  1. Hello guys, I recently noticed something strange. I had one M2 ssd in my laptop since i got it, and only last year bought another M2 ssd (Had an extra free slot), however, it seems like the second disk never sleeps or something? I almost never turn my laptop completely off - most of the times it only sleeps, and I think the secondary M2 ssd never gets to sleep state and turns off. I am concerned as this could use not only the disk and lower longevity but I guess it also uses laptops battery. My "main" ssd which I have since I have the laptop (3 years) has Power on Hours 3334 and the secondary has almost triple that (8181 hours!) It was completely new drive and I do remember seeing 0 hours when I purchased it. How could I make the secondary ssd "go to sleep"? Thanks for answers
  2. Ubiquity solutions provide only one or two glan ports, while I could utilise all 4 from the Asus or tp link router. And what is your idea about going with router and extender or just main router? Or bring cable to my room where I connect it to router and make it access point there, and just connect TV, computer, ps4 with cable as well?
  3. They can also be set to access point modes. Good point for ubiquity.
  4. Hi guys, my ISP provider will increase my internet speed from 300mbps to 600mbps. I currently have router provided by ISP, gigabit lan ports and 600mbps 5ghz wifi, which i probably willl need to keep becouse it accepts optic fibre. Iam thinking about upgrading the wifi becouse of the range which is not excelent. In my room I get around 60mbps now, and I would like to utilize as much speed as I can. Iam thinking about buying either ASUS RT-AC66U B1 or TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 and replace the current wifi with the new router. I can get the TP LINK + extender to make mesh network for the same price I can get the ASUS. I also thought about just connecting cable to the router by ISP and get the cable to my room where I connect it to the router. Will this be neccesary ? I would connect TV, PS4 and maybe laptop by cable in this case as well. Thanks for help
  5. Yes its laptop, why does that matter ? About the second one Iam not sure, I will go try and let you know
  6. Hello, I have fresh dualboot windows 10 and manjaro installed on my system, both on separate drivers, with their own efi partitions. However... My manjaro is not able to shutdown or restart the computer. Everything else is working fine, boots up fine both manjaro and windows, windows can shutdown or restart computer normally. Whenever I try shutdown or restart manjaro, I just get black screen and only thing I can do is hard restart with button. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this ? I tried other kernel and updating everything on manjaro, but it didnt seem to help... EDIT: Solved by reinstalling kernel and installing nvidia drivers and bumblebee
  7. I won't be using Linux that often, i am worried that I will always have to press enter or something in the boot manager, to login to windows which I will be using probably 80-90% of the time. My laptop now boots under 10 seconds from turned off to ready to work, this is something I want to have in the furute as well.
  8. I will have windows 10 installed on one drive and then I install Linux (probably Manjaro) to my second drive. Should I create the ext4 partition first, or create ntfs partition in windows and just use remaining space when installing the linux. One user recomended me installing windows while the linux drive is removed from computer, and then installing linux while the windows drive is removed, then just plug them both back. Becouse I dont want to deal with either windows boot manager or linux boot manager as I think its pretty slow, just want to have windows drive as default and in case I need, I change order in bios and it would boot into Linux. I currently have windows installed on UEFI, would that be a problem ?
  9. How will the drive show up in windows after I install Linux ? Will it show full drive, or will it show only the remaining space ? Will there be some mounting problems in ubuntu mounting the remaining space after its used in windows ? I would not even need to mount the remaining space in Linux
  10. Hello, I want to make dualboot with windows 10 and Linux, both system on separate m2 ssds. My question is following. I only want to use 50gb from the 500gb ssd for linux, and I would like to have remaining 450 as a data drive for windows. Is something like this possible ? I guess partition the second drive but iam not sure.. anyone can help / assist ?
