  1. Hi, thanks for responding. Yes the price is in USD. To be honest, the company has a lot of work to do with its IT infra since they don't have a "true" IT department until I was hired. We already have basic networking and the first thing I want to improve is the server. I am balancing between cost and storage since SSD will be expensive but I will still consider. Can you recommend a good server to start with? Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone. I just wanted to know if this server is good. You see, we are a medium sized company and we are planning to develop systems that will run and store databases on a primary server. The thing is we don't have one and the company is using a desktop computer as the server. So, to improve the IT infra of the company I have proposed a server upgrade. We are based on the Philippines and I don't know any good computer stores that is also dedicated on selling servers so my fastest bet is to browse alibaba. The specs of the server is stated below: HPE Proliant DL380p Gen8 CPU: 2 x E5-2690 V2 RAM 24 x 8GB STORAGE: 12 x 600GB 10K SAS 2.5inch RAID CTRL: P420i/2G PSU: 2 x 500W Total Price: $3588 + $200 shipping Note that I am planning to run multiple VMs and a File Server about on this server using the ESXi Hypervisor. Is this too overkill/"underkill" or can I find a better alternative? Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, I've been querying Google for this a lot now, however, I can't find a satisfying solution without having to spend lots of money for a monitor calibration tool. My problem is the colors just don't match, the other is different by showing some kind of "additive" color to the other. The main monitor usually carries the purer black and whites and the latter has some sort of light "caramelized" or "coffeish" color from the main one. I tried switching the two and it's always the second one that gets the bad color accuracy. My dual Asus VZ239H monitor setup is hooked up to my Zotac GTX 1060 Amp! Edition GPU having one of the monitors converted from DisplayPort to HDMI since the monitor only HDMI capable and the GPU only has one slot for HDMI, the remaining three are DisplayPort slots. I have tried setting both in sRGB mode but no luck, still different and I have also explored the Windows color setting on this, not really sure what to do and just played with some settings, and applied templates. I am in the office right now, so I might be able to give some pictures later when I get home.
  4. It does seem to be that way for me. It only happens when I was copying a big chunk of files with >2GB file sizes. Multiple small clustered files seem okay though. I'm thinking of buying an SSD for this though, but don't have the money yet to buy a 512GB or 1TB SSD so I am looking for temporary remedies.
  5. Hi, I have been using my 32GB Intel Optane Module for a while now. I have been able to accelerate the boot process and some of my apps, but every time I copy a large file my system tends to halt and is very unresponsive. Games also freeze from time to time. This has not happened before without the Optane Module. So I suspect the module is doing this. My system: HDD: 4TB Seagate Barracuda HDD (System) <- Optane accelerated, 2 partitions CPU: Intel i5 8400 RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX 2666 MOBO: MSI B360M Mortar Titanium (firmware 7B23vA4) Any kind of feedback helps. Thanks!
