  1. This whole topic has opend my eyes to why my i7-8700K always has rus way hotter than expected. I have an CoolerMaster 240 AIO on it, but it also used to climb into the 70-80°C while idle (w/ 4,9GHz OC) and 95-100°C -ish while stresstesting w/ cinebench and other stress test apps. I've long settled with an all core OC of 4,7GHz, as it is still noticably faster than stock but not stressing the CPU temp-wise nearly as much, with average temps of 80-86°C with max hits of 88-89°C. And secondly bc my 3Dmark CPU scores were mostly unaffected by it. Still, I don't think I'll be delidding my CPU myself anytime close, both bc it's fine as it is RN to me, but also the risk of damaging the CPU and not wanting to spend money on it if I don't need to. Just hope my system holds on to function as long as I need it to. With the current prices of GPU's, high prices of the new ddr5 and motherboards and all, I really hope it will hold on for at least a couple more years before dying on me.
  2. Hello, I've been trying to search for an option to disable my 2th SIM in my phone for Data only. I've got a dual sim phone, OnePlus 6 to be exact. Runs Android 11. My 1st SIM slot has my personal SIM, with a Sim-only plan, and I only want my phone to use the 4G data from this SIM. My 2th SIM slot currently has a prepaid SIM in it, and I don't want it to be able to use any data. Mainly because prepaid data usage is crazy expensive. I still have to stay available for calls on the 2th SIM so I can't just disable the whole SIM. Is there any way to disable data usage for that SIM? I can provide some screenshots if needed.
  3. Thanks for the tip, PC is now running off the new drive. Just have to fix some of the old drive's partitions and stuff but it's working flawlessly
  4. Hey, My C: drive has been full or almost full for some time now, and I also wanted to upgrade to an M.2 drive. I've bought the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB to replace it as the boot drive. The drive is fine, it works, but I just can't find a good tutorial on how to clone the OS + other data from my old drive to my new one. I have contacted my local pc workshop, and they'll do it, but they'll charge me $58 for it, which seems way overpriced. I still am talking to them about a better / more fair price, but even if.... There has to be a way to do this myself, right? So I've come here to ask for help and guidance with this. Drives: Drive 1: Samsung 750 EVO 250GB - SATA SSD [Windows Boot drive / C:] Drive 2: Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB - SATA HDD [E: documents / P: programs and games] Drive 3: [New] Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB - M.2 NVMI SSD [X: (empty)] Drive 4: Seagate Expansion Desktop 6TB - USB HDD [Z: Backup / Archive drive] I know how to change boot prioity and stuff, I just need help cloning [Drive 1] (with the OS, programs and other data that is on that drive) to [Drive 3]. So if someone can help me with this would be greatly appriciated.
  5. This Friday i opened up my laptop, and have redone the thermal paste. Now all cores rarely hit above 80°C. A 20°C difference! Thanks bro! Now my laptop is contributing to the Folding@Home COVID-19 simulations 24/7, without me worrying about the temps!
  6. So a possible solution whould be to redo the Thermal Paste?
  7. Hey, My laptops has the I7-4800MQ Under full load: (after 10 minutes) core 1 = 75-81°C core 2 = 76-85°C core 3 = 82-92°C core 4 = 91-101°C I just hit it with an all core load, but for some reason the 4th core always skyrockets the temps. (Same when gaming) Any suggestions/solutions?
  8. Hey, I'm finally upgrading my pc monitor. I've been searching for all kinds of things, but really don't know what to look for except for the size, resolution, refresh rate and response time. If someone could give some details to me what to look for and what to avoid (like LCD TN/VA/IPS, a surtain brand, G-Sync, backlight stuff, etc.) I'd be very glad. Also suggestion for monitors are welcome My GPU is the NVIDIA GTX1660Ti. Should be able to do 1080p144Hz or 1440p60Hz no problem. 1440p144Hz is possible but won't always get best performance (according to the internet peeps). I'm looking for a 23,5"-27" monitor. - Resolution 1080p (Full HD) or 1440p (Quad HD). - Refreshrate of 120-144Hz. - whould like to keep the price around 200 $/€ and not more than 320 $/€. - a not very big border. - a wide screen is not out of the question. - response time of 1-5ms And if it doesn't add too much to the price; - adjustable stand. (May end up using a monitor mount) Have no interest in: - bigger than 27" (except for wide screens) or smaller than 23,5" - 4k, as my GPU won't handle it and as 1440p is the highest I'd like to use anyway. - higher than 144Hz Thanks in advance.
