AliveGhost13 got a reaction from don_svetlio in is the CX 600 actually a good powersuply
Just because a PSU works, it does not mean it is good.
Saying "I have a CX and it works fine" doesn't mean anything. Many people use "750W" Chinese units just "fine". Would you use one? No.
For the price of CX, you can get better, longer warranty carrying units. These are often the same price or even sometimes cheaper. Why would you buy CX? Just for the flipping Corsair sticker, that's why.

Don't buy the Corsair RM or any of the suggested EVGA units as the B1 and G1 are naff. The XFX is a good shot.

EVGA G2 can also make use of the Cablemods cables.

AliveGhost13 got a reaction from FlabbyPirate in I am in genuine need of help regaurding Power Supplies
Just don't get a CX. Overpriced, mediocre making for an all round poor PSU.

AliveGhost13 got a reaction from rentaspoon in SF Leadex, Antec EDGE or XFX XTR
SF Leadex is the best out of those
EDGE and XTR are based on Seasonic G

Corsair RM is meh. For the ripoff price of the RM, you can usually get EVGA G2, XFX XTR, EVGA B2 which are all better.

AliveGhost13 got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in Which one of these PSUs should I go for?
CX600M is a mediocre PSU. Tier 1 means dog crap, the CX is made by CWT and for the money you can do much better usually. Are those the only options?

AliveGhost13 got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in Corsair AX850
Great, let me change from single rail to multi rail which you'd never want to do
Flextronics are not as good as Seasonic, expect the AX1500i which is a properly good PSU, along with the 1200i, but expensive at the same time
80 Plat/Tit means nothing in saving money, barely I imagine a few $ per year. Seasonic also make high efficiency PSUs, but Corsair chose to save money and go with an inferior OEM.

Up to you, I suppose the Corsair is cheap compared to the better ones, and Corsair have good support

Fractal has 3 year warranty stated here? - http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/power-supplies/integra-m/integra-m-650w
Passive is better, as at low loads the fan doesn't spin, so you get no noise
-
AliveGhost13 got a reaction from Wiplive in Student Gaming Build
CX isn't passive, and CX also has 3 year warranty as well as the Fractal. Obviously the Enermax or the better fractal would be ideal, but this fractal is better than the corsair internally

or that. Made by Seasonic.

This one will be quiet, yes. It has 5 year warranty, there is a reason the Corsair has a 3 year warranty only - because it's not built to last.

The SuperFlower suggested is an excellent PSU. Don't get Corsair CX. They are overpriced and only have a 3 year warranty to go along with their mediocre internals.

AliveGhost13 got a reaction from 191x7 in A new PSU for my RIG; which one to choose?
The Cooler Master G are pretty poor
Integra M isn't great
The S12G is a good choice

Ok, just to let you know.

Bear in mind the G2 1000W does not have the hybrid fan mode.

550W will be fine for this.
Antec HCG 520/620M, any Seasonic, XFX, EVGA GS/B2/G2
