  1. I’m having a similar issue but it started all of a sudden after I added speakers. I know odd. so I’ve been using 4 total screens. 1 is my LG oled c1 which is at my desk, then I have 3 monitors for my sim rig. I’ve been using display magition to switch between the 2 and no problems. Till… I connected my speakers to the onboard via 3.5 and everything was working fine, then I rebooted my pc and now I can’t plug in the HDMI without windows shitting the bed and I get all black screens. Nothing works. If I unplug the hdmi (tv) it works only if I either reboot or using teamviewer and somehow logging in resets the 3 monitors that are in nvidia surround and that turns back on, i don’t know what to do, I’ve googled and tried everything. Whatever reason I can’t have the HDMI’s plugged in while the other 3 are on. It’s like windows is freezing because I see the noise over one of the 3 black screens but then it goes away and no video. I really don’t want to reinstall windows..I have so much software on the sim side that it’s annoying and gonna take me a few days to set it all up again. any ideas? I’m about to just not use my desktop till I can find a 2nd computer to use at my desk
  2. I had a similar issue with my 4090 where, i was getting no video but the computer was clearly still booting up...I had teamviwer setup and was able to login via that and noticed windows wasn't detecting the card correctly. I used DDU and removed the drivers and when I went to install the drivers, the nvidia software also said something, i forget exactly what but that the drivers were not for that card. So i ended up using a different cable riser i had and it worked and booted right up into windows...so not exactly sure what happen. Maybe the riser cable i had wasn't compatible with the 4090? I was using it just fine with other graphics cards and didn't have an issue, including the 3090.. So something is up
  3. Microcenter is a better store..period. Especially for tech. It's not even close to debatable. Microcenter's selection for tech is wayyyyy more...not to mention their prices are way better. I've come to see that bestbuy typically isn't really the best buy....they overprice a LOT of their stuff..especially smaller accessories like cables. While you won't beat amazon pricing on either for accessories like cables. Now, bestbuy isn't without it's strengths..for TV's it's great..but price wise..they typically are more..bestbuy is rarely the best buy. The few times i've gone there to buy something has been because they had stock, but the price was less online...but they do price match which is why they will be known as amazon showroom. For computer components the only reason i've went to bestbuy was because of stock and that was ONLY for GPU and a power supply during the shortage time. Otherwise microcenter is light years ahead in terms of selection..the fact you can walk in and pretty much by any component had have 20+ version of said item is way better. My local bestbuy had like 3 sticks of ram and 2 motherboards... Microcenter has 50+ of each if not more
  4. Why not use the quest for VR? I have a similar setup, i much prefer the oculus experience.
  5. I have yet to see temp go over 65* while doing anything other than a synthetic bench. Playing spiderman, automobilsita, asseto coursa in VR with 4K and pretty much all settings at ultra, i don't see it get over those temps. It's mostly in the mid to low 60's. which is fine. Not sure how some people are getting it to stay in the 80's tho during cinebench, i can't seem to do it and thats on a 360mm aio kraken
  6. On a Kraken x73 360mm, I’m getting 89-90* running cinebench. however when gaming I’m not seeing those temps, I just got it today and I was worried about the temps but it seems normal. Running god of war on my 3090 4K with everything maxed it barely went passed 60. I’ll try a few games but regardless I’m happy with the performance compared to my 2600x
  7. probably not what you are looking for, but i've been using a few wyze cams at my house and it's been working great. Not to mention they are SUPER cheap. You have 2 options...you can use the standard firmware and just throw in some high capacity micro SD cards to store video of a few days and use their APP to control and view recordings. Currently that is what i do, I don't personally think I need to have the recordings last for longer than a few days, if something was to happen, i would have the recording and just save it to my PC. They also provide free storage for events, Movement it detects and stores them in like 10 second clips. I will admit, that method doesn't always work. There are plenty of times the motion doesn't get detected. However, because it records 24/7 to the SD card i can just go back and look at whatever time i want. If that isn't something you want to do your second option would be to install the RTSP firmware on the cams and than use a 3rd party software to keep the records and than have it store or save the recordings to a cloud service. This is obviously to save money because the cams are so inexpensive, you can pretty much by 10 of them for the price of a normal one. Even with the outdoor cases they have it ends up being cheaper. The only downside for them is they require micro USB to be powered, which is my only problem with them. I wish they were POE powered, but whatever. Can't really complain for a cam that is so cheap.
  8. I really wish they had thrown in a Huawei Matebook Pro X It literally has everything going for it and i honestly think in a blind test that would have been picked. Everything linus wanted in the laptop would have been in the matebook pro x and more.
  9. i front fan would fix any heating issue the harddrive would have, not to mention it probably would see little usage anyway
  10. I do not agree, simply because the average consumer does not see the difference. I'm basing this on personal experience, every day, with both phones XR and the XS side by side..people have a difficult time telling the difference between the 2. However, I'll tell you this, if the room they were in wasn't so bright, and they were outside lets say at night, the deep blacks of the OLED screens are MUCH more of a visual tell. In a bright store, with both running demo loops of the same content, a MAJORITY of people can not tell the difference, which is hard to justify the $300 difference in price. I'm not disagreeing that the oled screen isn't better...im a HUGE fan of oled. My tv at home is an LG oled, but in the end it comes down to the average person and most people can't tell the difference between QLED from a Samsung or OLED from a LG. However, the 2 have very different panels and look VERY different to a person that might be more familiar with the tech.
  11. not sure why people get so hung up on PPI and LCD. Yes higher resolution tends to look better, the difference between the 2 isn't really nearly as apparent than one for a bigger screen like a tablet or tv. For a person that sells the product, i can agree that XR IS BY FAR, the most popular of the iphones, followed by MAX. I think the reason why it does sell so well, is because people have a hard time justifying $300 to have an oled screen. A majority of people don't even know what oled is vs LCD. I can't tell you how many times i get asked, "so what's the difference?"... On top of that a lot of providers have been doing Buy one get one pricing and the XR tends to be free and that seems to give the edge over the higher priced models. In the end all the phones do the same stuff, they just want to go on facebook and send photos and if it works good, that's more than enough.
  12. Yea, in hindsight I should have just done that
