tito reacted to That Norwegian Guy in Linus takes the final step in abandoning his original audience.
I know this will draw hate as is common on criticism, keep in mind this is my opinion and I'm sure Linus will do fine when shifting his content on to a different demographic altogether. Afterall, smartphones and general consumer gadgets are popular watching and I'm sure many of Linus' new audience is here and ready to defend him. But this is constructive criticism, so I would appreciate the same gesture in return.

Having been watching LTT for a long time, it has gone increasingly downhill over a long period of time for me:

Linus prioritizing boutique video quality sacrificing all quantity and depth of insight. We're down to less than a video a day, and the ones we get are usually shorter and less opinionated/ insightful. Forgetting who the audience is with an increasing number of consumer gadgets, (seriously, a wi-fi plant humidifier??) mobile phones, and other borderline tech of fringe interest to PC enthusiasts, even further lowering the quantity of content desired. Getting on the same release bandwagon as all. the. other. tech. channels. Every video with a product I want to watch either doesn't exist at all or is covered by OC3D, Linus, TekSyndicate, TastyPC, SWEclockers and HardwareCanucks ALL AT ONCE. Random WAN show guests that I very often find to be irrelevant and annoying. Getting that weird uncomfortable YouTube "buddy club" vibe that just kind of smells bad to me. Josh from Fractal being an exception. Why go to PAX? There are hundreds of YouTube channels doing PAX. Just why? Where are all the hidden gems in PC hardware? Have Linus completely abandoned reaching out to manufacturers for samples of interesting new coolers, cases, NAS boxes, you name it? It just seems Linus is more interested in autonomy, getting all the same stuff as everyone else, and losing touch with the market. It used to be about consumer enlightenment, showcasing stuff you might not have heard of. Remember the Thermaltake Tt eSports BAG? That kind of thing. I bought one because of Linus. What has Linus shown me in the past 6 months that I wanted to buy afterwards? Absolutely nothing, I'm afraid.
But the final step that is probably going to make me unsubscribe, is not going to Computex. Seriously, that is gutting. That is a stone-cold knife in the back to the original audience of the channel, to whom Computex is probably the highlight of the entire year, after the huge thrill of covering it last year. I could forgive anything from Linus but not that.

It makes me sad, as Linus Tech Tips has been my very favourite channel for years, but now it is my least favourite of all my subscriptions.

    My 2 rubel, anyway.

So this wasnt expected, im surprised by the specs, the architecture is crazy, they barely use any power.

But they are here, brace yourselves.

Well then what the **** are we waiting for better dive in.

    First up the gt 705

This sexy thing is a rebadge of the gt 610 which was a rebadge of gt 520. spicy.

Let me throw some numbers at you
48 CUDA CORES 64 BIT MEMORY BUS a jesus tier of only 29watts under full load An awesome process size of 40nm If i was you id wait for the classified or lightning versions of this card, you could maybe push it up by 1000mhz.

    Next up the...

    GT 710

This lady killer isnt a rebadge of the of Gt 620, whats this madness, its a rebadge of the gt 630, actually no its not, this is a cut down gt 630, madness is it, whatever.

Lets get down to the stats
Uses the genetically superior pci-e gen 2.0 lane. supports DX 11 has 512mb of memory, wait a sec thats less then the 705, i guess the AMD marketers went to nvidia for a day. Thats all i can say about that card, I recommed you wait for a sapphire version, even though this is nvidia im sure a 8gb vram version will be arriving soon after launch.

    LASTLY

    the new god('s servant),

    the new flagship(mascot),

Here it is the GT 720

This you might notice is the same as the above card but its superior.

Its not a half rebrand, ITS A FULL REBRAND.

This card has a full 1gb of vram. If you convert that to bytes its 1.0737 X 10^9 which is a big number, if you tried to count to that number it would take... A LONG TIME.

Unlike the ferocity of the above cards, this one is on a whole new level, those cards have a straightly 1 smx unit whereas this dragonslayer has 2 smx units. THATS 200% THE PERFORMANCE, i think.

It also has the DNA of the gtx titan, the 680, 770, titan black, titan brown, every voodoo card and that crazy tall guy from fractal.

Well then its been great but thats everything ive got today lads, follow EVGA's step up plans because im sure you titan wielders will be gunning for one of these beauties soon.

tito reacted to helping in AMD FX 8320 vs. 8350
We have this thread daily, do some searching

we also get the same response daily, so apologies.

The 8350 is a higher binned version of the same chip. The 8320 will on average not achieve the same overclocks as an 8350 and will require more voltage at any given equivalent clock.

8320 has 125w TDP @3.6Ghz, where the 8350 has the same TDP at 4.0. An 8320 at 4.5Ghz or 4.0 will be more stressful than an 8350 at 4.5 or 4.0Ghz.
An 8350 is much more likely to break passed the 4.5Ghz range.

If all you're doing is gaming and on a budget, an 8320 is still a sound investment as it's one of the best performance per dollar chips. If you have a bit of extra cash an 8350 is a good step up, especially if you want to push it.
IMO the 30$ is worth it, but if that's going to cut away from other parts of the build (i.e. better mobo or GPU) then 8320.

SO, the reasoning behind the new case was that my motherboard died (ASrock Z77 Extreme 3). When I ordered my motherboard I decided its also time for a new case since i hated my CM Storm Scout 2. Sadly there was an issue where the black R4 didn't ship from NCIX for 2 weeks because they where -15 on stock so I made the switch to the titanium and they overnighted it to me. So here it is (specs are in my signature). Sorry about some of the picture quality a SLR is in my near future

So here's my build before the R4

How it sat on my desk for 2 weeks :(

    IT FINALLY ARRIVED!

    Furious unboxing started

    Preparing the MOBO

Getting the MOBO mounted then unmounted because the front panel connectors got messed up

Everything is starting to come together :D

    Behind the motherboard tray :S

And here is the finished product

I pride myself on the cleanest cable management I can do but  the back suffers. I hope you enjoys enjoy the system and if you have any more suggestions let me know

So after some more small things here is the finished product:

It will depending on the quality of the media that you are playing, for example if you play 128kbps mp3 you wont notice any difference, but if you play losless audio such as aac or flac, you will definitivly notice a quality improvement.

Some particular motherboards don't have vrm designed for overclock. Most of them don't have a vrm heatsync and don't suport 140W CPU TDP. Some of them don't even support 125W TDP (GA 990A-D3 rev1). Do some research if you don't believe me.
An AMD 8+2 phase power design motherboard is more than enough for non sub-zero overclocking.

Im pretty sure that what they meant was that you had to flash the latest bios to the B Chip, then upgrade the CPU and move the switch, so if sth goes wrong with BIOS B you still have the BIOS A and the old cpu to reflash the BIOS.

You just need the latest BIOS to be flashed, you dont need to flash evey BIOS untill you flash the latest, its not like a Windows Update, its a full rom flashed, so theres no point of doing the intermediate updates.
