Hi all So last night my girlfriends GPU decided to give up, but the card was nothing amazing (old 750ti) and she was playing at 720p 60fps So I think it's time to bring her into something much more modern, 1080p 60fps, we are going to look at a new monitor today and will be looking at GPUs also So the picks are either 1050ti strix or 560 strix, there's around £30 difference. The games are things like wow (no raiding) sims 3/4, TF2 etc I am thinking of getting the 1050ti but is it worth £30? Many Thanks

But would you say the hd600 are worth the price or get either 990 pro/598
-
I would love a pair of HD600, there about £300 here in the UK, Which unfortunately puts Massdrop out of the question for me. I may try spring for the HD600 as I love the design as well as their reputation, I believe Linus had some for about 5 years with no issue, its just that initial £300 then the need for an AMP eventually.

Morning All, So I am looking at improving my Audio experience for 2018, I am coming from a pair of Marshall Major 2s', the main reason for change is to switch to open back so I can still hear when people call me, plus the Majors get fatiguing after an hour or so. I am currently looking at the Beyerdyanmics DT990 Pro 250Ohm and pairing it with a Schiit Fulla 2 so I can put it in my bag for work. My main source of music is spotify, I do use the extreme quality setting, although I am not 100% sure this actually affects anything, I do have some local files also which I listen to, my music is generally pop and remixes. These will also be used for gaming, but are not my main priority for these, mostly music. I was looking at the HD598SR also but the DT990 look more appealing to me. Many Thanks and have a great Christmas!

I had a look at them and I agree they are classics. I ended up finding a refurb K65 from a reputable retailer for around £40 off the normal price, and £60 from my local retailer!

Hello All, So I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard for my desk, main use is for gaming, but also heavy typing as I am a univesity student. I am currently looking at either the K70 or the K65 (RGB editions) as they are around the price point I want and have actual mechanical switches. Can someone else recommend something? I am still a bit unsure if I want full size or no number pad keyboard just yet. Many Thanks

Hello all I am looking for a new Bluetooth keyboard to use with my Mac and Windows PCs and I'm unsure exactly which maybe best. I don't game as much as I used to anymore so that's not a concern for me. I'm currently looking at 3 keyboards Microsoft surface or the ergo surface keyboard and the Logitech k380. Which would you suggest? I'm leaning towards the surface keyboard mostly as it's full size (not a priority for me) and also the leather on the ergo worries me as it will likely get damaged. Thanks

Ok thanks, some reason I didn't think of that

Hi All, So just recently (like in the last 10 mins) I have noticed my 1080 buzzing at the 8pin power connector, I have never heard this before. Currently running Diablo 3 (In the town) its pulling 143W which is well below its recommended value. There should be no cooling problems as its sitting at around 50-60C, also I have used cards with more power draw on this PSU before, I only purchased it at the back of last year. Its fine when at the desktop or D3 is in the background, only when load is put on the card. Suggestions as ill take it back if need be. Thanks

Thanks, had to rebuild it just to get 2 fans on the cooler, lovely case, can be an arse to work in.

Hi All, So I just wanted to share my rig which is finally complete. Specs are as follows: Ryzen 7 1700 OC to 3.7Ghz Cooler Master Seidon 120m /w x2 NF-F12 push/pull Gigabyte AB350M-Gaming 3 Motherboard 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000Mhz OC to 3200Mhz Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 OC to 2000Mhz 120GB Samsung 840 Evo + 500GB Samsung 850 Evo Gaming Drive x2 BeQuiet SilentWings 3 case fans Phanteks Evolv mATX case EVGA Supernova 620w G2 What you can't see Magicforce mechanical keyboard Logitech G502 gaming mouse Dell S2716DG QHD Gaming monitor with G-Sync Bose Companion 2 speakers I am rather happy with it, getting around 125FPS at 1440p Ultra settings in COD Infinite Warfare, GPU hits around 61 degrees C while CPU stays under 40 degrees C under load. I will eventually be getting an LED strip but I haven't had a look at them and it wasn't on my original build list.
-
Hi LucasRem Currently my SP120 quiet editions are loud, my PC is currently at idle and they are loud, even though my CPU is only at around 30 degrees C. I have used custom profiles before but it doesn't seem to make a difference on these fans, the board I run them on is a AB350M-Gaming 3, currently allowing the CPU to control the fan speed.
-
Yeah but mine run through a fan controller that is wired into the CPU header slot, like all my fans (Design of the Phanteks controller) I suppose I could do it with the IPPC fans and set the curve in the BIOS.
-
I've just done some quick comparisons between the NF-F12 and SW2. Regarding air pressure for my radiator the noctua's are much better it seems, but for general airflow I believe the SW3 would be better, so I may end up just getting Noctua for my radiator and SW3 for case fans
-
How so, I have been researching their fin design and its interesting, looking at that color doesn't look to bad with black
-
Looking at them now specifically the SW3 High speed ones, 77CFM at around 28dBa, Noctuas are 55CFM at 22dBa Them fractals look good, but don't seem to be as powerful as the recommended silent wings
-
Hello All, So I am currently looking at switching to Noctuas fans on my CPU cooler, mostly for acoustics, I currently do have some SP120 Quiet editions and they are rather loud. Now I have been looking at the IPPC versions but they are loud, and it defeats the idea of getting new fans, but the color of the standard NF F12 wont go with my build I don't think. So how do the RPM cables work on the IPPC versions? do you get a decent reduction in noise? or will I have to restore to limiting max RPM to like 1000RPM? Thoughts? Thanks

I can fit 27" on my desk, its just we have the family 21.5" iMac here also, but with a slight bit of movement I could easily fit it on the desk, I was thinking more of the distance I sit. Another thing is price, is the acer worth more money for IPS and a different chassis
-
Yeah I was looking mostly at 27" originally because thats what the ROG line was, but basically its that ROG monitor in a smaller form factor. That AOC monitor does look interesting but the advantage I have with the Dell is I know their quality, AOC while good at times generally lack the quality overall I have seen with Dell monitors, but I shall definitely look into it.
-
That dell is a nice bit of kit, but during looking I found a 24" monitor with the same specs, given my desk I think 24" maybe better, also its £499 instead of like £600 which is always nice. Thats rather crappy customer support is that, I generally avoid Asus due to having a lot of motherboard issues with them.

Hello All, So to compliment my new rig I am looking at getting a new monitor, I have a 1080p monitor and it doesn't do my GTX1080 justice. So I decided to spend a bit of money on a new monitor, something that is 1440p and around 120Hz, ideally with G-Sync enabled as my GPU is putting out like 120+ FPS in COD Infinite Warfare and other titles at ultra. I am currently looking at the ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR but the Acer Predator XB271HU is also rather tempting. I do not really want to exceed the price of the Asus monitor, this is already a lot of money to be spending on a monitor but since its something I look at a lot and I plan for it to last me a long time I think its worth it. What would you suggest, really its a case of I/O and what display technology do I want, personally I am not too bothered about the ports and the technology but would like a second opinion for people more in the know about displays and who may actually own one of the two. Many Thanks
-
Okay so I have seen the hybrid one for £520, which I find a much better value, my only issue maybe the radiator but I think using it as an exhaust maybe an idea with my CPU cooler going out top.
-
Around £48 more for EVGA, I may look into it to see what the core differences are
-
Ive seen around £420 but it was a Palit single fan setup, I thought no straight away, Gigabyte G1 which I am looking at is a good solution at the moment, I wanted the strix but wasn't going to pay extra £100
-
Well watching Pauls hardware 1080 is unaffected due to GDDR5X memory, I found one at £480 with Gigabytes cooler on it. I have also seen a Titan X Maxwell for £480 but I would much prefer Pascal
