  1. Other than saying wait for reviews I personally would go with the Navi option. The reasoning on this is even though they have similar performance and price the anti-lag and the sharpening features actually seem to be much more valuable than DLSS or raytracing. Again without reviews theres no way to know but thats my take on it.
  2. Ok how about this then, can anyone of you find an RX 570 thats standard length / not long (200mm) and 400w SFF psu I can get for 150$ total. If you can I'll agree with you all.
  3. Me: Gee the 1650 finally released, I guess I should watch the reviews to see if its worth getting over a 1050ti since its a similar price or if a cheaper rx 550/560 / 750ti is actually better as a 75w option for my budget oem build with crappy psu. Every YouTube reviewer: (first 25 minutes of video) "The 1650 is 10% slower than the 570 they didn't give us press drivers, nvidia is teh bad". Me: Ok... *keeps watching* Every YouTube reviewer: (last 2 seconds of video) "also there are 75w versions but thats a niche so no one cares" Me: Ok, I guess I'll read the comments Almost every Youtube commenter: Well just buy a 570 and a new PSU. Oh it won't fit just get a new case! Proprietary connections? Oh well just throw your computer in the trash and then buy a new case psu mobo processor ram and a 570 its a much better deal!
  4. Depends, what's your total budget for the system and also what's the psu and ram.
  5. They are somewhat worser but that can be offset by having small screen resolution on a laptop.
  6. Ya speculation is a killer, like will the 1650 ti be worth it over 1050ti / 1650? Will the Navi have 570 performance at 75w? Will Navi actually start at 139? Will used 1050 models drop a bunch after 1650 / Navi is on the market? Should I wait for X and so on.
  7. Ways to find friends. Start playing magic the gathering or dnd at a local shop. Get a job with people your age, maybe work at a restaurant store or call center. Locate and join the local music scene, go to hippy / electronic music festivals they are very friendly places but don't start doing large amounts "receationals" start small if at all. Have a generally positive attitude don't bring up negative topics but if others are complaining about something join then and agree it's bullshit. Good luck out there ?
  8. Wow question I'm qualified to answer since I have this computer and have done a ton of research on the CPUs for it . The board is socket 775 but there is publicly available modded bios to run lga 771 if you use an adapter or buy one with an adapter pre-installed from ebay or aliexpress that will make that board support a Xeon X3 line processor. Now there are good Xeon X5 lines as well but from what I found you would need an optiplex 760 to run those on the modded bios. Im not positive an X5 line like a Xeon X5450 couldn't work but I didn't want to risk it since it was a long shipping time from china. As for what processor you should buy I would say your best options listed are here listed from highest to lowest price: Intel Core2Quad Q9650 - Quad core 3.00ghz Intel Core2Quad Q9400-Q9500 - Quad core 2.66-2.83ghz Intel Xeon X3363 - Quad core 2.83ghz Intel Core2Quad Q8200-Q8300 - Quad core 2.33-2.5ghz Intel Core2Quad Q6600 - Quad core 2.40ghz Intel Core2Duo E8600 - Dual core 3.33ghz These can all be found for the ranges of 5$-45$ and are your best choices without spending too much or going too low on performance. For reference you can see a full list of these performance on 775/771 processors here: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/socketType.html#id5 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/socketType.html#id9 On mine I have a modded Xeon X3363 which is 2.83ghz quad core with 12mb L2 Cache. I got it on aliexpress for 10$ using a new user coupon for 4$ off. Prices seem up right now about 5-9$ higher than I ranges I was looking at last year but they do fluctuate so I would expect they come down a bit depending on when you shop. Here is my full system for reference (needs a gpu upgrade :O): 20$ Dell Optiplex 780 10$ Xeon x3363 processor 771>775 Mod (4c/4t 2.83ghz) 45$ 16gb Hynix DDR3 1333mhz 25$ Intel 240gb SSD 20$ GT 730 2gd5 win 7 64 bit professional Total cost : 110$ Also though it may risk make everything else I've said invalid but I think you can do better than the option you listed. Optiplex 760-780 are routinely available for very cheap on craiglist as many offices are getting rid of them and unless don't have an OS and don't plan on upgrading any other components this is not a great deal overall when base optiplexs are around for 20-40$. Also for 169$ you can probably find a slightly less old office machine running an i5 that would be far more capable. Techyescity also have done a lot of videos about the slightly newer (2010) 6 core xeons that can be had for very cheap on old machines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=VMbUXKsMKKA
  9. Ya I guess I'll wait at least a few days to see what models launch
  10. https://www.newegg.com/Desktop-Computers/SubCategory/ID-10?Order=PRICED
  11. Its a dell optiplex 780 with a sub 300w psu and small form factor, would only support cards power via PCIE bus without finding a SFF/SFX psu upgrade
  12. Good options but I'd need to find one that's not too long for case and change psu to some sort of higher watt SFX for that to work.
  13. Used is fine but currently on ebay having trouble finding anything better pricing than 129 on 1050ti unless I win an auction, 69 is best price I can find for 460 other than oem 2gb for 62$.
  14. Hiya guys, I've been agonizing for months about what do for my GPU in my system so thought I would ask for other opinions. My system is extremely budget and though price isn't a huge issue for me I want it to have the best overall price/performance ratio and keep price down as much as possible. I'm also not in a huge rush so waiting isn't a big issue for me. This would be the final component in my system I've been working on and I don't wanna end up getting something and either regretting it or it not working. I currently have an EVGA GT 730, which works for my games fine except the display driver often crashes even after a clean install so it is very dangerous using it on Diablo2/3 since I play hardcore mode. My use case is pretty light, on my desktop I use following games and programs: Diablo 3 Diablo 2 Magic Arena Hearthstone League of Legends Vivaldi Gimp Mixxx My system / budget I've hit so far is as follows: 20$ Dell Optiplex 780 10$ Xeon x3363 processor 771>775 Mod (4c/4t 2.83ghz) 45$ 16gb Hynix DDR3 1333mhz 25$ Intel 240gb SSD 20$ GT 730 2gd5 win 7 64 bit professional Total cost : 110$ Other system constraints are a weak psu so no card using external connectors. The system also only supports single slot low profile GPU, but I do have a pcie extension cable and a dremel so I believe I could mod the case to fit a 2 slot as I've seen others do. My thought process on the options are as follows: gt 1030; "it just works" would require no modding would definitely still be much faster than current gpu. Fits my use case just fine even if its the weakest option. RX 460: Best price / performance, would require modding. 1050 ti: Best performance currently, decent price if bought b stock. Powerful enough for most modern games at 1080p med settings and more than powerful enough for my chosen games. Needs modding. 1050: Still good power for my usecase and slightly cheaper than 1050 ti 1650: Launches very soon, probably will have best performance possible without external power excluding maybe navi. Warranty and futureproofing. Highest price. Navi: May be stronger than any current option. Love the Navi name (Lain reference). New card will have a warranty etc. Unknown price / performance / launch. Wait for price drop: price on 1050ti and others could come way down after 1650 and navi but unknown if that will happen or when. So please vote and let me know what you all think!
