  1. Actually, has anyone had any expirence with detachable exterior rads? There's some rubber grommets on the back side of the case that I may be able to use to tie in an additional 360 or 480 rad whilst I'm at home. I suppose I should have mentioned this earlier, but this pc is designed to be semi-portable, as I would like to take it to Lan parties and such, but still powerful enough to play some newer games at high res/frames/quality
  2. From the pictures on the NCase website, it looks as if there's plenty of ventilation, but it is a very small case, so other components could block airflow Therein lies another issue. I don't want to have this thing sound like a supersonic jet, as it's going to be fairly close to where I'm going to be sitting at.
  3. I'm doing some planning for an upcoming build, and I was wondering of a single 240mm radiator would be enough to cool an i7 7700k and a 1080/1070. I'm planning on using the NCase M1 for this build, and space is at a premium. I can't use a very thick radiator, due to the restrictive nature of the chassis. I know that the 240 will be enough to cool the Cpu, and maybe even the gpu, but I may just have to liquid cool the gpu whilst I air-cool the Cpu. Thoughts?
  4. I just rolled back the driver (through hardware manager>driver>roll back) it is seeming to work, but it is folding much slower than it was a few days ago EDIT: Ok, its going faster now, i was just a bit impatient
  5. Hello, I've been having this problem for a few days now, where my Asus GTX 970 strix will fail while trying to fold. I am a complete n00b at folding (only been doing it about a week or so now), so go easy on me if its a simple fix. PC Specs: log Any advice is appreciated, been scratching my head for hours trying to figure this out tonight.
  6. OK, here's the deal: I'm going on a week long camping trip in a few days, and I want to watch some movies during the nights. I have plenty of storage on my phone (32gb built in;about 28 usable, and a 64gb micro SD card) to put a week's worth of movies on it, the issue is that I find my phone's screen to be somewhat uncomfortable to look at for long periods of time. This is when the next part of this problem comes in. The only other mobile devices I have at the moment are a gameboy color (yes, you read that correctly), a Nintendo dsi, and a first gen kindle fire. Obviously, I can't watch movies on the gbc, or the dsi, so that really leaves one option: the first gen kindle fire. Here's where my main problem comes in. The kindle fire only has an 8gb storage chip, and about 3.5gb is used on the os, leaving about 4.5gb free. I could put 2, maybe 3 movies on there, but that's definitely not enough for a week. I've watched movies on my kindle off of my home server through ES file manager over wifi before, so is it possible to do something similar with the htc one m8's wifi hotspot feature? Sorry if that didn't make any sense at all, I'm typing this on my phone at 4am, so please excuse any general English mistakes I may have made. And the long wall of words.
  7. So, would this be fine do you think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Motherboard-375375-000-380356-001-375374-001-Pentium-4-CPU-3-0-1-5GB-RAM-/111914651588?hash=item1a0ea20fc4:g:QqIAAOSwzgRWzOpx
  8. My brother's birthday was today, and he got a new cpu (Intel Core 2 Duo E8400) and a gtx 750ti, but when he went to install his new (to him) bits, we discovered that his mobo was dead. no post. We put the gpu & cpu in another system, and they both worked, so they weren't the issue. I looked on ebay, and the only boards that i can find for less than $35 were from dell systems, and other "premade" systems that you would purchase at a best buy or similar store. The issues with these boards, is that quite a few of them have nonstandard front panel connectors, or even power connectors. I need a board that is standard, has 4 ram slots, a few SATA ports, floppy disk connector, and an ide connector. bonus points for many usb ports, vga output, and several fan headers
  9. So, back in around 2002-2004, we had this old win98 computer that had this risk-like game on it. i really don't know how to describe it very well, as i was only 5 years old at the time, so don't remember much of it. I do remember that my uncle had installed it on the pc when he was visiting us one time, and it was a suite of games, and the game i am talking about was included in the package. basically, there was a continent, and there was different weapons you can use to "paint" the continent with your country's color. in the beginning, the majority of the continent was gray, then as it was conquered, it turned into the colors of the different factions. i may have butchered this entire game, but if anyone figures out what game i'm babbling about, you get like, 9001 internet cookies.
  10. I got a really cute little netbook from my friend a few months ago, and it's just been collecting dust in my closet. I want to turn it into a security camera but all the guides i have found have not worked, i don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but it just isn't working. anyways, a huge constraint of this project is the "hard drive" storage capacity. It's only got a 4 GB Solid State drive (it's more like a flash drive, not fast at all), so it's tricky to install an OS and a program that would work with that small of drive. anyways, the netbook is pretty low power consumption, so i'm not worried about my electric bill . Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? if it doesn't, i can always just do the same thing with my raspberry pi and a webcam. but i'd need to buy a webcam, and i'd rather not do that
  11. No problem, you learn something new every day.
  12. That's not a half height card
  13. That's one of the ones I'm looking at actually.
  14. OK, maybe I should have put this in the OP, but it has to be a half-height card, that's why I chose those 2 gpu's. They are both available in a half height version. Unless someone knows of a better performing card than the 750ti that is available in a half height form factor?
  15. Might seem like a no Brainer, but I also have an a10-7770 in this rig, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to get a 750ti and sell the 240. EDIT:The reason I chose these 2 cards is b/c I already have the 240 and the 750ti looks to be the best half-height card right now.(I'm putting the system in a tiny custom built case, and it needs to be half height.)
