  1. I meant a mobile one sorry if it was a little unclear , but I thought that modem means mobile router anyways , preferably 4G/LTE
  2. Yea preferably , since I wanted to take it with me
  3. Hi I’m sorry if this doesn’t fit the networking category per se , but I’d like to ask what the best USB modem in regards to latency/speed? Also are there any usb c types of it? I wanted one to connect my Mac to my PC via VNC/remote access and was curious if the latency wouldn’t kill it?
  4. Hi I just bought myself a new MacBook Air 2018 and I was curious since it has a dual core albeit low TDP that can reach up to 3.6Ghz and since I have an rx580 that technically is supported by macOS could I try and use an egpu with it ? Would such a setup experience heavy bottlenecking by the cpu assuming I have the ram and storage for modern games?
  5. Thanks for the answers I rarely game if I ever and I still have a pretty decent desktop for that I just wanted something that can run macOS natively and I could take with me in the go and this is my dilemma sort of since there were 3 macs in my price range personally I like the air the most as it has physical switches and touchID and my only concern was the cpu still thanks for the answers
  6. Hi after building my Hackintosh I’ve decided to get a real Mac as I was incredibly satisfied with macOS and wanted a laptop . I’ve ordered the 2018 MacBook Air as whilst it’s not the best value it certainly appeals to me in terms of build quality screen and all that though I’m quite honestly concerned about whether the dual core i5 can cripple my performance . I don’t intend to edit videos on it nor game as I have a desktop for anything of that calibre I simply intend to use it for general productivity Spotify watching YouTube and all of that . Hence I’d like to ask whether the 7watt i5 is a dela breaker ? I intend to keep my laptop for 2-3 perhaps 4 years
  7. Thanks for the guide , I did consider doing it but I’m not sure if Nvidia has proper drivers for Mojave and as far as I know running high Sierra would involve a parched kernel / some workarounds and whilst sure it’s doable I’m just not sure if I’d like to completely wipe my drive and install macOS as I believe macs use a different type of partition map.Still I’ll have a look and thanks for the quick response
  8. Hi guys it’s my first post here so please excuse my ignorance.I was strongly thinking about getting a laptop for school as I’m going to move away in a few months and likely won’t be able to take my beloved desktop with me , I am leaning towards apple, but I’d rather not buy into the Mac ecosystem without trying the OS out for a few days , I have a ryzen 2nd gen system with an nvidia gpu so I doubt whether I’ll be able to run it on baremetal , I was thinking of running it in VMware/virtual box as they usually were very handy for other virtualization projects but I’m not sure if since I have only 1 gpu I’ll be able to use a hardware renderer in my vm and that’s why I would like to ask if macOS Mojave’s would be usable with a software renderer as I simply wanted a test drive of the OS for a couple of days to see if apple is the way to go for me.
