Hello LTT, After my previous post about my display turn off yet monitor and PC was on. I was able to fix it through uninstalling my driver and installing a new one. Now, this is a new problem where my system completely shut off, and I have to boot it manually. I have no idea what it is going on. It is getting ridiculous now, lol. I have checked my Temps using CPUID HWMonitor for CPU and GPU. They all seem normal from what I can see. CPU: 40*C to 55*C and GPU: 46*C to 53*C. Does anyone know what is causing it?

Screen Turn Off but My Monitor and PC is Still On. Help?
Ryou-kun replied to Ryou-kun's topic in Troubleshooting
After updating the drivers and Windows 10 then decide to uninstall the GPU drivers and reinstall it. I haven't encounter anything ... yet. I did downclock my CPU to 4.0 GHz like I have mention which it would be a pity. i5-2500k need as much of OC as possible to get that dope FPS. Oh well. I really hope it stays that way, lol. -
Screen Turn Off but My Monitor and PC is Still On. Help?
Ryou-kun replied to Ryou-kun's topic in Troubleshooting
I wonder if it is due to my PC being a bit old. After all, it is an Intel Core i5-2500k OC @ 4.2 GHz and download clock to 4.0 GHz to see and have a GTX 670. Or it is one of those feeling where when you have money or getting new stuff. Your stuff decide to break down. Idk, I will try and reinstall the driver and see. -
Screen Turn Off but My Monitor and PC is Still On. Help?
Ryou-kun replied to Ryou-kun's topic in Troubleshooting
The problem is that I wasn't able to see the temps when it occured. I did had HWMonitor program open but the screen turn off suddenly, so I didn't manage to catch it. I would say that my GPU temp before it occured were 50*C-60*C. -
Hello LTT, Lately, I have been having trouble with my PC where the screen just went black, however, both of my PC and monitor is still on. Like if I am watching a video or listening to music, the screen randomly turn off, but I can still hear the video or music playing. I did hear my fan spinning incredibly fast when my screen turn off. When I try to reboot it, it doesn't work. I did tried to turn off the PSU from behind my PC, wait 10 seconds and turn it back on and it is back to normal for a while until it repeated. Does anyone know how to fix it? It is annoying.

Oh, I know i5-2500k OC @ 4.2 GHz or higher is still a decent gaming CPU. It is almost on par with i5-6600k or maybe Kaby lake ones. If my mobo is definitely compatible then it is probably my mistakes on my end. Then again, I was already frustrated, grouchy and impatient (waking up from a long nap and trying to fix your PC isn't helping). Oh well, I have already got the Ryzen 1600 coming in soon, so I might as well upgrade. Then again, I do need the extra cores and threads for my current tasks and future. Thanks for clarify it for me. I will be sure to keep in mind.

Don't know. You might be right and I was wrong, and I could either didn't uninstall the NVIDIA drivers properly or it was DOA. Either way, I guess it is time to upgrade and give my PC to my dad.
-
Alright. I'll be sure to send some pictures and banana for scale (if I could find one). There are already few people that have AMD Ryzen 1600 and posted it on Reddit I believe. Don't have a link sorry.
-
The seller has already shipped it yesterday.
-
Saw it on slickdeals. http://www.ebay.com/itm/292070787421 It was also on Marshall Mall I think.
-
Manual way. Of course, I heard of a software that can do it. Oh well, I have already order the Ryzen 1600 and RAM. It does slowly showing its age but not whole lot. I just don't want to spend another 6+ hours trying to make sure it is actually DOA not another not compatible. Just wanted it to be safe, lol.
-
Could but the blue lights is on and fan is kicking.
-
Not just gaming. Without upgrading anything else, I couldn't even use the newer GPU because my MoBo isn't compatible with it. I was forced to do so by my old MoBo. I mean it would be nice if I didn't need to upgrade everything but no choice.
-
On Fry's, I saw 2 more MoBo, but I choose the ASUS because I had good experience with their MoBo. Of course, minus not compatible with new CPU. There is Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 AMD AM4 Motherboard and MSI B350M Gaming Pro AMD B350 AM4 Ryzen Motherboard.

Yeah. I bought an AMD RX 480 couple weeks ago before I had a mind to upgrade my PC. Decide to plug it into my PC and hoping it to work after uninstalling the NVIDIA drivers. When I boot it up, no signal. It took me 6+ hours trying to get it to work and nothing. Doesn't help when I just woke up from a nap, so I was grouchy and impatient. - Reset the Bios by resetting the CMOS battery for 10+ seconds. Nothing. - Use different monitor (have dual monitor). Nothing. - Use different cables. Nothing. - Try my onboard iGPU. Work. - Try my old GPU. Work. - Make sure all of my cables and GPU are in place. Nothing. - Updated my PCI-E Bios. Nothing. It was annoying, and it is either DOA or not compatible.
-
If I go for AIO, I don't know if it would fit my case. As for MoBo, I don't know if the B350 is any good for OCing the AMD Ryzen 1600. GPU - Hmm, I was considering it.
-
I did mention it. For CPU Cooler, probably between $50-$70 dollar. For MoBo, I am hoping to be under $100 or maybe go over a little bit if it allows me to OC if the $100 MoBo can't. For GPU, mostly between $200-$300 (pretty much RX 480 and GTX 1060), but I am a bit worried that RX 480 and GTX 1060 won't give me enough FPS for certain games like Rainbow Six Siege and Battlegrounds.

Hello LTT, I am upgrading my PC because it is slowly showing its age plus my motherboard isn't compatible with newer GPU, so I was left with no choice but to upgrade it. I do mostly games (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rainbow Six Siege and most importantly Playerunknown's Battlegrounds [love that game]) and multitasking (Programming, watching Twitch while gaming, etc.,) Currently, I have: CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k OC @ 4.2 GHz CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper Plus 212 MoBo: ASUS P8Z68-V LX RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR3 (2x4GB) 1333 MHz (PC3-10600) RAM GPU: Galaxy Geforce GTX 670 PSU: Corsair HX 750W Storages: x1 1TB HDD (WD), x1 2TB HDD (WD), x1 128GB Crucial SSD and x1 128GB ADATA SSD Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Z Case: CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer Recently bought: CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 CPU Cooler: Either Corsair H100i v2 or Corsair H55 (sadly barely any CPU Fans) MoBo: Undecided but was considering Asus Prime B350 Plus but unsure if it is a good board to OC. I do planned to get probably 4.0 GHz if the 3.2 GHz isn't good enough. RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 16GB DDR4 (2 x 8GB) 3000 (PC4 24000) GPU: Undecided. Was considering RX 480 (saw a link for RX 570 and RX 580 where there are barely any improvements over RX 480 like I was expecting) or GTX 1060. PSU: Keeping my Corsair HX 750W Storages: Keeping it and might consider a m.2 SSD if it is worth the extra cost. Sound Card: Keeping it. Case: Keeping it. Budget: For CPU Cooler, I am hoping around $50-$70 dollar unless the Corsair H100i v2 is worth it. For MoBo, I was hoping to be under $100. Might be cheap but as long it is a good quality and allows me to OC then I am fine unless I have to spend $150-$200 dollar MoBo. GPU is a bit tricky. I am like killing myself on what is a good GPU to get for a decent budget probably between $200-$300 dollar. Maybe slightly more if there are huge performance differences. All I need the help are CPU Cooler, MoBo and GPU. Thank you,
-
Thanks for everyone. I decide to get the monitor and GPU later. It seems like monitor can last much longer than GPU without upgrading. Who know, I might be able to find a GTX 1160 or AMD RX 580 or something, lol.

I agree that I won't be able to hit 144 fps at an intensive games, but I mostly play CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege. I do believe I hit around 100 FPS whereas CS:GO, I tend to hit at 200 or 300 FPS. I mean I will play Battlefield and other games but probably not at a competitively at 144 Hz compare to CS:GO.

Hello LTT, I don't know which forum to post on, sorry. I am in a market to either buy a new GPU like GTX 1060 or AMD RX 480 for around $200 dollar OR a 144 Hz monitor like Acer GN246HL Bbid 24-Inch (if that monitor price goes down to $199) or AOC G2460PF 24-Inch Free Sync Gaming. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-GN246HL-Bbid-24-Inch-Display/dp/B00KO4518I/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484366704&sr=1-1&keywords=144+Hz+monitor https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PF-24-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XBEI/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484366704&sr=1-3&keywords=144+Hz+monitor I currently own a regular 24" Dell 1920x1080 monitor at 60 Hz and GTX 670. I am not sure which one to get first and get other one later. I wanted to get a 144 Hz monitor and grab the GPU later because I think there might be a new, better and cheaper GPU coming out from either AMD or NVIDIA. At the same time, it is vice versa for the monitor. There might be a better yet cheaper 144 Hz monitor coming out. Any help, guys? Thanks.

Oh okay, thanks. Great looking headphone.

Hmm, only Amazon, it said it is open back not closed back unless Amazon made an error on it. https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-598-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0042A8CW2

Hello LTT, I am looking to buy a headphone under $100, and I am from USA. It has to be a closed-ear with neutral sound/flat sound or closely as possible. I am currently using Sennheiser HD 558 with ModMic and pair up with my sound card, Creative Sound Blaster Z and the headphone is sound amazing for being an open-ear and neutral sound/flat sound. However, recently, my little bro move into my room from my parent due to being old enough, we only have two rooms (apartment) and sleeping in bunkbed. I no longer have a quiet room like I used to, and it makes it harder for me to listen music, watch videos and play games because sounds leak and I hear more background noises. Not to mention, I am adding more stuff to my room that increases background noises such as letting TV running in the background (watching eSports) and also air purifier running. As much as I wanted to keep using my Sennhesier HD 558, but it becoming almost at the point where I cannot keep using it. :'( If anyone knows a closed-ear headphone with neutral sound/flat sound as closely as possible for under $100, I will gladly to increase my budget to $150 dollar if it is worth the extra cash. Thank you,
