Well WoeUSB worked, and everything is set up now, so this topic can be closed.

Boinbo got a reaction from GuyNamedBrad in USB isn't being detected
Currently I am on Linux and Rufus doesn't work on Solus for me, even with Wine. I'll try Yumi. How would I change the format of the driive?
Edit: I tried turning off secure boot and turned on legacy support. Now it's detected, but when I boot into it, it just shows some text, then the lenovo logo, and then boots into Linux again.
Edit 2: I am reflashing it onto the same drive using WoeUSB. I will boot up again and report back with results.

Boinbo got a reaction from Charles viering in Need some feed back pls
To me, everything looks good Can't comment on the case though. Only reccomendation would be if you could try and fit in an Nvme drive in, because it would be faster than the crucial you are using right now.

Boinbo reacted to Fasauceome in CPU and motherboard upgrade
Ryzen 7 3700X for now is a great upgrade. Note that for the BIOS updates on older boards you usually have to do a sequence of two updates or so in order for the newest to work. We'll have to wait some months for 4000 series to hit the shelves so if you want more performance, best not to hold your breath.

Boinbo reacted to Fasauceome in 1080p or 1440p
nothing is future proof. The 2080 super is one of the best graphics cards out now, so if you want to game at 1440 144Hz, you should get a monitor for that.

Boinbo reacted to Sauron in Windows on Solus OS Budgie
Then honestly just wipe it, make two partitions, dual boot.
Or install only Windows if you don't need Linux.

Boinbo got a reaction from Ben17 in Solar powered keyboard?
I don't want it, I'm just wondering why I've never heard of it before, as it sounds very innovative.

Using my surface pro 7 with a 1035g4 and 8gb ram, I got 768 on cinebench r20. Is that good? What's the average score for that?

I'm gonna suggest posting this as a different topic, it'll likely Garner more views than posting on a dead-ish thread.

Boinbo reacted to BeastBoy797 in Diy Laptop Keyboard Backlight
We'll you can do that. But you would have to open up your laptop to replace the current keyboard with a new one having backlight. Here is a link if you are ready to do so.

for 700 ish I would take a look at some powered monitors and an interface/balanced DAC with volume control, I'm getting a pair of the JBL LSR308 Mk 2's in a couple weeks for my PC, so could post my listening impressions.
Also, take a look at the Kali Audio P6's, they are supposed to be amazing, they also have RCA in so you could get a cheap-ish DAC with volume control.
Another option is going with something from Edifier, such as the S3000 Pro's, these are supposed to essentially be endgame for most people. https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-S3000Pro-Audiophile-Active-Speakers/dp/B07L6RXHQ6/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Edifier+s3000&qid=1573321782&sr=8-2
