The head of one of the AMD departments, can't remember his name, eluded to the fact that they won't have the same issues with stock that Nvidia did in a tweet a few weeks ago. Let me see if I can locate it

Possibly, but the main issues with most component launches right now is with production and manufacturing as with the pandemic a lot of plants are shut down. As far as everyone in the loop knows the stock issues of everything from graphics cards and components to even the new consoles can be attributed to that. I work for a computer sales and service company that has been told that from several manufacturers over the last few months. I highly doubt this is all just a sham to hold off until AMD launches, especially with all the negative press and heat it's bringing down on them from consumers.

I'm a self confessed Asus fanboy. I've never had a single product from them that has disappointed me

And not only that I could see a whole revamp of NVIDIA's website to have a queue based ordering system like EVGA has in place now just before the announcement.  These companies are playing chicken with each other and we are caught in the middle

I was talking to my coworker about this and I said the same exact thing... I really hope so because I'm in need for the GPU upgrade hah

I ran a ryzen 1700x until the 3600 came out. I game at 1440p and the cpu isn't that big of an issue at that resolution so no I didn't give Zen 1 shit about being slower. I really didn't need to get the 3600 to tell you the truth, I only bought it to help out a friend that I gave the 1700x to since he was on a tight budget.

I'm happy you never had issues with your 5700xt but there are tons of people who have had issues. Whine to you about it? Get off your Amd high horse. People like you raved about the 5700 xt so I got one and I had more issues with it then I had over a decade with all the nvidia cards I used put together. I paid $437 for the card and sold it for $300.
I'm glad you had a better experience then I did. When the card worked performance was amazing, unfortunately I had a lot of issues and got tired of dealing with it.

Going to also say was helping a friend with her build, and when she told me she got a 5700xt after she had an Nvidia 1070 I was like noooooooo. Mostly because of my own experiences with AMD cards, had 2 and they were arguably the worst GPU's I have ever owned. Guess what? She had an issue with drivers/defective card 3 days in and I told her I was not surprised in the slightest. Another friend also got one he likes to stream a lot and I told him he was making a HUGE mistake because of AMD's encoder being broken and not on par with NVENC. What did he do? He sold that 5700xt and got a 2070 super. Have they gotten better? Sure have but I wouldn't even take a chance with them again. CPU's thats another story because Ryzen has actually been pretty awesome to see and work with but anyway, I have had 0 problems with any Nvidia card I have worked with since building PC's for the last 10 years. To each their own.

Don't get me started on how disgusting some people are. I worked in a PC repair shop years ago and the first thing I did when I got started on a laptop was clean off all the goo on it. Cheetos dust is the worst, among other things.

So it could go either well or fail really miserably. I personally do not recommend doing that, and just doing a clean reimage when you are putting it into a new build just in case. You shouldn't have a licensing issue with it being on the drive/ if you used the media tool. IIRC

Yeah the 2x8GB is currently what I am using in my main build. I have had no issues as I said. Let us know how it works out for you! RAM is relatively cheap right now.

Well, i know that dual-channel is so good, but my experience with Team T-Force Delta RGB RAM 16GB(2x8GB) made be so disappointed about using dual-channel so + the faulty RAM also, however, there's also 8GB models for Corsair Vengeance LPX available here and almost same price, but not a kit in the same box like Team T-Force Delta RGB that should do a better performance, but anyways i will consider them too, will at first check the warranty of my Team T-Force RAM, if bad response received, then i will consider buying 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance LPX (1x8GB) and use them in dual-channel mode.

    Thanks for your perspective also.

Yeah he stated that he cant run 3200 MHz, but I had missed where he was going to use single 16 sticks. Yes please use dual channel, if you have it so that would be 2 8gb sticks. Glad to see someone else rocking those LPX Vengeance RAM sticks! I have had mine over a year clocked at the speed listed and I have not had an issue.

As an owner of some of that LPX Vengeance RAM by Corsair, I can tell you have had not had a single issue with that specific set of RAM. I have always been hesitant on T-Force RAM and stuck to something I knew. I would say you really can't go wrong with Corsair or HyperX in this case.  Mine runs perfectly at 3000 MHz

My old Corsair PSU died twice, once after they changed it for another. It was a couple years ago, so it might be different, but i dont have the best experience with that companies PSUs.

Here, this video has all the information you need, the stock cooler on the 3900X is by all means appropriated and you'll get diminishing returns by spending a lot more on aftermarket solutions:

That is correct, my fault on that. Yeah I wouldn't use a Hyper 212 EVO for OCing. I also agree with that they are pretty bothersome to install and some consider them to be "ugly". If you care about aesthetics in your case then that might be an issue but like you said on a budget might be the best route to just go with an EVO for now and if you want to do anything else later down the road you have time to save up for that.
