  1. I do a fair few conference calls, but I also hear people on laptops in calls, so maybe its not too much of a concern as long as they can hear me.
  2. Hi All, I am looking to get some wireless headphones and not sure which to get. So for starters I am using Android, and yes I know airpods are designed for iPhone, but they also apparently work very well on Android. The reason I am looking at the airpods is the mics, theyre know to have decent mics for what they are, plus they let a lot of sound in so when people are talking to me and things are happening around me I can still hear them. However, the sony has ANC and can also pick up voices while its active, but the mic seems rubbish. Any thoughts? Thanks
  3. That was my plan originally, I’ll go for that Thanks!!
  4. Is it worth the risk? I’m hearing on reddit there crap my other choice is a 35mm f1.8, upgrade from kit
  5. So I have an old 50mm 1.7 Pentax SMC lens that was my dads, and I was wondering is it worth buying a cheap adapter to use it? this is the adapter. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotodiox-Mount-Adapter-Pentax-Camera/dp/B003Y31A2W i understand I can’t use auto features but that’s part of the reason I want to try it. anything to consider like focal length and image quality loss? thanks
  6. Okay! so I am looking at an iPad, this will be my first iPad, to replace my older laptop. Over the last 6 months I’ve used my laptop less and less and moved more to my iPhone XS. But being the filthy casual I am my gaming is more on iOS these days, and I’ll be getting the arcade when that comes out. so I am looking at which iPad, I would obviously spring straight for the pro, but is the price justification worth it? Ill also be using it as a notepad/drawing book. thoughts? thanks
  7. Hi All, I am looking for some advice towards building a PC specifically designed for Handbrake and MakeMKV, although MakeMKV is already covered by the drive in use. I know the application relies on multicore performance more than pure clock speed but I would like to keep everything on the cheap with this build as its going to be a secondary PC also used as a NAS. I was thinking possibly a 2200G may do okay with this? or maybe look second hand? Thoughts Thanks
  8. Hi All, So the other day I ordered a second hand LG 27" 4K HDR monitor from Amazon, cost me around £317, I knew there could be slight cosmetic damage with the item but I was willing to take the risk. When the monitor arrived it came in the LG box, but it turned out to be an Asus PB27UQ monitor (27" 4K non-HDR) and I am wondering if I should keep it. I did inform amazon about the issue, and they gave me the option to either send it back within 7 days and get a full refund, or keep the monitor with no extra charge. Now this monitor is a professional grade monitor to my understanding and its worth like £200 more than what I ordered. It does fine for my needs which are basically digital drawing, photo editing, games on PC and PS4 Pro, and I am wondering should I just keep this monitor? What are your thoughts? Many Thanks
  9. While it was on my list my local stores don't seem to have it at all (we have quite a few stores here also lol)
  10. Hello everyone So I am due a new contract and I am looking at springing for a high end phone as I spend most of my time on that these days. So let me list my usage Netflix (offline) YouTube (both offline and off, I want to download high quality videos and would like to hit higher resolution) Games (paid premium games and android emulators like retroarch) Heavy web browsing Emails, texts, WhatsApp Heavy picture taking (mostly family pictures) Google music (i use both Bluetooth for car and hd300 for headphones) There maybe more but that's the important things I think I want to stay with android because I have so much stuff with my account and im not sure about emulators on iPhone. What phone would you recommend, again I want a high end phone with excellent performance and good battery life when it's not doing much, an excellent screen for my content watching and is HDR possible? I'm leaning towards s9+ even though I don't normally like samsung. Suggestions Many thanks
  11. Trust me, that kid will break things on my desk, he does like to watch, although his mum doesn't like him watching because "she doesn't want he to play games and use computers a lot" like hes got a choice
  12. not saying its bad, but I like lower numbers I did unfortunately have to give up my beloved CM elite 110 case for a Nano S but the temp drop is worth it. Plus it doesn't heat up my room anymore. its warm enough here at the moment.
  13. I wanted to use my NZXT X62 but I dunno where the pump cable is I will be swapping when I find it. Also I used to raid back in WotLK and got bored, plus I don't have time due to family (got an 11 month old) plus I don't have the patience anymore lol, will be trying mythic dungeons in BFA, slacked off a lot in legion due to work and having a baby.
  14. Hi All I wasn't really sure how to word this but I just wanted to post about liquid cooling your GPU using the NZXT Kraken G12. So I have a GTX 1080Ti Mini from Zotac, it runs at about 80c under load, thermal paste was applied well but it still ran super hot and I didn't want it to. So I invested around £30 in the bracket and another £50 ish on a H55 AIO. The task is daunting at first, it looks like it wont work at first, and theres always the fear of breaking an extremely expensive GPU but I pressed on and I am extremely happy with the results. In the UK we are going through a bit of a heat wave so I think I timed this just right. So for a super quick test I used Rise of the Tomb Raider at the absolute highest settings at 1440p, I don't normally play at these settings but I wanted to stress the GPU hard, this game does it well. Temps on the stock cooler where around 80c, on the G12 + H55, it dropped to between 45 - 51c and its a lot quieter, this is also setting pump and fans to silent mode, not performance. World of Warcraft at setting 10 and 4k via DSR on a 1440p monitor hits around 41c under load in a city like dalaran, I don't raid so I haven't tested it there. Please do your research first, its well supported but it only uses certain AIOs which are listed on their website and certain GPU designed, but it does have an extremely big range of GPUs. Take your time also if you do decide to fit one, read the instructions carefully so you don't break anything, it took me an hour for a 10 min job. Enjoy!
  15. I used to run a 1060 6GB on a 1440p 144Hz monitor, the card never reached that in high end games. I have a GTX 1080Ti now and that struggles in some games to keep that FPS up. If you are looking at this invest in g-sync and let that do all the refresh rates for you, I love my g-sync panel.
  16. Sorry about the slow reply, I looked at a few of the suggestions, and settled on the Acer Swift 3 14 (with MX150) thankfully a local store had one in and viewable and it was cheaper than the devices I was looking at, just got to set it up now. Many thanks again!
  17. Hi there from the uk and £900 and not really, just light and portable, as stated usage is rather light. can 7th gen do 4K hdr via external display? I believe both Nvidia and intel have the decoding hardware
  18. Hi All So I am looking at getting a new laptop and the two above are the ones I like. So while the 15.6 has an 8th gen processor I am liking the 13.3 because of the size, although that is still running on a i5 7200u instead of a 8250u. I will be doing university work on this (documents, java programming, hooked up to external display) also netflix 4k (again external monitors) and older gaming like Fallout 3, 90s/2000s games. Is there any point in spending more on the 15.6 or just get the 13.3, I am thinking also the 13.3 will be good for when I travel due to the size. Thoughts? Many Thanks
  19. No I dont have the boxes and receipts are in my online accounts but it will be sold as used and sold as seen, the build is about 8 months old. Its going on ebay so generally I wouldn't be giving receipts, ill show them it working just before they leave as it will be pickup only. What reserve do you think I should put in?
