  1. It looks like Ubuntu is the one I like to use, but I still keep Linux Mate on another SSD if I decide to alternate for testing purposes. Ubuntu seems to work well when I connect another monitor, but some of the distros didn't work that way when I was trying something. I'm sure but it could have also been the cable adapter I was using for the Surface Pro.
  2. Do you have any screen shots of thermals or a log from HWInfo? I'm guessing it could be poor contact somewhere, but no clue if it's the memory, GPU or something else.
  3. I personally think thinner rad with higher fin density is better than a thicker rad with fewer fin density for cooling performance, but could be noisy. Maybe its the other around for something more quiet, but would require more radiators if you were trying for something more towards silence.
  4. The holes would make it easier to secure heatsinks if you put something on the VRM.
  5. It looks good. Are you still planning to use the 5800X3D for that motherboard? Did you check if the motherboard already had holes near around VRM. I have spotted some low end motherboards already having holes for push pin mounting, but no heat sink.
  6. This will be interesting to see what is consider a video game. AliExpress has something for logging on everyday and also another part that is for playing certain games everyday for extra coin rewards.
  7. The front fans make the RGB look better, but the fans are nothing nearly nothing. It looks like you can mount the front fans so its behind the mounting bracket. This may allow some space between the front glass and front side intake so the fanst can actually pull some air from the sides.
  8. After looking at a MS Industrial Iron videro, it looks like the top of the case could be really tight for Arctic Liquid Freezer II with the radiator being so thick. Hard to tell from pictures, but it may not even fit 25mm rad with 25mm fans. There seems to be different version of the Industrial. You really could just do what mariushm suggested with the VRM heat sinks. I would just use something like a TR Phantom Spirit dual tower cooler and use a round 140mm fan that uses 120mm fan spacing holes for the center fan so it blows underneather the heat sink to reach the fins of the added heat sinks over the VRM. This is what I did for a system, but the VRM alread had stock heat sinks. I am using a Scythe 140mm fan I bought over 12 years ago. I don't know where to look for one other than Amazon, but they seem to cost so much.
  9. Is that suposed to be the graphics card with the blank spots? The only thing I see wrong is the excessive amount of paste used. It looks like some spots are not covered, but that is likely just stuck on the heat sink or got pulled to another area when you removed the heat sink. You could always just try another thermal paste. I'm not sure what that paste is like, but I usually prefer one thats easier to spread. Not the kind that sticks to itself like gum, and stretchs and springs back making it difficult to spread evenly.
  10. Here's the solution: https://youtu.be/5ubjlBDmhTI?si=6o8tjdO3-8lkN-Om Someone posted it on Reddit.
  11. You can leave the components connected, but just be careful driving. There's always that possibility someone could rear end you or get into some accident. I keep thinking about that guy that tried to save on gas by transporting a load of refillable gas containers only end up being rear ended and died from the fire/explosion.
  12. I only have a Deep Cool Castle AIO, but never thought the pump was completly silent. I would say it's fairly quiet and I probably have sensitive ears. I went straight to custom cooling a year later, but I don't think that is truly silent when trying to have all of the components within a computer case. Some people may think it is silent, but to someone else with sensitive hearing they will hear something but maybe not annoying. Sometimes the loudest sound could end up being the sound of the air being pushed out the case exhaust because the fan is up so close to the grill or the air being forceed through the radiator. As for the video, I did hear a faint sound from the videos. I'm not sure where the microphone was, but if was near the pump then it may be normal. If the mic was outside of a closed case then something could be wrong with it. The temperatures you have seem fine. Hard to compare someone elses results if they do not have the same setup, enviroment and running the fans at the same rate as you. You could try setting the pump to a speed that doesn't sound so loud as long is it keeps the loop running. There's really no need to change the pump RPM for an AIO since it won't do much unless you intened to push your radiator fans really hard to max out cooling potential. Even that may see little difference with such short run lines. I personally think there is too much hype around AIO these days and air coolers need to come up with bigger designs.
  13. I've been holding for Baldur's Gate 3 sale and read something about it being December 21 on Steam.
  14. Do you mean where the photo is not compressed and does not do any post processing to it to try to enhance it?
  15. What are you using now? I mainly stay with full size keyboards. since the layout is always the same. There are difference configurations with less keys, but the problem I find is when I change keyboards some of the keys like page up/down, home/end and other keys can be in different places. It gets annoying if I keep press the wrong keys for shortcuts or need to reassign keys.
  16. If Remoo Fan free software lets you change the fan settings for your video card then use that. In my opinion, It's way better than any branded motherboard and GPU software availble for controlling fan speeds. If other software confilicts with it, I would recommend to get rid of the other software.
  17. Did you recently flash the BIOS before this occured? What is the CPU temperatures when you shutdown? Have you tried changing the BIOS settings for when the power is off? I am not sure about this motherboard, but some power states there is still power so the computer can computer be turned on by other devices like through the USB, keyboard, LAN and PCIe. You can trying disabling those options.
  18. Yes thats the Byski version that is not labeled Granzon. What I noticed is that decibel for the Granzon listed on the US site uses the decibel for the AliExpress $15 Bykski fan. I don't know if it is a mistake or more of honest opinion of the sound, but they appear about the same in appearance with only different bearings.
  19. I had to run my 3600 kit at 3466 with the timings for 3600. After that I never bought another 3600 set for AM4.
  20. I just tried to run RC on my desktop over the weekend and it didn't actually start, but was left running in the background.
  21. You can find the Ganzon fans from stores Byski stores. I thought I would post this since I was trying to find the amperage and wattage for this fan which was from a US store. AliExpress stores seem to have left out some important details. 11/11 sale was better, but I still find this tempting to buy during the $4 off for every $25 sale. https://www.bykski.us/products/granzon-high-volume-120mm-pwm-fan-3000-rpm-108-cfm-45-6-dba-gi120 Granzon High Volume 120mm PWM Fan
  22. It appears you to need to have a Steam account that has spent atleast $5 US from the Steam store to be eligible to get it for free.
  23. Oh I didn't know it had something, although it doesn't say it's available in my location. So I don't know if it has anything other than reporting a account. Ebay is safer if you paid from Paypal if the item didn't match the description.
  24. Facebook has no buyer protection. Sending first money would have already been a redflag. Always meet up with the person on Facebook and Craigslist. It's not structured like Ebay with some buyer protection.
