  1. So I was dumb and bought the wrong type of RGB lights for cheap. I didn't realize they were meant for 5v instead of 12v. I plugged them into the 12v RGB header on my motherboard, and they worked for a minute or so, but then they stopped working. I checked the lights with a proper 5v power supply and they seem to be working just fine. I'm worried that my RGB header doesn't work anymore. I want to be able to test it before I buy the right lights. I tried a multimeter, but the 12v pin only reads around 0.04 volts. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Isn't the 12v pin supposed to be 12v? Any help would be wonderful. EDIT: I'm just over reacting. I did a reboot and it's reading normally now.
  2. Ok. I'll tell him to return it and get a new one. He got it from Best Buy.
  3. I just don't get why it was working just fine for like 5 days.
  4. Does bad VRAM happen often? I mean, you would think a brand new card wouldn't just die not even a week after buying it.
  5. Hi, about a week ago, I installed a brand new 2060 SUPER into my cousin's brand new PC. It was working just fine until yesterday. He called me yesterday saying that he can't open any games. Any game he tries to open crashes with an error about the gpu. Even Superposition crashes. I went over to his place and did everything I could think of to try to fix the problem. I used DDU to remove the drivers and I reinstalled the latest drivers. Didn't work. I used DDU, then installed some older drivers. Didn't work. Tried some other games. Didn't work. I even called up NVIDIA and they gave me steps on how to fix it, but that didn't work. Now, he has REALLY bad artifacting. The gpu hasn't been overclocked. Do you guys think he just got a bad gpu?
  6. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has information on the GCT-8IT motherboard. I have two old socket 7 cpus and I've always wanted to test them out. I found a GCT-8IT motherboard for quite cheap so I wanted to learn more about it before purchasing it. The CPUs are an IBM 6x86L (PR166+) and a Cyrix 6x86-PR166. I also want to be able to test out this old ISA sound card I have. It's a MWave MC2780-7E. If you have any information on any of these parts please let me know.
  7. I have a 320watt psu that doesn't fit in the case, but will work with the motherboard, that should be enough for the 1050ti right?
  8. I was planning on getting an RX 570, but I realized it requires an extra 6 pin. The current pc has a 240watt psu, and it doesn't have any extra 6 pin connectors. I have an HP Compaq Elite 8000 with 10GB DDR3, an i5 2500, 3 hdds, a DVD drive, and a gtx 1050. If I upgraded to an rx570, I would need that extra 6 pin. I have 2 sata connections left on my psu. Can I use a dual sata to 6 pin? I don't know if I have enough power for that. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
