  1. I wouldn't get the 6500xt. You can build the PC if you want, then check daily for better deals on graphics cards. It's hard to find the most popular cards, but by checking enough retailers you might be able to find a better card for close to MSRP eventually.
  2. Have you used any hardware monitors to check which components have high usage? You can also check if everything is running at the clock speeds on the box to figure out what's wrong. Check stuff like temps as well, if you have a different case/coolers than your brother you can end up with very different results.
  3. It looks like you're doing fine picking PC parts, so I'll just mention that picking up a good wheel/pedals can make your hardware a lot more worth it for sim racing.
  4. Try enabling/disabling CSM (Compatibility support module) in BIOS. That might help.
  5. According to the manual, your motherboard uses a standard 20-5 pin PANEL layout for it's front panel connectors. Please send a picture of what you're doing. Also, if you're bridging pins from the 24-pin power connector, there's a plastic shield there for a reason. Don't do that.
  6. Yes, DP should be able to support dual 1080p@144hz monitors.
  7. When is this happening? Is it after or before the computer turns off?
  8. This may be a stupid question, but how sure are you that you're bridging the right pins?
  9. Perhaps buying replacement DRL's wouldn't be the worst use of your money either.
  10. Because you're only looking to drive 1080p at 144hz, you can use the extra DP 1.4 bandwidth. You can buy a splitter for DP, or apparently you can daisy chain multiple monitors together.
  11. It sounds like you can just use your camera as a webcam through OBS (a lot of cameras have software that makes this possible). That way you can just stop recording and delete the file, then record the next clip. Some cameras also have a software where you can control the camera from your computer, so you might not even need OBS.
  12. I'm not exactly an expert on sanders, but it should be fine as long as you use sand paper that's meant for the job (I have no idea if 3000 grit sandpaper can polish steel to a mirror). As for polishing headlight housings, orbital sanders are not great at anything that isn't flat.
  13. Use the manuals. Seriously. The ones you need are for will be for the case, motherboard, power supply, and any additional cooling/airflow hardware you have. Here are the things you'll need to look for in the manuals: - Power connectors for the motherboard and GPU - Front I/O (This includes USB, front panel audio, and case buttons) - Fans/CPU fan headers - Fan/case RGB headers - Storage (you'll need to connect most storage to the motherboard as well as the power supply) If you're having trouble with the RGB headers and power button headers, you definitely should look at the motherboard manual. Everything is labeled nicely there. Also, there are aRGB and RGB headers. A lot of modern motherboards have both, now, but make sure to plug your fans into the one with the right number of pins.
  14. First things first: Never power your PC on when a cooler is not properly mounted. With only three screws, the cooler will not have enough mounting pressure on that side, and it might not make contact with the heat spreader at all. It can be pretty hard to get those screws in under normal circumstances. If you can't fix it, though, definitely don't force it on the motherboard. Any $20-$30 cooler will be enough for your CPU, and it's a lot cheaper than potentially damaging your motherboard.
  15. The Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 is compatible with the LGA 1200 socket, but has trouble with a lot of smaller form factor boards. If you click on the warning icon from THIS PAGE, you will see that the issue is due to RAM clearance. Low profile RAM may work, but it is not a guarantee. You may be better off finding a cooler which is designed with ITX boards in mind.
