    Just Googling it, it seems to stand for Itanium indeed.
    Not really something Intel seems to be advertising a ton though.

    The i and the number are what Intel calls the 'Brand modifier': https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html
    It probably stands for "intel" I would assume.
     
    It's basically a way to easily see what 'class' of CPU it is you're looking at, with i3 being on the bottom, i5, i7, i9 above that in that order. Of course they release a new CPU of all of those every year and you have desktop and laptop varieties..
