    Today I discovered that my 'modern' laptop has worse battery life than a laptop made 10 years ago.

    Just get a USB wifi adapter. There aren't many PCIe Wifi cards out there.

    Older machines are great for basic tasks. I used to have some decrepit old laptop that couldn't connect to wifi no matter what, so I just used it to write a story. Now where's the hard drive...

    Hey I know people calling 5 and 6th gen Core CPU's "ancient". And that's because they bought the device with a spindle drive.

    I'm so happy that people are proud to show off their old, obsolete tech and parts; it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I was born into the "newer" generation but prefer the tech from the "older" generation.

    For me, I like sticking around 2400 MHz Ram, because it provides a good amount of speed. Just my opinion.

    I say SSD, because 16GB of 2666MHz RAM is PLENTY fast. An SSD reduces boot time since the computer doesn't have to wait for the system to load. In the end, if you really want to, you can upgrade your RAM. But at least try overclocking it, to save yourself a bit of money.
