  1. I unfortunately do not have a choice but to order parts at different times. Motherboard would be fist purchase and cpu second. I have the psu and ram from current rig to make sure the parts work when received. As for the time frame everything would be got within 2 months. The liquid cooling that i stated (may or may not install) i stated correctly. It was merely staying that I'm open to the hotter cpus that are generally better with liquid cooling that can still run safely with air in the mean time. The 2 months of warrant isn't really that big of a deal breaker as I'm open to deal finding and most likely won't be brand new already. The case and gpu will be new. The liquid loop if i decide to install would be a dc5 pump with res. And probably a thick 360mm radiator. Ordering the specific cpu block and gpu block needed for the build.
  2. Budget: 1000 plus Theme: black and red* Country: united states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: typical triple a games and some vr. Other details: .This build i am planning to gather the parts over the next few months. I will be tossing 250$ each check to get parts. Over all id say 1000$. For the GPU i do want a higher end card but it wouldn't be the tie for the over all build price point. Im biased and do perfer intel. RGB accepted. Noy specifically planning anything for overclocking. Not doing liquid cooling yet. Once build is complete i may or may not do custom liquid loop. Perfer a nvme drive for boot. I have a ssd for extra space and a hdd for just saving my random stuff. Im EST. And will communicate back around midnight each night.
  3. I'm just in the planning stages. Haven't thought of any software yet. I have 12 or 15xpoweredge 1950. But those sucker suck the power. Ill experiment with the gaming pc first as I'm not familiar with it. The motherboard in the gaming pc only had 2 slots for gpus. So only 2 players?
  4. Current equipment is 2 xeon CPUs. Have to look to get the exact cpu to tell u correctly. It has 256gb of ram. 4x 1tb ssd drives. No I'm not rich. And yes the server would be like the nvidia thing. I have gigabyte internet at home. And I the server has dual gigabyte nic ports built into the motherboard. I have a random 10gig nic card. Not in use as don't have a network that can utilize it. Wanting to play games with my friends online. Different states. Possibly a few in different county's. Not competing with nvidia or any other company's that do this. Just a private thing. Ill get the specific CPUs info tomorrow when I can. And yes. It is a older system. Nothing fancy. It's a Dell poweredge r something. Was used when minecraft was started and it hosted a minecraft world for about a year until I took it off line because I was done playing Minecraft. Older equipment. Possible games, eco, factorio, colony survival, rust. A couple others but yea. I also have my old gaming pc. It's spec is i9-9900k, 32gb ddr4, 500gb nvme 2x 1tb ssd, 1x10tb ironwolf hdd. Original gpu I had was a 2080ti fe. But it ended up failing. Currently gtx titan black. Fully water-cooled system. (Should definitely drain it and change it's fluids before I turn her on)
  5. Ok so I'm building a server specific for hosting different game servers. Possibly only 1 game at a time or more. Still in planning. Wanting to know if a k80 tesla or other card of the like would be worth getting for this use? I know I can't game on them directly. But using the gpus for cloud game possibly? Just asking if the tesla cards could be good for this project or just get a couple normal gtx or rtx cards?
  6. Update. The distance was actually measured today. It's more like 650-700ft. Also. Reason why I was interested is coax was because I already had the coax(pictured below). And the stated coax use speed is acceptable upto 1640ft. Which orginaly estimate distance was within. I don't want to spend an arm and leg for additional equipment that would be over kill. Was Interested in knowing more about these things https://www.walmart.com/ip/X-RJAX-Snap-In-Coax-Female-to-Male-Combo-Kit-Black/447285679?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1148&&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9014958&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112562587&wl11=online&wl12=447285679&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6ar4BRDnARIsAITGzlCB1JziliZ1apFYLMuIj1He5-14TZCzaHwTdJVMxQ_F0a0GevO5uekaAjyQEALw_wcB
  7. Most likely it's the difference band the wifi is broadcasting on. My guess is it's a newer system. 2.4ghz or 5ghz. 802.11ac is the typical used in newer system. Ur adapter may be the older 802.11 a/b/g/n devices. This is a usb 3.0 model
  8. Was the USB wifi adapter an old cheap adapter? The wireless signal can u access it on ur phone? I have good experience with Netgear ac1200 USB adapters u can get them cheap on eBay or most Walmarts.
  9. Hello everyone. My friend in the country has asked me to do something I haven't ever actually done. He has 400mbs TWC service at his house. The house isnt the issue. He has a few barns. The furthest barn he installed a pretty nice camera system. But it's out in the barn 1500ft away from the house. I have an entire spool of coax cable. Looking online tells me I can do 1640ft. Ok sweet. But how do I connect coax to Ethernet. Camera system has rj45 and the modem at the house has rj47. I have crimpers and compressor to make end for just about anything I need to do. I orginaly planned on cat5e but I'd need multiple switch's to do the job which I do have. But the coax looks the most straight forward. Any knowledge appreciated.
  10. I just happen to have found a Intel® Xeon Phi™ Processor 7290. I've been salvaging servers and this little baby was in one. I was wanting to know any possible way to force this crazy thing faster. I know their locked. But even a slight over clock on all 72 cores!!!! Don't care if it burns. It's scrap anyways (no not selling as the salvage company is not licensed to do so. I can however play with the equipment Inside the facility as long as it's eventually destroyed and scraped)
  11. i mess with software all the time. i dont really mess with hardware. the card looks to be in perfect condition. fans are completely clean. no scratches. no dings. which is why i would perfer someone that actualy knows what their doing be the one to take it apart.
  12. ok so i have an rtx 2080ti founders edition. i found the card in a pallet of merchandise i bought in an auction. so theirs no warrenty. i placed it in my pc and i got a display. great right! well no. altho i got a display and had all the correct drivers. it cant do any games at all. it cant even bench test. first off it acts like its thermal throttling. fans are working as they should. i get 15fps. ive been searching online for a long time now for help on fixing it. no i dont have an amazing pc i have a i3 7th gen. 16g Ram and i recieved a samsung evo m.2 for christmas last year. my original gpu is a outdated gtx 970 and it smashes the 2080ti. i was hoping that maybe linus would do a youtube series fixing viewers systems but i dont think their gonna take that rout. anyone have a recomendation as to how to fix this gpu? im software based knowledge not hardware. their are no repair places at all. best buy says no. microcenter says no to working on it.
  13. What system prep? Is that the flushing all the parts first before putting together? I honestly just thought I put it together and that's it.
  14. Anyone have a link to buy these? Works great I just want to use on my expansion and another PC I'm working on and I only have the one.
  15. No I did not clean the loop and parts. Didn't know I needed to do that. I'll drain it and refill it here in a few hours when I have the time. The stuff floating looks like light yellow flower. I taped the resovor and it started floating down. I immediately shit it off. As for the concentrate. I'll try to find the bottle to get the correct name
  16. Additional photos of loop. CPU block. And pump and fittings. Everything was purchased new.
  17. Ok so I built my system. Recently upgraded to liquid cooling. Loops is just over 4weeks old. And I have this stuff in the resovor floating. What is it? Coolant is distilled water with concentrate added based off the directions mixed with correct amount. New to liquid cooling. Please be nice as I am new. And I already understand I could of done something wrong which is why I'm here asking. I don't need negativity. Try trying to find out with it is. Correct it. And more on.
  18. Oh yes of course. Before I do anything else I'll run that like u said and post it.
  19. Drivers were removed before changing over the the rtx card. Drivers were updated to the latest drivers. And Nvidia tech support even had me try rolling back drivers to more stable versions. Other than that Nvidia was no help other wise. Since their is no warranty. Also installed it into a second PC at my house. Exactly same out come. From all the looks. It's either thermal throttling or a faulty temp sensor. And the repair shop I take my stuff to doesn't usually do the kinda of work I being in for them to do. So I'm hoping it's just thermal throttling and it needs proper thermal pads. I'm in Ohio. But have no clue on a proper place to take the card to to check out the pads.
  20. I have a Nvidia rtx 2080ti fe purchased second hand so theirs no warranty. Using heaven benchmark. It gets 25-35fps in 1080p all settings at lowest. My GTX Titan black stays around 60-70fps. My specs are i9-9900k, 32gb Corsair vengeance ddr4. z390 aorus master. 1000watt EVGA PSU. And a Samsung Evo m.2 500gb. 2x 1tb wd HDD. This sweet up should not be bottlenecking anywhere. Full custom liquid loop. Now the temps. Everything shows at full load balanced at 41c the rtx shows from cold start 89c no matter what I do. I do not take the gpu apart. Is their a place I can send this to besides Nvidia (as they will not) to see if it has the proper thermal pads in place where they should.
