  1. Just checked. No bent pins... This is strange. I have been a tech coordinator here for 8 years and have seen/worked on 1000's of laptops. I have never encountered this issue before. Like I said the computer works find when an external screen is plugged in and I would hate to trash a working computer. Maybe it is just a desktop now that will need to live connected to an external screen. lol.
  2. I have a fleet of a dozen or so Lenovo T540p laptops. One has an issue with it's screen being incredibly dim from power up/splash screen/boot screen, on. So dim I cannot see the screen unless the lights are out or I get real close.I have replaced the screen entirely and the cable connecting the screen to the moboThe FN brightness buttons do nothing.I have pulled the battery and CMOS battery to try and reset the bios completely.I can plug in an external screen with VGA and it works fine. I have gone in and reset all BIOS settings to factory.I also have another of the same model I can pull parts from (hence were I got the spare screen and cable from). This has nothing to do with Windows settings.Any thoughts? Is the mobo just toast? When I plug in an external screen via VGA it works great so I'd hate to trash a working computer. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the quick response! I plan to put my 960 back in and do some tests but why would I get LESS FPS with my 580?! Shouldn't it get at least the same FPS as my 960?
  4. Hey guys. First time poster here. I just build a new PC (see specs below) and used my old GTX 960 4GB from my old computer as I had upgraded it a few years back. After seeing what an improvement I got from the new computer I realized how bottle necked my GPU was. So I wanted to upgrade my GPU to a RX 580 8GB. I bought one off eBay that didn't seem to have been mined or abused. It was in great looking condition, came with all the packaging and seller said he was upgrading his GPU. Seller had 100% feedback rating. After installing the RX 580 I am getting ~50 FPS less in the CSGO benchmark! With my GTX 960 at low settings I was getting ~270 FPS. With the RX 580 I am getting ~220! While I know the GTX 960 was fine for CSGO I figured I would upgrade for other games I would see the increased performance like Apex Legends and also CSGO would get a little boost as well. I never thought I would get LESS FPS with the RX 580 in CSGO... Is there any reason for this? I have used DDU driver uninstaller. The Clock speed is showing 1380 MHz. I am running the latest AMD RX 500 series driver (19.4.3 at the time of post). Windows is up to date. like what...? I have tried uninstalling all drivers in safe mode and reinstalling them. It's all the same hardware and settings.
