  1. My Blue Yeti is making a tapping/electrical sound at rapid, uneven intervals. I noticed that when I move behind it, the sound becomes quieter. I also found that my headset mic earrapes when I listen to it, so I'm thinking it might be a software issue. It is also possible, but highly unlikely, that both mics were damaged due to a massive power surge I had. I don't think this is the case because my peripherals work fine and my Blue Yeti has worked up until this point (The power surge was maybe 3-4 weeks ago). Help?
  2. It has come to my attention that Cheat Engine creates a temp file with every scanned address in it. I would very much like to disable it because, you see, it created a 241GB temp file when I accidentally selected the Not option(It scanned everything, basically). If anyone knows how I might prevent Cheat Engine from doing this again, that would be very helpful.
  3. Sorry for the delayed reply. By true surround sound I mean headphones that have more than two drivers.
  4. I literally cannot find any straight answer for this.
  5. I have a flexible $200 budget to spend on a pair of headphones and potentially an amp/dac. I need true surround sound for gaming and I would like to have good audio quality for music. If you need to know, my motherboard is the Asus ROG Strix B350-F. I am currently looking at the Sennheiser GSP 600. Any recommendations?
  6. Okay, so I've done some testing. A lot of 3dmark physics tests saw a 20-40% decrease in performance. Solidworks only slightly improved. GTA Story Mode improved from 87 fps(avg.) to 101. GTA Online saw no improvement. Subnautica effectively doubled in fps. The Witcher 3 didn't change, though I was only checking it to make sure I didn't create a bottleneck. CS:GO started stuttering, I had to disable multicore rendering to fix it. General applications like chrome and steam are much snappier now and my computer feels a bit more responsive. I have only seen performance drops in 3dmark, nothing else.
  7. I'll be testing it tomorrow. I'll post what I find in case someone could find it useful.
  8. Hear me out. I use Solidworks, which is a singlethreaded(I believe) application. I have several cpu bottlenecks in games that don't take advantage of all the threads. Shouldn't disabling hyper-threading allow those applications to make more use of my cpu? I use my gpu for rendering so there really isn't much that fully utilizes my cpu. If you're wondering, I have a 1700x.
  9. I have two graphics cards: An XFX RX 580 (8GB) & an Asus Strix 980. I am planning on selling both but I need to keep one for now, so which should I sell first? I'll be using the one I keep for 1080p gaming. Btw I replaced the 980's thermal compound with some high performance stuff, temps are great.
  10. I use Blender, UE4, Unity, AutoCAD, and Solidworks, but I also game. My budget is 900$. Should I get the rtx 4000 or something else?
  11. It isn't a whine. It is a high pitched sound that repeats. It is like a sqeeky hinge being opened and closed rapidly. Edit: It is mechanical
  12. The gpu is idle. Hopefully I still have warranty
  13. Five minutes ago I started hearing a sound coming from my psu(prob psu). It is a high pitched, repeating sound. The sound isn't constant and stops momentarily. My power supply is an EVGA Gold 850W Fully Modular. I assume it is the fan bearings. Will I have to replace it?
