    The video they made can be defined by "incompetence"
    Not returning it when it was asked for twice and then auctioning it off without authorization has little to do with incompetence though.

    It's kinda crazy to think so many give this blanket "advice"
    I have no idea why or how Seasonic got this god tier status but it's spread worldwide, same deal here in France and all over the Internet really
    "Need a PSU? Buy a Seasonic"  who cares about the model or your personal needs, they're all perfect in each and every way
     
    I've been hearing this "advice" for more than a decade and it's still going as strong as ever...

    Nah with a RM550x you're 100% perfectly fine to use a Vega 56, it is a high end and quality PSU.
     
    The whole deal about using 2 completely different PCI-e cables really only was true with R9 295x2... people started to say it about the Vega 56 simply because it really is a demanding GPU on the regards of peak electricity load and if you use a bad PSU (most still do for w/e reasons) you'd have a bad time, so this was a way to cover bases.
     
    So you're good to go, grab the V56 and be happy.
