Shouldn't really differ much if at all. Sure in cpu bound games the 5900x will be a couple % better due to the higher core close but that is it. I actually wouldn't be suprised if you end up outperforming that system slightly as you have a HUGELY better airflow case and they are also injecting all the heat of the cpu in the case and airflow to the gpu thus making it heat up and lowering it's max boosting potential as nvidia stops clocking higher once they hit 83c and will boost as high as they can whilst maintaining in that temp limit.

Amazing, thank you so much for all the help I really appreciate it! Truly!

You will eventually have to upgrade. If past data is anything to go by the 5800x will pull you through till the ps5 and xbox get replaced by a higher performance model (as in properly end of life so thing xbox series 2 or ps6).

Ram who knows 16gb is currently plenty and adding in more isn't exactly hard to do but since this is weird and whacky rgb ram you might want to load up now instead of the future when it is hard to find.

As I said at the start you will eventually have to upgrade and the first part to always go is the gpu in terms of need for replacement. Probably in 4-5 years at max you'll get a new one as most people do. That is if you constantly play the newest games but who knows what you'll be doing in 4-5 years.

Storage is often upgraded too in the future as more is needed so that is also a it might happen it might not situation and buying more now just because it can happen isn't a smart idea. The only thing I am fairly certain of is that hdds for AAA games will become a thing of the past and you'll start needing a ssd for them all.

Okay thank you this helped me understand the situation alot better haha!  My last question, I really liked the frames on the video link I originally posted because most of those games are ones that I currently play and get nothing near those, how significantly do you imagine the frames would differ with these parts when compared to the setup that he had

    Changed things around a bit.

More ssd storage on a drive plenty fast

    Better psu

Lower cpu that is better than the consoles so no sweat for gaming for the entire generation of them

Far better case with some rgb as it seemed you like that

Lowered ram to 16 but if you want get more. Little point in getting white sticks as that will be hard to see anyway.

thank you so much man, I don't mean to be repetitive but do you think that if I don't mind spending a bit more I should just get a higher cpu and higher ram as you mentioned, that way even in the far future I would not have to upgrade anything.

What will this be used for? Why the set price on the 5900x?

As for your current parts list

The revolution d.f 850w is same price or lower for a higher quality psu the seasonic is totally fine but might as well get the best if it is an option

The h510 SUCKS. Well not really it can barely suck in any air and thus has terrible airflow. Do not get it if you want a cool system and get a mesh from (or in case of the o11 mesh side not obstructed intakes)

Board is good but not the best for the money you are spending cheaper boards are just as good if not better.

No need for a liquid cooler plenty of air coolers can easily handle a 5900x

If you want REALLY good rgb fans for not much money arctic got you covered nice rgb with fans that are as quiet as noctuas and perform like them.

Anything else is no comment because I don't know what you want to do with the system and thus will not make a revise parts list yet.

I mainly just game on it, I set the price at that because I included the cost of extra cables in it as well, price isn't necessarily an issue I just want parts I will not have to upgrade in the future, my main concern is the system getting too hot.  Would you mind revising the list with a better case and any extra things I need.  I got the liquid cooler because I really like how it has the screen that shows temp and gifs, so mainly for aesthetic purposes lol, but very helpful info if you could help that'd be awesome

    1) 5900x? what do you do with your PC?

    2) NZXT H510 isnt great for temperatures of components, but if you like the looks then it's fine i guess? you have some high wattage components so do reconsider

Sorry I thought 5900 would be best, I mainly just game on it, price isnt nessicarrly an issue I just want parts I will not have to upgrade in the future, my main concern is the system getting too hot.

  6. Hey guys really just wondering if this is a good overall build or if anything can be swapped out when it comes to a better case so that there is proper airflow and I don't have to worry about anything overheating.  Also wondering if there is a better motherboard I should go with, price is not an issue I just really want to maximize my 3080.  I do want the case to be white and see a lot of good things when it comes to the Lian-Li 011 when it comes to airflow but I am not sure if I'd need to add more fans or what exactly I should do, the inspo for the build I made is basically a copy paste of this video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUFcQ37Z1wo&ab_channel=XtianCXtianC

The benchmarks seem insane so I figured I couldn't go wrong with this however some of the comments do worry me a bit. Any help would be appreciated as I am still pretty new when it comes to the actual build process.

    Build Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RTdTcT

Graphics card priced at 0 because i own already

Processor priced higher because I included the cost of extra cables in it.

  7. Hey guys just needed some hopefully quick help, I've been trying to put together this build and was looking for a white case and saw some great things about these parts but at the bottom of the screen i am getting several error messages, any sugestions on what i shoulld do to fix it or what i should swap out. thanks in advance.

  8. Hello everyone, I am pretty new to pc and was wondering what is more important or if both are pretty much equal.  Right now these are the parts I was looking at, with my focus being on a really good mouse and a average keyboard.  Let me know what you guys think.

    Keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Multi-Device-Mechanical-Rechargeable-Switch-White/dp/B0731CJ4ZJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=royal+kludge+white&qid=1556061176&s=gateway&sr=8-1

    Mouse Option 1: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Esports-Performance/dp/B07GCKQD77

Mouse Option 2 (I'd be buying this one from a friend for a much better price, this is just a reference): https://www.amazon.com/FinalMouse-Ultralight-Phantom/dp/B07F7SCHHH/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3EENFMHLF3KBU&keywords=finalmouse&qid=1556061265&s=electronics&sprefix=final%2Celectronics%2C197&sr=1-4

(Also: I am more than welcome to any mouse and keyboard recommendations/personal favorites, like i said earlier, I am new :) )

here a build I put together for you. Good thing is going AMD route you can upgrade in the future to a new CPU without the need to upgrade your motherboard. also as you want to game and stream I would recommend AMD. Better at multitasking and everyday use.

Thank you so much for this list! I talked to one of the tech experts at Best Buy and he agreed on the AMD being better for multitasking so I will definitely go this route, my only question is, i wont need a cooling fan because it is already in these parts correct? and how many fps can i expect to be pushing? at least 144?

  10. 23 minutes ago, Slottr said:

Higher resolution displays tend to get more expensive. However I would stick to your 1080p plan, live out your new system for as long as you can. You don't seem like you need a higher resolution display. Difference between 1080p and 1440 is fairly minimal anyways

sounds good, so i will go with that 1080 monitor and the build the other guy recommended! Thank you for everything

  11. 11 minutes ago, Slottr said:

1440p is a harder resolution to spit out than 1080p is,

Refresh rate of a monitor is how many times the monitor refreshes/second, giving it that smoothness.

Dropping below the refresh rate in frames per second, you might see some funky stuff like tearing and such.

ok i think i get it, so the 1440 is the way to go, is it cheaper or more expensive, and is there a recomended model?

  12. 2 minutes ago, Slottr said:

Overclocking is pushing the speed of a component above the stock speeds by adjusting its clock and voltage

I can't imagine that you'd be anywhere under 144 fps at any time

ok sounds good, so that build he posted matched with a 144hz 1080p monitor should be fine? and what is the best specs of a monitor I can possibly run with that build? (most likely my last question lol) thank you so much!

  13. 1 minute ago, Slottr said:

For sure. I guess I oversaw that you probably wouldnt overclock (right?), and the 2070 would help. Though I personally don't feel it is worth the extra tax for it on 1080p. If you think you can use it though, by all means

overclock? and if you think this is the better build with more performance abilities than I shall choose it.  BTW how many frames should i expect to be pushing on games like fortnite, gta r6 seige.  (mainly fortnite)

  14. 12 minutes ago, Slottr said:

Honestly, I kinda noticed that a little while ago, and wondered too

Though I figured the 8700k would do good for 144hz gaming and streaming, while passing a 1660ti on 1080p 144hz doesn't make too much sense to me? A 2070 would be more so of a waste of money on that resolution. Though it is up to OP, which is why I made the 2070 comment shortly after that.

would you agree then Sloter? that that build is the way to go for competitive, and streaming?

wait sorry im not very knowledgeable on this, what is the difference from this one and the other?

  16. 3 minutes ago, Slottr said:

wait, so its only like 33 dollars for a more powerful build? lol shouldnt i just get this one then? and yeah i am in college so ill see what I can do about windows. thank you.

  17. 3 minutes ago, Slottr said:

No problem, it's literally the reason I sit on here lol

You wouldnt need to change anything theoretically. Granted, theres two things to take account for- one: is power supply. If you have add a power hungry card next to the processor in that list (8700k), you may need to upgrade that as well. If you want to feel safe, I can change the list for you to a decent 650w unit. The second thing is bottlenecking. Currently the 8700k is a GREAT chip for gaming, though tech changes over time so it depends how far down the line you upgrade and what has changed between now and then.

    Your second question:

Yes there's tons. There's all of the beginners build guides done by LTT, Pauls Hardware and others. All consumer pc's are generally the same and carry the same principles over all.

    Here's a few

You'll need to reference your manuals every once in a while for parts that are maybe a little bit more proprietary, like your cpu cooler might have a different mounting system than others, or motherboard connector placements may differ, etc.

thank so much this will be very helpful, and yes if you wouldn't mind making that 650w unit list for future reference i'd really appreciate it haha.

  18. 12 minutes ago, Slottr said:

Yep, the current one is the 1660ti. It's a great card for 1080p

ok cool sorry for all the questions but these are the last two lol. 1. If i eventually get more money and want to upgrade the card I can do so just to get that 2070 and I wont have to change anything else around in the build right? And 2. any videos you recommend I check out when building this for the first time

thank you so much man, and this PC build will allow me to run those super congested endgames in competitive Fortnight no problem? And be able to stream them? Thank you though so much I appreciate it
