typical psu issue - while the psu should definitely be able to handle your card something must be wrong with it. try either to RMA it or get otherwise an adequate psu to test.

Fire stick is Amazon which competes directly with Apple in certain ways. They don’t support Apple products in that way.

The best way is to get an Apple TV but I understand it’s expensive. Next best option is to get the hdmi to lightning adapter from Apple. I have one and it works perfectly and ton fuss at all. Just instantly displays what I need every time.

I've always followed the philosophy that if we're on the verge or a major release that it's worth the wait unless you absolutely can't. This is more of a minor thing that you'd be waiting for so I would consider going for the super card. I've heard amazing things about the cards, people generally seem to be very happy with them.

I’m not certain but I think labeling certain sites as potentially false information could lead to lawsuits. Sounds like defamation to me and is likely worse than just resorting search results a bit.

It seems that most of the tech connected world is ok suppressing right leaning opinions and sources. Most of Hollywood, most major news networks, Facebook, google, Twitter, etc. it’s just something you need to know.

    It’s becoming a real problem.

I, personally, don’t think I want the government stepping in and trying to “fix” the problem. It seems most things government touches gets ruined.

I lean pretty heavily to the right and would rather see liberal owned companies suppressing conservative ideas on their platform rather than have the government try to fix it. As bad as it is, I do think they have a right to suppress and filter what is said on their own platform. The ethics of that is a totally different question.

dDave64 got a reaction from Stagea in OLED or QLED - Convince me
Don't hear me wrong, I like OLED technology and think it's great.

OLED handles darker blacks better and QLED handles brighter whites better. That's not my opinion, that is verifiable fact based on the technology.

You can't just dismiss QLED as worse outright. It absolutely depends on what you're doing, even down to the exact shot you're looking at. It depends on what you're watching, where you're watching, even the angle you're watching. All of these factors come into play.

Nits absolutely still matter and QLED can go far brighter than OLED. Nits will matter until TV manufacturers can accurately achieve the brightness levels a person may see out in the real world. They simply haven't gotten there yet.

I hear what you're saying about the glow. My TV does this and literally it's only noticeable or bothersome when it's a shade of white on a completely black backdrop. Otherwise, in movies or games it's not noticeable at all even if you're looking for it.

Yes, there is a bit of a bloom effect when looking at really bright shades on an otherwise totally black screen using QLED. Yes, the viewing angles aren't quite as strong for QLED. And yes, it's older technology; but better is such a relative term that it really does come down to exactly what you want and exactly how you're defining better.

I feel like for my whole life I've been trying to give AMD/ATI Graphics cards a chance and have been constantly disappointed.

Now, I am perfectly fine with their CPUs and intend to build later this year with a Ryzen 3000 series chip (unless Intel pulls off multiple miracles) but I am almost positive I'll be going for an Nvidia Graphics card to pair with that AMD CPU. Hear me out here.

I had a lot of years where I would maintain 2 or even 3 gaming PCs at a time so I could do LAN games with my brothers so I've owned a lot of cards and gotten to test out quite a few over the years.

Graphics cards I've personally owned (that I can think of, pretty sure I got all of them)

    AMD/ATI
    Radeon 7000 (x2) (both died)
Radeon 9800 Pro (x2) (one died)
    Radeon 800 XT Pro (died)
    Radeon 5870
Radeon 7970 GHz edition (major coil whine, died)

    GTX 450 fermi
    GTX 560 (x2 SLI)
    GTX 560 SC
    GTX 970 (factory overclocked)
    GTX 1060

I've always used reasonably high quality and higher wattage power supplies (from the likes of Corsair, Cooler Master, Thermaltake, BFG, and EVGA). I do not overclock, ever. I have always had sufficient air cooling.

It's unbelievable to me how many of the Radeon cards I had simply bit the dust for no apparent reason. Even the 7970 GHz edition (by ASUS ROG), I got it replaced under warranty and sold it to buy a GTX 970 from EVGA just so I could feel sure of my computer continuing to work properly. Of all the Nvidia cards I've had, literally one of them has died, ever, and even that was after years of very demanding use.

I don't know what it is but my luck with Radeon series cards has been extremely bad. Nvidia has been very good to me.

I hear AMD's drivers are better than they used to be but still not on par with Nvidia's. One key thing for me is wanting to play older games (even into the 90s) and I hear AMD still aren't great for that.

I feel like I'll be sticking with Nvidia for the foreseeable future. Not a fanboy of Nvidia but I don't really see a viable alternative at the moment.

This is exactly my thought too. The most important thing with RAM is having enough of it. Yes, dual channel is faster but single channel will operate fine and will still be really fast. A lot better for upgrading later which I would assume is no more than a few years out. Keep the 8 and add another 8. 16gb isn’t that much RAM by today’s standards.

I've had varieties of Kit Kat from the USA, Mexico, Japan, and Australia. I couldn't really tell a major difference between the US and Australian versions, they seemed exactly the same to me. I think the Japanese version seemed a little crunchier and less sweet (again, idk, sometimes differences are hard to catch, it could have just been stale or something).

My favorite was definitely the Mexican version though. So smooth and creamy, I just felt like they used higher quality chocolate. I can get them from the local Spanish speaking supermarket in my area. Haven't done so in years but I should. My main issue is that I don't speak Spanish so it's a little hard to shop there, haha.

They use the exact same drives you’d see with an internal drive, they just have an external enclosure. The constant random plugging and unplugging, moving, shaking, exposure to elements, failure to eject properly, etc. do tend to make them last less time though.

Not a surprise to see this. Stuff like this has always bothered me though. There's a strong amount of prejudice against video games in our modern culture. While SOME of that viewpoint has merit it's usually garbage arguments that people just don't like video games and think they're unhealthy. No real argument, just that they think it's unhealthy so therefore they severely limit how much time their kids can play games or just say they can't play them at all. Funnily enough, most of the parents I know that won't let their kids play video games watch an ungodly amount of TV as if that's somehow better and more healthy.

The reality is that anything you let consume your life can be an addition and addictions are unhealthy. Video games do not deserve all the targeting they have received over the past 20 or so years.

I've been playing video games since I was just 2 or 3 years old and it's not an addiction for me. It's simply something that I enjoy. I love the creativity aspect, the puzzles, executing something perfectly. I firmly believe that playing games when I was younger made me into a much more creative individual and actually helped me get into the AV/IT  tech world that I now work in professionally.

I do believe some games go too far in terms of mature content, sexual themes, violence, etc. and that a lot of kids far too young are getting into those kinds of games. I also believe that some people really do spend way too much time gaming but in my observation gaming has always been written off as immature and somehow a bad use of time even for those of us that have always gamed responsibly.

for cooling you really need to get a good laptop cooling pad and just leave it running if you’re doing any kind of super intensive task like gaming. It’s a great machine but it heats up quick under stress. For casual browsing it would be fine without the extra cooling.
