  1. Just sent my resume and such. They sent me an email asking for it about two weeks ago. College has just finshed and work was hectic that it slipped my mind... However they said 2 weeks (after first email), they would begin reviewing applicants. This mean im okay and I didnt just screw myself? Im hoping to be a testing engineer as im getting my BSME (bachelors of mechanical engineering) in May.
  2. I of course had forgotten to send my reusme and such. College just finished and work has been wild. Hoping its okay though.. Id love to be an engineer for them. I have so much experience with many engineering things.
  3. Budget (including currency): 2000- 3000ish USD (or 4,000 USD if needed) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: USED MOSTLY FOR FUSION 360 / CAD Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My job asked me to do heavy CAD work. They NEED a new computer. Its for designing gyrocopters. They gave me basically any budget i think is necessary, but i dont want to go TOO far... I prefer to buy NEW. Not worried on mouse, Keyboard and Screen. Again, this is for Work CAD. Im looking at Ryzen based system, and this is where i am at with possible parts 5900x or 5950x(but i think the 5900x is more than enough), Gigabyte x570 MOBO, 64GB of 3600 Ram, and 1Tb of NVME ssd. But im not sure about Graphics card. I was thinking 3080 or 3070 gpu, but i also hear quadro cards are better for CAD. I don't know. if anyone has better choices of any of these parts so far, feel free to advise. Thank you guys!
  4. Hello, I just built my first PC and I have a used 2070 super. it runs fine and can really pack a hell of a punch. However, under heavier loads when I let a game turn off V-sync and get 300+ FPS, i hear a fuzz come from the GPU. Ive read it could easily be from the PSU. I found an old thread and a tier list for the PSU. Under other forums iv read that the PSU was the culprit (more or else). I understand there will be a fuzz cause of power consumption. I also found my PSU coming in the F of the review of the tier list. I have a EVGA super nova GA 650W. Should i replace the PSU for a corsair RMx750? Ive read these PSUs are really good and have great cap quality. and it has helped the coil whine for some people
  5. is the RM 750 a good one to go with to help with this GPU coil whine? I know this threadis old but i just built my PC and i am experiencing this whine
  6. Alrighty, thank you very much. Appreciate the help.
  7. is 130 F about normal? I just want to increase longevity
  8. I just got an SSD, and It's temps are normal, but I want to get a cheap/ good thermal pad. its in a laptop. Whats a good brand/ waht is a good thermal pad should i look for? thanks
  9. Ah, thanks, I understand now. Appreciate it
  10. So, im possibly looking to upgrade my RAM in my Dell Precision Laptop. RIght now, its got 16 GB, at 2400Mhz. However, the board is overclocking it, at 25xx MHz, When Looking at CPU-Z.. So, if it's over clocking the ram, can I buy 2666MHz Ram, so it would be able to run it at 2666MHz. Or, would it act like normal? (like it is now) Im looking at HYPER-X or corsair. If its cheaper to get the faster ram, then I'll just get that. Maybe I am reading the CPU-Z wrong. cause it's showing 2 different frequency. Thanks! Also, I do know my CL and etc etc. CPU-Z tells me everything i need to know, in that regards.
  11. Hello all, I am reaching out for some help, regarding hotkey assigning with my new (to me) blue tooth key board. I recently had a head injury and during this recovery, my eyes are having trouble with looking at distance, so i am forced to re-train my brain to look at distances. anywho, the new bluetooth keyboard is a used Logitech K760, solar powered board. And I'm really liking it a lot. However, because it is really meant for a Mac, there are a couple buttons that don't do their intended function, Ie. the task view and brightness controls (F4, and F6/F7). I looked into getting a hotkey program, but I'm lacking the skill and time to really understand it. Other than those few keys, all of windows hotkeys and etc work just fine. I can easily just ignore the button controls and use the mouse to do everything, but i'd like to know if i can map the three keys to do their function properly. If not, that's okay. Or if there is an easy way i can get it to work well, i can do that with free time i have. However as of now, i cant really look long at my screen. also, because the task view is controlled by the touchpad gesture, is there a way I can map that gesture to the key board? My current update of Win 10 doesn't have the ability to change the gesture to the key. I do have gesture editing, but i can't seem to get it working to do the task I want (task view). I can get something similar to the taskview by useing Win+tab, but i'd like to have that action done by the F4 button on the keyboard. thank you very much! Also, I dont have any code to attach here. sorry
  12. thought so. But, how Do i Create the install media? thank you
  13. Hello, I am soon to pull the plug to buy my first SSD. I believe the one I am looking at will fit well into my Dell Precision 5520 Laptop. Is there a preference on leaving my HDD as my boot drive, and just use the SSD for files? I would like to have speedy boots again and relax my HDD. Should I have the SSD be my boot drive and my HDD be where I keep the files? If i do use the SSD as my boot drive, how do i go about making it that? I dont want to purchase windows again, because it came with my laptop. Its Windows 10. Also, i would like the process to be as reliable as possible. This is my everyday computer for school, work, and the occasional gaming. My HDD is 2TB also. (1.8 TB from task manager) Thank you, Also, here is the SSD I am looking to invest in. WD_Black SN750 500GB NVMe Internal Gaming SSD - Gen3 PCIe, M.2 2280, 3D NAND - WDS500G3X0C
  14. Hello all, lately I have been thinking of putting in a "modern" proximity switch in my car. I am wanting it to be like a kill switch. When I enter the car, the switch will activate. When I'm out of the car, the switch will turn off killing the car. My idea is to use it as anti-theft. Does anyone have an idea with may a finger print, prox card, or something like the keyless entry? It's an older car so it should be simple to wire it. But I'm not sure what parts I am gonna need. Thanks
  15. so, can anyone recommend an external SSD? Thanks.
  16. I haven't maxed it, but I want to be able to back up my data without cloud and a also be able to access data without internet and just have extra space in general. I've heard ssds don't have much write cycles. Is it more than hard drives??
  17. Hello, Im a college student and with my birthday coming up, im looking into external memory devices. I am stuck between an SSD or Hard Drive. I am looking at 2-4TB drive, to last me many years, that can take a good daily use with plenty of writes and being shaken around. Thank you.
