  10. ars technica: Apple defines specs for Lightning headphones with 48kHz output 9TO5 MAC: http://9to5mac.com/2014/06/03/apple-introduces-mfi-specs-for-lightning-cable-headphones-support-arriving-in-future-ios-update/ So "Apple has created a new specification for its Made for iPhone (MFi) program that will allow OEMs to make headphones that use the Lightning port instead of the standard headphone jack." Apparently this will allow "headphones that use the specification will apparently be able to receive 48kHz digital stereo output, and headsets with integrated microphones will be able to send 48kHz digital mono input. The headphones could additionally send other kinds of input to the iDevice, including the ability to control playback or launch specific applications." I know nothing about headphones....well almost nothing...but this just seems like an excuse for Apple to have more proprietary bs. That aside it seems pretty cool.
  11. We as a species will find the answers to most of our problems in space, even the answer to bringing us together as a species. The thing is that we make sure that Colonizing the universe isn't only left to the wealthy, that it's open to everyone.
  12. The Verge: Kickstarter’s next campaign So kickstater has made 3 major changes to it's platform: "The rules for creators have been simplified from about 1,000 words to less than 300 "Previously banned products are allowed back on the platform." "Projects can now opt to "Launch Now" and bypass Kickstarter’s approval process." It seems like they are making these changes to better compete with Indiegogo, which is less restrictive the Kickstarter. Though before a person can launch or get feedback their project is checked "for rule violations that could take as little as five minutes. That check will now be done by an algorithm that looks at keywords in the campaign, the creator’s track record on Kickstarter, and other metrics to create a profile of the project and compare it to similar projects that have been approved, rejected, flagged, and removed. If the campaign passes the algorithmic check, the creator can choose to either launch without a human review or request feedback from the Kickstarter team." This will greatly speed up the approval process and make things more efficient. How do you guys like the changes? Do you think they will help or hinder kickstarter? Do you think they shouldn't have changed?
  13. I guessing that they will eventually do something similar to actual lasertag in the future, personally i've been waiting for something like this specifically to happen. I just hope the build quality is up to par cause i swing fairly hard lol.
