  1. No I never did do that, taking the computer in managed to save me from trying that.
  2. It had never quite run right since I built it back in October, it would sometimes get stuck on the DRAM portion of the boot. This advanced to DRAM or CPU error during boot and then finally in January after letting it sit for a month while I was away, came back and it was showing DRAM, CPU, VGA error. I RMA'd the RAM, then the motherboard twice, then the CPU finally. Issues persisted, updating the BIOS helped temporarily but then it wouldn't post at all. Finally took it in this past weekend because I was tired of messing with it. They tested each part, re-seated the CPU and found that there was a bad stick of ram out of the two even after sending it back. I hadn't messed with the BIOS settings really since before beginning the parts replacement process so nothing specific comes to mind.
  3. ASUS X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi. Before I started having problems with my computer the ram ran at 3600 without a problem, so I was wondering what could have changed.
  4. Hello, I just got my computer fixed at a store because it wouldn't boot. Turned out it was a bad stick of ram so I am using the good stick of ram from the pair and running my desktop on it. The problem is however when I go into BIOS and everything is on auto it is running at 2133MHz which is normal I know. However when I go into the tweaker and enable DOCP and it detects and sets itself to 3600MHz which is the speed the ram is supposed to run at and I exit, it restarts until it boots in safe mode and I have to go back in and change it back to auto and 2133 speed. What could be causing this issue? Is it because there is only one stick of ram or am I missing something? The DOCP takes the voltage to 1.35V from the regular 1.2V it runs at in auto as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My ram is TridentZ Neo 3600MHz 2x16GB and my mobo is an ASUS X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi.
  5. I don't have one sadly. I did watch the voltages when I started having this issue but the computer was running and it seemed like the voltages and power delivery were stable from what I could see on CPUID HWMonitor.
  6. Alright so yes I have the ram in slot 2, it won't boot with them in slot 2 and 4 at the same time. I have a corsair RM750X and no I have not tried to reload windows because I didn't want to lose the things I have saved on the boot drive if I can help it.
  7. Alright so with the dinky one plugged in it posts. I reset the BIOS to default, it rebooted and then rebooted again, then started automatic repair and said that the PC did not start correctly. It does this in a loop.
  8. Alright well I was swapping back to my main graphics card and it now shows a VGA error and won't post Idk whats going on. I'll try swapping back to the dinky one.
  9. It does say in BIOS that the selected frequency for RAM is 3600 but shows 2133MHz as what it is operating at. DOCP is enabled and everything else is Auto.
  10. I have cleared the CMOS and yes the BIOS is the latest date. I don't have a good history with ASUS haha.
  11. I actually was just able to using one stick of ram but it is unstable. It keeps randomly rebooting and if I let it go past the BIOS faze it says that the computer did not start properly and to restart. And that cycle just continues.
  12. Hello, I have an ASUS X570 TUF Gaming Motherboard with Wifi and I have been having a problem for a while now where it won't post. It hangs up on the boot showing a CPU or VGA error now and when I tried a different graphics card the errors persist. I noticed that my motherboard has the standard 24 pin and an additional 8 pin labeled EATX12V_1 and a 4 pin labeled EATX12V_2. I have cables to the 24 pin and 8 pin but not one to the 4 pin, this wouldn't cause a problem for the computer booting would it? I usually run a 2070 Super but tried an old GT710 and the outcome is the same. I have RMA'd the ram and CPU (received an entirely new CPU) and have RMA'd the motherboard twice. The second time they sent me a refurbished motherboard. I am lost on what to do. Could it be a compatibility error between the motherboard and the components? When I contacted ASUS they said all the components were compatible. Thanks. 13. Great thanks, I see that you have a 3900X and TidentZ ram, have you had any problems with it not working? I have been having issues since I built mine and I have replaced the RAM, motherboard twice, and CPU but it won't boot now. I have a 3900X, 2070 Super Gaming X Trio, TridentZ Neo 2x16GB 3600MHz, and an X570 Tuf Gaming Wifi mobo.
  14. I am trying to troubleshoot why my PC won't post and I am thinking about trying a different graphics card. Will a graphics card with PCIE 2.0 work in my X570 which is PCIE 4.0? I know that boards are backwards compatible so 4.0 will work in a 3.0 but will be limited to the 3.0 bandwidth, but what about vice versa? Thanks.
  15. Why would it show RAM and CPU errors if it was GPU related? Just wondering.
  16. I swapped it to from the B2 to A2 slot for the ram and tried again but nothing changed. I just remembered that a while back I was playing MW after it came back out and during an online game after several hours of playing, the colors kind of went wonky but when I shut the game down and restarted, everything was fixed. Does that hint at anything?
  17. It now sometimes goes past the RAM and CPU error but shoes VGA error (white light)
  18. I have just one in slot 2 right now. I cleared the CMOS by shorting the two pins just now but no change.
  19. Hello, for several months now I have been having trouble with my new desktop that I built. At first it would boot no problem then it had points where it would get stuck booting showing a DRAM error (yellow light), but restarting would fix this. Then it started doing it more and then started showing a CPU error during boot (red light). Now one by one I have sent in my RAM to be RMA'd, motherboard twice to be RMA'd including them giving me an entirely different board, and finally I sent my CPU in and received a brand new one. It still is having the issue. Before it would boot with only a single stick of ram in it sometimes or it would show DRAM error, but with two sticks it shows a CPU error. I have ruled out RAM, Motherboard, and CPU as potential problems as the error lights suggested were the problems. This past time before I sent in the CPU, it was running but unstable and would often randomly default back to booting from the DRAM stage check. I was attempting to update drivers using a few different recommended softwares that scanned and installed the latest ones for me. During the use of one I got a weird feeling and canceled the process and shut the computer down in the middle of the update (against my better judgement). Now it won't post period but the lights all come on and it shows DRAM and CPU error again. I can't get to my BIOS even. Any idea what I can do to remedy this problem? Thanks. Below are my system specs. Ryzen 3900X RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3600MHz ASUS TUF Gaming Motherboard with WIFI Sabrent Rocket 512GB NVME SSD 3TB Seagate HDD Corsair RMX750 Powersupply
  20. So if it potentially a power supply issue, how could I determine that? Like what should I look for? I don't have a spare one laying around to swap out. I have CPUID HWMonitor installed and ran it for an hour or two last night and watched the voltages but nothing really look strange and all of the different categories were pretty darn stable.
  21. The box the ram came in says AMD Ryzen 3000 compatible....
  22. Hey guys so if you check my profile you will see that I have been having a ton of trouble with my new system that I built. After having my ram RMA'd once and my motherboard twice, I am still having the same exact problems and I am lost beyond belief. This is making me just want to sell my computer all together. A short run down is that my desktop since I built it has ran kind of weird sometimes getting stuck when booting from a shut down. It would get stuck on the yellow DRAM light on my motherboard and after switching it on and off at the power supply, this would usually fix the problem and it would boot up. Now however after I have sent the RAM in and the motherboard TWICE, it is still doing the same thing. I just received a new motherboard from ASUS so I can't really think it is the motherboard anymore. Now it only boots with one stick of ram in it and when I put two in it either is stuck on the DRAM light or the red CPU light. I just can't think of what could be causing this problem. Occasionally the RGB lights flicker as well but that is a different problem. I have tried setting the memory frequency down to 3200MHz instead of the advertised 3600 hoping that it might help. No better. Could it be the CPU? I mean it works with one stick of ram so is that even possible? If anybody can think of anything I would love to hear it. Thanks. 23. Ryzen 3900X. When I talked to ASUS they said all the components I am using are compatible.
  24. I altered it thinking it may be unstable. It was set to 1.35 and I have since reset it from 1.3 to 1.35.
  25. Hello, I am having trouble with my X570 motherboard problem and I have had it sent back to ASUS once already. The problem is when turn it on sometimes it will get stuck on the yellow boot light meaning a ram error. Replaced the ram and then it cycled between ram, cpu, and vga error. Now after getting it back from ASUS, which they said the problem was the BIOS needed to be updated and that fixed the problem, it still has the same problem. This time however if using two sticks of ram is shows a CPU error but if using only one stick of RAM in the second from the left dimm slot it boots alright. Sometimes it chooses that there is a ram error in the middle of using it however and restarts to the ram portion of the boot process. I have tried each stick of ram and they work fine. I am in the process of sending it back again but I just wanted to hear any thoughts of what else could possibly be causing this issue besides the motherboard if there are any that come to mind. Thanks!
