  1. I forgot to mention originally that I have a wheel and pedal setup on a TV not far from computer, but far enough to make wired headphones annoying. So wireless is pretty much a need to have. Will check out those Maxwell's later
  2. They where most likely the a40's than, they most definitely not wireless. As for price range $300 is the top end of what I would want to spend. $300 USD being close to almost $400 Cad.
  3. I'm thinking about swapping out my Corsair Void wireless headphones for a pair of wireless Astros or perhaps more audiophile grade wireless headphones and slap on a modmic. I'm only using audiophile to differentiate from your typical gaming style of headphones/headsets. My first "real headphones" where a pair of wired A50's(I think) I bought about 10 years ago. I don't know when exactly but I wanted to go wireless so I got a pair of Voids from Corsair. I think they had just shortly came out at the time I bought them. Looking at the current version of the wireless Astros I like how they handle charging with a dock/pins vs a cable, which mine is starting to crack. I'm just curious before pulling the trigger if there are any "wireless audiophile" headphones with the same or similar method of charging where I don't have to worry about my cable breaking. Oh, and while not a deal breaker I'm thinking of going open-back for audiophile headphones. PS: I will primarily be using these for gaming and YouTube/Movies
  4. Really? I figured it would only be enough but not ideal
  5. Well, to be fair it only ramps up the fans when a cpu load is out to the system. Plus I accidentally broke one of the mounting screws for the cpu block. Actually pretty sure it’s the exact same location as one did in a video Linus several months ago. I got some new hardware to try and fix from EK, just haven’t attempted a fix yet. It’s resulted in me having to loosen other screws to get system to boot
  6. It's been almost a year since I first built my new custom loop PC so it's probably a good time to start thinking about doing a little loop maintenance, clean it out and put in some new liquid. *Knock on wood* I have had zero issues with the loop so far. This got me thinking that it would also be a good time to upgrade my case. While I am mostly happy with my Corsair 5000D I didn't realize at the time I was limiting myself to a pair of slim 360mm radiators which don't seem to be quite doing the job of cooling my Ryzen 5 7600x and RTX 4080. Originally I was looking at the Hyte Y60 but I couldn't find a Canadian retailer to buy from for MSRP. Is that still a good option and what other cases should I look at, like the 5000D's big brother the 7000D?
  7. I'm currently thinking about getting my mom a new laptop for Christmas, her current one is as old as the hills and slower than said hill. She said she wanted something with a touch screen, but I don't think she actually wants that or more correctly realize how little she would actually use it. Immediately I thought of the Dell XPS series but I'm wondering if that's possibly overkill? I'm not 100% sure what she uses her laptop for outside of basic internet browsing and email/file transfer and whatever programs she uses for her sewing machines. But I doubt it's for anything that even a current entry level laptop can handle. Oh and I'm only looking at windows since that is what she's already has and is used to. I did also think of Frameworks but they all start at liken 2000
  8. I'm currently looking at connecting a tv to my computer which already setup for dual monitors, for when I want to play some racing games with my basic sim setup. And I can't decide if I want to run a display port/HDMI converter off of my RTX 4080 to the tv or get a 1x2 splitter than I change which output is displayed. For cost effectiveness the converter is probably best, but I feel like the splitter/switch is a more elegant solution as I won't have a need for either of my dual monitors. PS: My main display is connected via Display Port, and second monitor is occupying the single hdmi port on the rtx 4080
  9. It’s the Corsair HX1000 and I bought it back in December. Only started using February. And a very strange thing happened this morning. I tested it again and it powered up some fans just fine. But when I went to try it a second time nothing happened
  10. Well, I think my psu is dead, somehow. Got it separated from everything, hooked it up to my Lian Li fans via controller. Got a millisecond of fan spin. Than just to be absolutely sure I hooked my pump as if to fill loop. Yes I know, pump with no water, bad idea. But a second of running to confirm life is all I needed. Zero signs of life. Loop was leak free so I have no clue what could have killed psu
  11. This the same principle as using a jumper to power just your water pump to fill your loop?
  12. First thing I tried. Thankfully I still got my old pc so just gonna use that while I tear this one down. The way I had to build it I had to install ssd’s first than gpu. Probably not needed but I’m just start from zero again and keep testing it’s I go. Cpu block with no water should be good enough to just confirm life.
  13. I am not, guess I have to tear down entire loop now. Two months in and already regretting going water cooled
  14. Ok, I already plan to use EK’s clean/super flush kit before refilling loop. So by sounds of it that will take care of anything that might grow while I’m waiting for it to get here
