  1. Hi guys Bit of helped needed, my pc has just updated to windows 1903 and all havoc broke loose! display drivers wouldn't work, tried re installing them, no joy, the pc would blue screen me and go into repair mode, then try to boot up, sometimes it'll go back into repair mode and boot, other it'll just switch off! i've tired repairing using a boot able usb, when the pc re starts it crashes, or it'll boot but i can't log in, i'm going round in circles and tried every avenue to no avail. My question is, i'm going to do a fresh install install of windows, now the ssd is only used for the operating system, i have 2 other HDD's on board for storage, they both have files, films, video's and games stored on them but no operating systems. When i come to re install windows onto the SSD should i leave the other 2 drives plugged into the motherboard or should i unplug them, i don't want to loose anything off the 2 other drives Thanks in advance for any input and help Dave
  2. Thanks for the advice , i had a funny idea windows did something to the system, I'll try the iso file with rufus, i've used that before. If that doesn't work i guess i'll have to remove both drives and wipe them, is this just a case of plugging them into my other sata port on my other pc , right click on the drive and format? or is more involved? I'm still learning about some stuff lol so don't want to mess things up. Thanks Dave
  3. Hi everyone, hope someone can help me out with this issue. My old motherboard had a problem with the cmos battery holder, so i bought another board secondhand of the same type (intel bq77mk) Had a few issues first off as the board couldn't find any devices, sorted that in the bios as it was trying to boot from a network Next problem was no operating system detected, even though in the bios the boot order was correct (ssd, hdd, dvd) Checking in the bios and changed a few settings, it made no difference, i then unplugged the hdd and dvd leaving just my ssd with the windows 10 installed on it. The pc now boots but goes straight into windows 10 repair mode, i get the message KMOD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED Is this to do with changing the MB and using the SSD with windows already installed on another MB? I've already switched my ram about, tried 1 stick and swapped that, tried 4 different ones, still the same, swapped cpu's no difference and i'm pretty sure the bios is set up ok.also plugged the hdd back in. I did download windows 10 again with the tool to create an installation media from a usb install/repair, but the pc won't boot from it, just goes back into the loop with the same message. If i have to do a clean install, what's the best way to wipe both drives and start all over again, i do have another pc i can plug drives into to do this. Thanks Dave
  4. Thanks for you input, for the price i'm being offered (£40) the RX460 is brand new ,the GTX 760 has hardly been used so was wondering which one was best to start out with. Looking at prices on fleabay i might just buy both and build myself something a little better lol i think for gaming the pc option looks far better, some of these builds you guys and girls have are amazing, i can see this being a wallet bashing experience. Oh and i put the wrong CPU down it's an I7 2600k.
  5. I'm in Bolton uk , both around the same price give or take a few £££ if they're both good cards i might just pick them both up, want one for a budget build on my sons pc
