It was a hero board. Its not the cpu, That can still be oced to 5.2. Even in a different board. Msi gaming 7. It fell in between slots 1 and 2, slot 1 being on the outer edge. I could just chuck a single big stick in it. Is what she said. There doesnt appear to be much sitting between those slots. But i dunno

Wondering what to do with my maximus ix that i borked. Its been sitting in the cupboard for a few years. So the problem, well i was doing going back to air cool after water cooling. Passion fingers here, dropped the cpu, so it landed between ram slots. After that only the outer ram slot worked. Im guessing it cracked some traces somewhere. The cpu has been passed down to a new machine long ago and works fine. The mb works fine, if theres only 1 stick of ram in it. Sure, it can be passed down to mum. Or should i try and bake it?

Yes wrong. Oc under custom water didnt really go above 60d and was nearly silent. Currently running a dark rock 4 because i cant be bothered cleaning the odds and ends. Its usually 11 - 12 deg over ambient @ idle and about 50 - 65 gaming. While under water my 9700k usually ran about 4-6 degrees over ambient at idle, and usually sat around 45 @ 4.7. Not sure about oc id end up with blue screens with a 750w seasonic. Air is as usually as good as a aio, thats not usually the case when you go silent custom loop. Airs a bit louder but depends if you want to save 10d or not.

Depends on your cpu and mb. Are you going to be upgrading anytime in the future?

Dropped a delided cpu on the ram and smashed the threading on the mb. So only 1 ram slot worked. Thats was a maximus ix. A expensive lesson. So i was just passing parts onto my kid. The i7700k does 5.3 oc. Silicone lottery. She doesnt need a oc. Theres a cryorg h7 on it now, so theres maybe 30mm between the rear cpu fan and the rear exit holes. I feel air being blown out the back, and meh, if i had a spare quiet pwm fan id put that in and be done with it. I cant be bothered testing.

So Ive put a cryorg h7+ on a i7 7700k. Theres probably less than 10mm between the rear rad fan and the start of the rear exit fan. So less than 20mm. So i removed it. Should i put it back on?

If its a thin rad silent wings 3 do alright. Only 1000rpm @ max. Nice and quiet. Ive got some noctuas on a 45mm intake rad and silents pushing out through a 30 rad. Ive never hit max speed on any fans. You can always paint the brown if it must be Nocs.

I had one of those. It was in my loop for a hour before i drained it and threw it in a box never to be seen again. Most of them seem to be made of aluminium as well. Something to keep in mind. Im guessing the fact you need it means you dont have water temp headers on your motherboard?

I got the fan mount and drilled some holes in the hd cage. A Different case though. Hard to say, do you have rads, fans front. Can you pull out that stupid vertical strip thing it has. How bigs your gpu.

Damn that Corsair thing is ugly. It looks like someone making finger glasses on themselves. I wouldnt buy anything from thermal take. Ive got a heatkiller iv myself. I dont think they do a rbg version, but i guess you could drill some holes and stick some leds in. Had a Alphacool eisblock that you can get a rbguv ring for. Depending on your budget barrow or bykski make some that look like eks.
