" curved 1440p 144hz 2. Asus ROG SWIFT PG278QR 27" 1440P 165hz(TN 1ms) 3. ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27" 1440p (IPS 4ms) 4.Viotek GFT27DB 27" 144hz 1ms TN
  12. I also plan on getting a 3tb Seagate barracuda. But this is basically the essentials list to start playing, and then get that a little later on when the money comes in xd
  13. Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely gonna wait then, if that's the case. I'd like to get the most for my $
  14. So, after watching a load of videos me and my brother have both decided to get our first PC's. Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you guys gave me your thoughts on my planned build. Case: NZXT H500 MO: Asus Rog Strix X-470-F CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x GPU: Asus RTX 2080 ROG Strix gaming oc Ram: Corsair Vengeance rgb pro 16gb (2x8) 3200 Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500gb ssd PSU: EVGA supernova g3 750w 80+gold Monitor: Asus Rog swift 27" 1440p 165hz 1ms Keyboard: Corsair k95 rgb Platinum Mainly wanna play games at 1440p with high frame rates. Wanna download some gta mods and play around. Wanna oc the GPU and CPU so was wondering if I should replace the cooler that comes with the ryzen 7 with a nzxt kraken x62 rev 2. Also, do I need to order any additional fans as I hear the h500 case isn't the best in terms on air flow or should I be alright? Also, does it come with thermal paste or should I get some grizzly kryonaut. Thanks for any feedback that you guys give :) it's greatly appreciated. Like I said, this is my first time venturing into the world of pc building or playing, so sorry if I ask some obvious questions lol
