  1. can i ask where are u located?
  2. Make sure the pins aren't bent. and make sure you let it memory train.
  3. I would RMA it or call Lenovo. Also make sure your dad's laptop supports thunderbolt.
  4. the X470 motherboards NEED to have the bios updated before using 3rd gen Ryzen. I would recommend putting back your 2600, getting a flashdrive and loading the bios onto it. You can find a guide here from Bitwit. You can find the newer bios on ASUS's website.
  5. I would restart the system, and maybe switch out the HDMI cable for a displayport cable. Restarting the thinkpad and unplugging the dock from power might help. Think of the basic things. Thats what they teach it professionals to look at before anything big.
  6. If you have the right cable, probably not. Since you got that new tv, I'd recommend getting a VR headset to. It's only the perfect fit. (If budget allows)
  7. Also, you can go team red with a Radeon VII
  8. Most carriers do payment plans now a days. I'd honestly wait for the Pixel 4a, it may be around 400 dollars but it may serve you. I also read somewhere you can get a iPhone 7 or for a 100 dollars. It may be from ages ago but it still is a good phone in 2020. My dad still has his and LOVES it.
  9. I would honestly upgrade the CPU and GPU, but that would cause you to get a whole new Motherboard and RAM. Right now I would go with the CPU, if you are willing to put down an extra 50-100 dollars. The Ryzen 5 3600 is a sweet spot and you can get a decent b450 motherboard for 90-110 dollars. Ryzen does love fast ram however, so I would get a 3200 kit at the minimum. I may sound like Linus saying this, but got to Micro Center (if you are in the US). They have alot of sweet deals and if you keep an eye out you can even get a decent bundle deal for both the cpu and mobo.
  10. My brother uses a chromebook for school, however, I can see that this may not fit your needs. However the Flex 14 2-in-1 from lenovo seems like a great fit. It has a 3rd gen ryzen quadcore, 12 gigs of ram, and a pen! While that may not be the best thing out right now. It can fit your child's needs and may even be able to run minecraft and roblox. I'll put a link for you here: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Convertible-Touchscreen-Processor-81SS000DUS/dp/B07TWHYTSQ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=lenovo+flex&qid=1586025303&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzMklPSEtCUjhKMTVUJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODk1MTM4MVQ3RzU2RDYyVTJLOSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDI2MjI0Mk5NVkE5S0JPSk1FJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  11. I'm a senior in high school and I'm getting geared up for college in the fall. I'm looking at different Bluetooth headphones and truly wireless earbuds as I travel constantly. I want something with ANC. I was looking at the Airpods Pro, or the Bose Quietconfort 35. Any recommendations?
