OK,
So I have watched all the recent buying guides about monitors have been doing research. I have made one purchase already and had to switch back. So I need some help to figure out what should my next primary monitor should be. So let me start with some info:
Current System:
CPU: AMD Threadripper 1950x
GPU EVGA GTX 1080 TI XC2 Hybrid (Soon to be EVGA RTX 2080 TI XC Hybrid)
MEM: 32GB DDR4
STORAGE: Samsung M.2 1 TB, Toshiba 3x3TB SATA HDWD130
But more to the point my displays are:
Primary: Acer Predator X281HK 28" 4k 60HZ
Secondary: Acer B286HK 28" 4k 60HZ
So I had initially purchased a BenQ ZOWIE XL2740 27" 240Hz 1080p to replace my primary monitor. I thought I could live with the resolution downgrade in favor of the higher FPS. I was wrong! After 24 hours I had to switch back. I don't only use the machine for gaming but also photo/video editing, software development and CAD for my 3d printing. Don't get me wrong the BenQ is a great monitor and I letting one of my older kids keep for the their PC. My biggest problem was the pixel density. All the text was fuzzy and I lost of real estate for productivity. I finally understood the term "screen door effect". What I am looking for a suggestion for a 4K 144hz monitor. I would really like to stay around the ~27" form factor. Not really interested in ultra-wides. I especially would like to hear from people who have either hands on experience or own these type of monitors.
Thanks in advance!!
