Surprised this hasn't been posted yet? I looked

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/freesync-faq.aspx

    and by the way...

as someone who's invested in AMD long term and watching their value (and my faith) plummet since their acquisition of ATi, this whole Free-Sync debacle is turning into such a joke imo. The label Free is becoming nothing more than a distasteful attack at G-sync.

there is nothing FREE about freesync. They're merely pushing the burden of R&D monitor manufacturer to adopt and build a solution. nvidia went about g-sync the way they did to guarantee the end result.

it's for reasons like this that I can't stand AMD's marketing/PR. Free-Sync is nothing but an attack on G-Sync for an idea that AMD didn't think of.

go ahead and label me an anti-AMD fanboy, but please justify the word "Free" in FreeSync

Why are you so offensive? Its not because I am lazy. I already have over 500 different passwords in my head that are longer than 20 characters and consist of special symbols, numbers, letters, ... I wont store them anywhere in my PC or write them down on sheet of paper just so that anyone can find it. I know that there are programs that can manage your passwords but given the fact that today every program has some backdoor or hole I cant trust them.
Now I have to assign every password to correct login name. It is not easy to remember and adding anothers will just make me a lot more confused if I forget something. That is why I am trying to minimalize need for useles garbage clients. As I mentioned before.. I like having different login information for everything so why should I have 3 gaming clients with 3 different login names and 3 different passwords if I can just have one? And yes.. it is kind of overkill having different logins everywhere but lets say I have same login for Steam as for Origin and someone figures my login information.. I instantly lost access to 2 servicess.

people that make different passwords for everything dont write them down for other people to find.

i keep all mine in a text file inside a passworded .rar on a seperate (also password protected) partition external harddrive

also uplay sucks cuz double drm, shitty ui, having to have multiple friends lists to play with people, if i lose internet for a brief second, it completely stops saving the game(lost 4 hours of assassins creed cuz i lost internet for less than 10 seconds).

I see it like this. I dont like having games scattered all over the place. That is the reason I use Steam. I want to have one single library where I keep all my games just within one login. Now when I go to Steam and buy Far Cry 3 for example I expect it to run out of Steam not from another client that installs along with the game for which I have to register again and remember new login information as I hate to have same login for everything and try to keep everything unique. Thats also reason why EA and Ubisoft wont see my money as I dont plan on buying their games because of this one stupid reason I have and I doubt I am the only one. I like freedom of choice and dont like forcing things on me.

    It exists

Means that I have to use yet another program to launch a game, I like all my games to be in steam so that It is easy to just open it, find a game and play

Also means another program to add friends too and all that

Uplay offline mode is a bit shitty and barely works,

    Its also ugly

It works fine, and doesnt give any major issues, I just wish I did not have to install ANOTHER program for the few ubi games I want to play

Stevemario reacted to LAwLz in UK anti-piracy action set to begin
    Alright here comes one.

This won't solve anything. People already know that piracy is illegal, and many of them already know about the legal alternatives.

Want to know why I pirate? For a few reasons. For example I hate, absolutely loathe DRM. I often pirate stuff I got legal and free access to, just because I don't want some bullshit DRM that makes it impossible to easily watch it. For example I got a ton of TV channels and NetFlix, and yet I still pirate some movies because I don't want to stream it since the bus I take to school goes through long distances where my cellular data connection just dies. I want my media played in my video player of choice, and stored locally so that it's fast (no buffering or waiting required) and doesn't eat up my limited data plan. Other times I literally can't get some content without moving to a different country. A lot of the anime I watch are not released outside of Japan so the only choices I got are to either pirate it, or move to Japan. I pick the first one and then support the creators by buying licensed goods (slightly NSFW).

I wrote a fairly long post about piracy a few years ago (brings up that "baww piracy is hurting the industry" is pure bullshit) and I think it still holds up.
Telling people that piracy is wrong is just a waste of money. What they should do instead is use that money to support and come up with new services that are better than piracy. I have no doubt in my mind that services like Steam, Spotify and NetFlix have reduced piracy, because a lot of the times they are better than piracy. Removing region restrictions (Swedish NetFlix sucks compared to the US one for example) would be a great way to reduce piracy. I see piracy as a solution to a distribution problem. Trying to stop piracy will not fix this problem, it is just a waste of money.

Its fixed, according to patch note's i read. Creeps now sit in middle of lane and wait and don't route around into the forest to get "closer" to their destination. Also dota > lol. Lol baby's the player imo, dota punishes for mistake's. Make's the game more rewarding for good play's and punishing for careless mistakes etc and intense.
lol what? Less skill that League? Just...wow.

I would spend $5 more and get a motherboard with a better chipset because that one doesnt have USB 3. I dont know over the years if I will want to use usb 3 and would hate myself if I let $5 stop me from using it. motherboard
