  2. I ok I get it now thanks for clearing it up for me.
  3. Today in science class we learned silver is one of the best electrical conductors, if so why do we use gold when it cost more? Are there other benefits to using gold over silver?
  4. I don't think he'll go for the "ThreadRipper" variant, he could have gone with the 2nd generation ThreadRipper but he like playing with mainstream parts so he waited for Ryzen 3000. And I think the super computer at MIT smokes the threadripper or any of Intel's variants. He just likes playing with his toys.
  5. I know but $580 for an Asus DTX board where a gen 4 nvme ssd isn't available yet I don't think is worth it for gamers like me but my brother's case that be different since he works for MIT's science department.
  6. I agree but even if you have the potential it still will cost other gamers an arm and a foot after looking at board prices we have over here.
  7. We were discussing on how our build would cost since the price list at our usual hant was confirmed. As my brother plans to go with the Asus DTX mother board and the 12core cpu we have to reserve order the motherboard before the launch date. I was going to get the gigabyte itx board but my brother explained that unless you're going for a 12/16 core cpu the X570 boards isn't a need even with the 6/8 core's 105 tdp. He said that even my Msi b450i can handle the R7 3700X fine so I didn't have to spend the extra cash. He explained that most gamers will not be using the pcie gen 4 to full potential. - none of the present day GPUs are able use the full lanes provided - 4th gen nvme/pcie ssd will be at a higher premium price - most gamers / end-users will not be buying 4th gen nvme ssd - not everyone is going to be pushing the overclock due to the heat issues from the vrms, my brother forsees - overclocking heating issues, not all present day aio can handle the heat. - (for the same reason why they made 90% boards ATX) If you plan to overclock your 12/16 core you'll probably will need a 280mm AIO or more. My brother made me think twice, so I was thinking to post this as an advice or as a early point for everyone. Have fun everyone.
  8. She plays E-sports games and I wanted to keep her within her budget.
  9. She has her old ssd for boot drive, but i was thinking a 500gb ssd for her E-sports games.
  10. LoL, if you can get your hands on a cheap Vega 56 go for that or wait for nvidia's new super rtx 2060 or rx 5700 from AMD.

  12. From what I heard it's 105w tdp but Steve expext it to hit no less then 250w if overclocked
  13. My brother plans to buy the 16 core Ryzen and the Asus X570 DTX motherboard. My question is will it be ok only being cooled by an 240mm aio liquid cooler, since my brother plans to use a H400 for its case. Or should he go for the Noctua twin towered air cooler.
  14. My classmate Carol's haswell i5 4460 system died yesterday morning just before coming to school and she knows me and my brother are good at putting budget systems together, she requested that I and my brother help her put a system together for her with a budget of $900. After looking thru the parts of her system the only salvageable thing was her 120gb ssd and her 1tb hdd, the psu had fried her motherboard. She wants a system for book reports, homework, research, and some light 1080p gaming (mostly E-sports games) I was thinking going Ryzen but I can't decide between getting her a r5 2600 now or pre-order a r5 3600 and wait 3 weeks then build the system for her. What do you guys think which route should I go? System build CoolerMaster NR400 Msi b450m Bazooka plus v.2 Cpu??? 19. My classmate is planning to get the 3600 to upgrade her 2400G with her b450 board, my brother says it may be a bad idea since a lot of the YouTube videos says it may be unsuitable. Should she buy a X570 or can she use her Bazooka plus board?
