  1. @Jurrunio Thanks for the comment. I was waiting for Gen 3 for a hopeful June release, but the recent Q3 announcement is playing my hand so I'm buying early unfortunately. How would I look for if a board is good for overclocking? WiFi is important for me but could get a different MB and grab an adapter. My bad in inputting it, I was planning on 2 sticks. Thanks!
  2. PC Part Picket Link First time building a PC. I'd love it if you could look over my parts and see if I'm overlooking anything. Purpose: I'm going to start my Masters in Engineering next year and I wanted to beef up my computer. While gaming is appreciated, I'm looking for something powerful first and gaming second, which is why my GPU is likely to be my bottleneck. Looking to spend somewhere in the realm of $1000. CPU: Was originally waiting for Gen3, but when I saw it would be released Q3, I caved and am buying now. I plan to overclock the Ryzen 5 2600. I also wanted a water cooler mostly for the flex so that might be slightly mismatched. ¯\(ツ)/¯ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($154.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($69.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Gigabyte - B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX AM4 Motherboard ($101.99 w/ Newegg Combo) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LED 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($63.99 w/ Google Express) Storage: ADATA - XPG SX8200 Pro 512 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($76.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Sapphire - Radeon RX 580 8 GB PULSE Video Card ($179.99 @ Newegg) Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P350X ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair - TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($53.98 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (Purchased For $0.00) Keyboard: Logitech - K840 Wired Standard Keyboard ($59.99 @ Amazon) Mouse: Logitech - MX Master Bluetooth Wireless Laser Mouse (Purchased For $59.99) Custom: USB Headphone Stand New Bee Sturdy 2-in-1 Wireless Charger + Headset Stand for Samsung S7/S7 Edge/S6/S6 Edge and other Mobile Phone with Standard Qi-enabled devices - Black (Purchased For $14.99) Custom: VicTsing Mouse Pad with Gel Wrist Rest, Non-Slip PU Base Wrist Rest Pad for Gaming Typist Office, Black ($8.45 @ Amazon) Custom: DEEPCOOL RF120M 5x120mm RGB LED PWM Fans with Fan Hubs, Compatible with ASUS Aura Sync, No Wired Controller ($34.99 @ Amazon) Custom: TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones [2019 Upgrade] Bluetooth Headphones Over Ear Headphones Hi-Fi Sound Deep Bass, Quick Charge, 30 Hours Playtime for Travel Work TV PC Cellphone (Purchased For $49.99) Total: $1060.30 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
  3. Few clarification questions, thanks to everyone for responding. @Sorenson My search doesn't seem to show that it's QLC, it seems to be TLC according to hothardware. Would that be stable enough or would you still recommend something else? @trevb0t How do you know it's faster? I've been using UserBenchmark for seeing how fast part are and it says the XPG is ~34% faster.

I have heard very great things about the Sapphire Nitro RX 580 but I'm not sure if the RX 590 deal from today is a better one.
