not saying its bad, but I like lower numbers  I did unfortunately have to give up my beloved CM elite 110 case for a Nano S but the temp drop is worth it.
Plus it doesn't heat up my room anymore. its warm enough here at the moment.

    Sorry about the slow reply,
I looked at a few of the suggestions, and settled on the Acer Swift 3 14 (with MX150) thankfully a local store had one in and viewable and it was cheaper than the devices I was looking at, just got to set it up now.

    Many thanks again!

I've just done some quick comparisons between the NF-F12 and SW2.
Regarding air pressure for my radiator the noctua's are much better it seems, but for general airflow I believe the SW3 would be better, so I may end up just getting Noctua for my radiator and SW3 for case fans

Looking at them now specifically the SW3 High speed ones, 77CFM at around 28dBa, Noctuas are 55CFM at 22dBa
Them fractals look good, but don't seem to be as powerful as the recommended silent wings

Yeah I was looking mostly at 27" originally because thats what the ROG line was, but basically its that ROG monitor in a smaller form factor.
That AOC monitor does look interesting but the advantage I have with the Dell is I know their quality, AOC while good at times generally lack the quality overall I have seen with Dell monitors, but I shall definitely look into it.

Purchasing a system like this is entirely between the customer and the seller, if the customer wants to buy it at that price let them, no matter how criminal it is (Well it isn't but for us it is.)
Also they are not lying when they say its a "Gaming PC" it can play solitaire so technically it is a gaming PC even though consoles can likely wreck this thing.

Speaking from the other end of the specturm based upon your post
Using an R9 290 4GB dual screen doesn't even phase the GPU as just the desktop requires so little really for todays hardware.
I do agree though on older hardware it could be an issue depending on screen reso.

XDroidie626 got a reaction from daniel_taylor55 in htc vive or a new laptop
Personally I would get the laptop, VR is still in its infancy and they are all gen1 products currently, plus there is not many games for VR currently.
The laptop you have ain't that bad either but I have to agree an i7 + 960M is a massive improvement over your current system.
Go laptop, wait for VR to mature and save up while waiting, and save up for some games with it!

I went to my local shop and tried a few headphones, I tried some Marshall Major 2 (None bluetooth) which when I selected the right EQ worked wonderfully, I know there closed headphones but they where £51 (Got a different color)
I tried a few Sennheisers but they didn't sound as good for the price at least, the only ones that beat the Marshals where my current IE headphones or Sennhiesers Momentum overheads.

    Thanks for the advice all

I would personally image Windows first just for safety reasons BUT I have done this before and I had no issues at all, just depends what you want to use.
You can use Wubi (Windows Ubuntu Installer) if you want to run Ubuntu, its got slightly less performance than a standard install but its safe.

Okay so I was watching Linus video this morning and was wondering, could unRAID allow you to run OSX almost natively in a VM (Set to boot up directly to this partition)
Then allowing passthrough of the GPU, so in my case a 750Ti currently.

What are your thoughts on this? how easy would it be? and would it be worth actually doing?

    Thanks!

XDroidie626 got a reaction from LynxThe1st in C000021A BSOD - Hits 6 PCs at once.
Okay community, I have a strange but interesting question for you.
At work there are 6 PCs we call Bonders, they control furnaces via WinCC and run WinXP (There isolated), and on thursday we had a weird issue were all 6 went down together with the same error, C000021A.
Now I have researched this issue of course and it turns out its to do with WinLogon and some other core files.
Now I have got 3 working thankfully via System restore, these work perfectly now but there are 3 still affected and we cant use restore because who ever built them decided to turn restore points off (Very strange)
Here is what I have tried.

    F-Secure Scanning and also disabling.
    Removing GPU drivers.
    chkdsk /f /r /x (Starts a 5 phase scan).
sfc /scannow (Wont work thanks to XP not auto detecting CD)
Cloning a working PC to another (They are all identical in hardware)
Removing the standard user (Easiest way to find the error) and allowing Windows to rebuild the user.

Now we can do XP recovery via CD but it can be risky as these are mission critical PCs so errors can cause issues, although we do have 1 PC imaged.

What could you suggest for this error?

    Thanks

XDroidie626 got a reaction from DHelios in Razer Scammed Consumers on the Blade/Blade Stealth with the Core
$1800 (with GTX 970) is not a bad price considering.
Think of it logically for a moment, you get a PC, Screen, KBM, a GPU and Dock AND its portable.
I can easily spend $2000 on a desktop that I cant take with me, sure its more powerful but you really do not need all that power these days.
For my usage if I could afford that much and I wanted a first gen product I would jump at this, I could use the laptop to do my daily work, come home and when it comes to games plug it in and enjoy.
Its a good deal to be honest, not a scam and lets face it Razer makes dam good products, I can spend way over $2000 on a macbook with less power, sure it has OSX but for gaming heh.
Plus there is the early adopter tax, its new technology using thunderbolt so would explain its price, give it a year it will be half that.

So please justify your argument a bit better and do the research first.

XDroidie626 got a reaction from suxen in What can Quantum Computing do for gaming?
Quantum computers are not designed or built for gaming so nothing, they have a very specific workload which is heavily invested in maths, so encryption and other complex problems.
Although the question does stand, Can it run crysis?

XDroidie626 got a reaction from Tallix in Where Can I Get a Vanilla Chrome OS Download?
You cant get a vanilla chrome OS install for anything but for chromebooks, this requires a Chromebook recovery tool image, but even then if you get that it more than likely wont work due to hardware identification, if it doesn't match its database it will treat it at tampered and wont allow chrome OS to boot.
your options are chromium OS (open source version of Chrome OS and without the licences)
    There is also chromiixum http://chromixium.org/
This is basically based on Ubuntu.

Another way you could do this is run a server edition of your favourate Linux distro or Arch Linux/Gentoo and build a barebones using the budgie desktop and installing chrome os, although you still wont have all the licences for stuff like silverlight.

XDroidie626 got a reaction from kirashi in Where will you go after Windows 10?
there will always be a backup, at work we connect to GP with PC IDs, if this ID is altered it will fail to connect to AD, stop any licences and other programs linked to gpupdate.
To re-register we simply put a new name in AD and wait for SCCM to accept, a similar system could work but it would require a help desk for it to work, and I expect an additional charge.
Other way is like with Chrome OS but you still need somewhere to physically store data this is no way it can be avoided, you need to have a micro kernel that allows connection to a service.
